All you can do is win, but to be fair it wasnt difficult to win 5 with the horses he drove. He did drive well and with a lot more confidence than he used to! Boyz Invasion, Superstar Legend, Jonny mac, all been multiple winners from the House Stable were pretty much racing less than good horses so shouldve won! The other 2 were made horses by Regan Todd and Bruce Hutton and beat nothing of note! Great to see young House driving so well but needs to be put into perspective, just reasonable horses from the south beating poor horses from Central! Not too sure how on earth the stake money is so good when the betting turnover is so crap?

8 out of the 10 races no. 5 was in the first 4 places! Well done to Wolf for taking no. 5 and it was the last one taken lol. Thanks Gamma as usual for your efforts!
-
Went a couple of months without any wagering but this is the time that is the easiest to win, when there is so many meetings, so back in! account betting is not worth my effort normally! Tried Top 4 a few times and they let you on to win $20 or $30 and they call themselves BOOKIES? Doesnt appear that this Entain has got the appetite to attract wagering on harness either, but dont think they really care about racing, all about the Sports and other things that they control!
-
The limits adopted and restrictions are hugely detrimental to harness racing! Wish limits were that you were able to win $2k minimum per bet, but not worth the effort often.
-
Ridiculous no wonder things are going south!
-
It is no wonder that harness racing is struggling in NZ, when you are restricted to only being able to win $150 by the NZ TAB!!!!!! What is the point of having any bet when these ludicrously low amounts that certain punters are allowed to win are in place???! They say they want racing to thrive and increase turnover and retain punters, well I have news for the NZ TAB and it is that your policies that you continue to adopt is killing harness racing! There are meetings every week in NZ now that is costing the industry money and by stopping punters from wagering on these meetings is one of the reasons there is buggerall amounts being offloaded. The so called big bets that they announce on harness racing are NOT BIG BETS!!! The TAB should grow some and be prepared to take the punters on!
-
Put the Brodster down for 6, Gamma. Will be a day for the hotties!
-
Gamma, from a punting perspective, just a total waste of time and energy! The dividends are just not worth any effort as they are pretty pathetic. Racing is ok but without anything on them, hard t9 het that enthused and to call it an Interdominion is questionable lol? Bring on Geraldine and Xmas racing when Brodie always does very well!
-
Gamma, always breaking out smiles, lol. I am just one of those people that has an opinion on everything and express it, whether people agree or not doesnt concern me! I have learnt from the past few years that so many are just so easily led and are prepared to accept everything is right! So much WOKE BS nowadays and hopefully The new government in Nz will help, not perfect but so much better!
-
Do not think my comment was emotive at all! From what I have heard there was someone giving info to the cops. Due to the circumstances, Narking on fellow harness participants is not in the best interests of harness racing ! Anyway it is just another thing that has caused division in NZ over recent years!

Walt, going to be a tough night at the office I would say to make money! Cup Day type fields.

I feel the Live Baiting with the dogs is totally different as that could be proven. The Inca case was so flimsy and has been proven by the charges being dropped. The RIB should’ve done their proper diligence before getting the police to do the raids etc. Keystone Cops!
-
It was psychologically detrimental to the health and wellbeing having the charges against them. The financial costs for legal costs and pressure on the relationships will never be recovered by those affected! It is just not right for people to be accused of something and have to bear the brunt of this when there is no case to answer. Just so easy to do this, we see it in other instances as well and you are classed as guilty and have to prove you are innocent, and at huge financial and emotional cost.
-
Ranga, I am not that way inclined! Would be very nervous if I was! Lol
-
Inca will go down in the annals of harness history in NZ along with the Blue Magic Saga, as a very sad time! What it does is puts a black mark against harness racing and we certainly do not need the very bad publicity that the poor media reporters continue to hammer home to everyone! MVB and his understudy Sherwood delighted in continually bringing up everything to do with Inca, and anyone reading it would think the harness industry was crooked! Mountain out of a Molehill was made by the RIB and personally think those involved in prosecuting and those Ratting on fellow harness participants should hang their heads in shame!! Yes life goes on for most, but the unfortunate tarnished reputations and financial costs to those mixed up in Operation Inca will never be the same!!! We can only hope that this BS doesnt happen again, unless there is proven evidence!
-
A Black Time for harness racing is this so called “operation Inca”. If this is the best that our police and harness officialdom can do, then we are totally stuffed! All these charges for race fixing etc going on for 5 years or so and then charges dropped? The eff wits that brought the charges need to be publicly exposed, lose their jobs abd severely fined for total incompetence. Harness participants have had their lives put in turmoil, financially crippling and other psychological problems! Time HRNZ stepped up snd hopefully come out snd do something for these people with a major apology and financial recompense! Racing Integrity, my arse!

I note Weasel a 16 year old MachThree gelding is still going around in Redcliffe! Having his 428th start tonight which won’t be a record but surely it is for age?? You just wonder how it is possible for a horse who is a geriatric is still able to keep the legs pumping after the thousands of miles he would’ve run? Has there been an older pacing horse ever raced? Doubt ever In NZ but I am sure Gammalite will know in Oz?
-
Does seem like crazy planning running 2 grass track meetings one day after the other, and even Addington on the Friday night? Going to be very interesting to see the field sizes for each meeting? Gives owners plenty of opportunity to give their horse a start!i

A job for @gammalite? Applications open for new driving tutors
Brodie replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Good to have a perspective put on it from a younger one. If it is needed then it must be a good thing but going to be interesting to see who gets these positions around the country? Harrison you would know more than myself if these tutors have been asked for by the Junior drivers! Do find it hard to understand why they are required as all juniors are able to tap into most of the senior horsemen for advice. You have been in the top stables and not sure how you could have any extra advice from anyone else that you could benefit from. You will do very well in the industry Harrison. -

Brodie replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
As I asked before, wonder where the feedback came from that has said that our drivers need further education by way of tutors? Think ii is just BS, made up for some reason! Are they saying that our drivers are not good enough and need more training? I personally have not seen a single Junior out driving in a tote race in the past decade that should not be out there as they haven’t got the ability! Juniors nowadays have had thousands of hours working with horses and driving on training tracks. Then they have all the trials drives and have to be competent to even continue to drive at trials. If they weren’t going to make it surely trainers wouldn’t be allowing them to drive a horse? Fortunately there are only a very very small number of trainer/drivers that currently have the odd drive! And these ones just wouldn’t improve with any tutor. If it improves things a bit then all good but also HRNZ look into your own efforts in regard to your rules and officiating, as well! -

Not sure where the feedback came from that says that they need these 3new tutors for improving driving? Personally reckon the driving skills are excellent by the time most of the drivers get to the trials track! The juniors nowadays are extremely skilled and they compete with the ones that have been driving for decades! Where I do believe there needs to be a new position created is a tutor to teach the HRNZ stipes a bit of common sense and get them out on the track so that they can have experience! The officiating decisions and rules are a far bigger problem than the driving of our professionals, who work a damn sight harder than the stipes and reap less financial reward in general!!!!! -
Galah, not sure it is worth pointing out that the current handicapping system is totally unfair and needs amending again! A couple of years or more ago they had a brainstorming meeting of HRNZ and owners and trainers that was going to be full of these great ideas! What came out of this seems to be a messed up change of season date that we couldn’t understand. They seriously do need to once again change things and to be fair it would not be too hard! Just crazy that these horses that have won 10 races or so race one win horses! Not sure why HRNZ don’t come out and announce something in the wind, but there doesn’t seem to be anything! Its OK everything must be going well?

Massive run for technically an early 3 year old. They went hard up front and Nathan Williamson just let the horse go its isn speed without chasing it up early on after missing going away with the field. Only caught the field pretty late on and finished over the top with the last quarter in not much under 30 secs, which helped a lot for it to win. Horse certainly has massive potential and no doubt will receive offers from overseas buyers! Nathan Williamson is very skilled so will look after the horse if it stays in NZ.
-
Dont you mean Tim Butt, Chief?

AllStars stable went well as usual in the big races in Cup Week, Gamma! Nathan appears to be quite cool and non flustered like his father! There did not seem to be any sign whatsoever of his former training partner, which seems very odd seem it was the biggest week in the year for harness racing in NZ! It would appear that she is back in your country Gamma?
