To put it into perspective, there are many poor drives at every meeting. Amateur races are exactly that, they are a betting medium that you can take it or Leave it , you take your chances. Chief, Cup day is a huge source of revenue for the Club and also employs hundreds on the day. Yes the costs will be much reduced but the markup on the hospitality is massive and will leave a huge hole in the income for the year. Will agree to disagree that it is going to be a major loss to the industry both monetary wise and to increase interest in racing from potential newbies.
