Adelaide was once a lovely city - maybe still is except for what MM has posted. Haven't been there for about 10 years. But their racing is certainly a few levels down on what it was. Field quality is really lacking - and the POC will not be helping. I am not sure why these groups think taxing more gets more and improves things. Rarely would it work out that way.

I see there are some concerns about the thoroughbred supposed crooks not getting policed correctly due to thoroughbreds being mixed in with the other codes that are a bunch of hopeless crooks. Have I got that right?

You'd have to say that your selections barryb and the various price assessments stand up under scrutiny. For win punters - and even for place punters. Your horses gave punters a run for their money. On FF divs, your 13 selections produced $31.00FF win and $23.00FF place. From the nine of yours I priced under TAB price shown - $31.00FF win and $17.00FF place. From the two of yours I priced under your prices $31FF win $8.70FF place. Good stuff again barry. That's the credibility we never see from the BP.

Totally agree barry. I've just been looking at bigger variances. And being different doesn't mean either party is incorrect. If you take betfair odds as a guide to chance. Their closing odds are pretty good at matching to chance at a price point over time. For a single race, there is simply no right or wrong answer- so long as over time, your assessments ultimately deliver at least reasonably in line with your assessments. As for Glory Days, I have it at $4.80. And like barry says, it could well win and I'd rather not bet on the race, or lose on something else than back it. That's simply how I bet.

For this comp, it's not so important imo, a bit of fun. For a comp like barryb suggested, yes, value is going to often be the key. Can be managed by a bet being accompanied by a screen shot of the odds quoted form the betting provider (with time of day displayed). I have some other ideas when such a comp comes about.

I'll join you on that. I'd be happy with prize must go on bet, but if that wins, prize winner gets minimum of 50% of initial prize + 20% of profit from bet. Rest goes to registered charity. i.e prize pool $600, winner gets $300 if bet successful, rest to charity. Even though I won't win, if by chance I did, all money would go to charity.
