  1. You're a bit like Tom arse. You sail a bit close to the wind sometimes. Questioning my pedigree may well bring you as sharp a reaction as you might receive on the other channel.
  2. Agreed but that is what was reported to us at Oamaru The rorts in that PGF would be massive - Jones gets all that dosh for the far north, Winnie gets his racing money(including for Riccarton which is hardly provincial) , they get $40m via the backdoor for KiwiRail (part of that $140m for the Coast two weeks ago for the 'upgrade' of the Tranz Alpine), Jones investing PGF money in dodgy deals. It is just a slush fund
  3. No but with Mr Jones' extra $6m they are planning to
  4. Bernard Saundry assured us at Oamaru that Cambridge had the $4m itself and the deal was full steam ahead once the PGF money was confirmed. And that the aim was not to attract on course attendance but to provide racing product to the TAB AS WELL AS to facilitate NZ horses getting ready for Aussie in the Spring Course I suppose once Winnie's little NZ racing utopia fires up nobody will want to go to Aussie
  5. I think the RSDF is administered by Internal affairs and(I know) the Reefton money came from the Trotting Club's application so would have had the support of HRNZ rather than NZTR(after the lies they told about the starting gates we would never bother asking NZTR to support any application of ours) But it is still an appalling case of one hand having no idea what the other is doing
  6. Now Winnie I know the rumours are circulating about your health but can you not remember that you want to sell off the Reefton Race course? So why the hell are you giving it $13k out of the Racing Safety Development fund to fix the tote and tearooms roof? Is this sensible use of industry funds? And what will your puppet masters in the Waikato elite have to say about it? Methinks they will not be impressed
  7. Get your mind out of the gutter
  8. I did say 'perceived' as a rich man's sport. And Messara and Winnie are pretty clear they are seeking to protect the rich men in the sport and their investments.
  9. Classic example of how they pick the desirable(and easy) fruit when introducing these taxes. If they applied the brightline test only to houses held with the intention of rental or business they would be missing millions in tax. Shares not held on trading account are another example. You are an Accountant I know Tonkatime - this us going to be fun to administer and to deal with the clients over. Only thing for me coming from the Coast there is not a lot of capital gain apart from farmers(and the way the banks are treating them there will be f all capital gain there either. Teethcinda needs to be careful actually - there is a lot of benefits going to the rural areas (like the $140m 'given' to the Coast last week though that is a bit of a media myth) or in a case like this CGT a tax not so likely to affect the rural areas. There is not much appearing to be helping the cities and that is where the votes are. You can't win elections making a big fuss in Hari Hari or Keri Keri.
  10. Do you seriously think Cullen(who is well known for his contempt of wealthy people - only matched by their contempt for him) would miss the Queenstown or Coromandel bach/holiday home when it comes to the CGT? On principle he would attack it. And racing is perceived to be a rich man's sport so fair game in his eyes(note I said 'perceived' so please do bombard me with argument that it is not a rich man's game(I know it is not)) And it is clear you share gains are going to be subject to it and you might not necessarily be carrying on a taxable activity there(if you are not a share trader in the IRD's eyes)
  11. cuckoo cuckoo
  12. Thomass if you cannot contribute something constructive to the conversation don't bother contributing anything at all If it were not for the votes of simpletons like you Winston would have precisely 0.0000000% of the party vote and we would not have to put up with the grandstanding show off prick
  13. Sorry Hesi I am not sure of the rationale just reporting what was said at Oamaru. My enthusiasm for all weather tracks about matches my enthusiasm for the game in general just now so I haven't done any thinking about that question. Brian de Lore and Winston will know all the answers though I am sure.
  14. That wasn't seen as a problem as the principal use would be for training and trials to make(among other things) NZ horses more competitive in the spring in Aussie. Racing to be essentially an 'off course' activity to generate betting.
  15. Bernard Saundry told us unequivocally at Oamaru that Cambridge has $4m now and provided it gets the money from Shane Jones' fund the process is underway. It was me asked the question why it wasn't underway (after he said they had the $4m) and he assured us that it was. Don't know why the Cambridge people would not be in the know????
  16. Not sure you and the word 'intellectual' are a great fit there young fella
  17. I didn't say she won it, I just said she got elected. Don't tell young Thomass that though you will set him off.
  18. You have to let everyone have their say Kopia. After all if you denied the simpletons a voice how would people like Jacinda Ardern get elected?
  19. I wonder if you look silly Thomass cause you sure sound like you are
  20. Try us
  21. Exactly! Someone has done a Lee Freedman on them and threatened to scratch if they didn't water the track. It had copious amounts of rain on it Friday and they are irrigating today?????? Incidentally a couple of months back I got stuck in about them watering the track and got a fair bit of rubbishing on here for saying that that day the times indicated it was worse than the published dead 4. Now on Saturdays heavy 10 come slow 9 come slow 8 they were only running a second or so slower (and comparable times in the 1200m race). Pretty hard to believe that on two tracks fully 4-6 points different they was that little difference in times posted? One might be forced to conclude that there is an element of unreliability in their pentrometer readings? We at Reefton have an excuse cos we are amateurs but according to the Prophet Winston these boys are the bees knees.
  22. All the more weight to my argument..... The worst return in the whole industry by a mile are the courses located in the population centres. Riccarton Awapuni Ellerslie Te Rapa Hastings. Turn the whole lot into quarter acre sections (bar Ellerslie which could be retained as a commercial property investment). Relocate the CJC to Darfield beside the railway line and give the punters free cartage out to and home from the track each raceday. If they got $16m for that slice of dirt on Yaldhurst Road they would get $300m plus for the whole lot. Nobody wants to go to the dump other than one day a year and it is about time the industry faced reality. Despite what the Waikato breeding and training fraternity might think. Instead of stupid Winnie and his cronies thinking the small courses are the issue the worst industry investment is all that valuable real estate returning stone cold nothing(in fact sucking the industry dry)
  23. It is your inability(in that instance)to put a coherent understandable sentence together. And you seem to have a hangup on the Aussie government's dealings with gaming agencies - they are private businesses and like all private businesses they pay their suppliers (in this case the racing clubs) and they pay tax. Where in NZ are you telling me private businesses (other than Maori Authorities and so called Charities) pay neither their suppliers nor income tax? I am talking about direct assistance to the racing industry and form where I am sitting every time the paper is picked up we hear how the NSW or Victorian government has given racing more money. What's more whatever the NZ government 'gives' the industry would be repaid hundreds and himdreds of times over by the GST, paye, petrol tax and income taxes paid by the participants on their racing activities. And I fail to see what the NZ government gives anyway.
  24. Foik that second paragraph - you should be writing tax legislation Are you saying that Kiwis aren't punters and that the NZ TAB costs too much to run?(if you are then I agree 100%)
