    Yeah, the thursday nights pot betting is crazy, dogs, overseas racing, whatever… not for me. But surely will bet better on Sat with good racing🤭 Plus if they give me a $50 bonus bet, with my expertise in gambling…. easily make some coin on Sumday

    Yes, was held up but when clear couldnt run past the number 7. Did nothing in run, i am not convinced it will win a big race in Aus. Lucy was good, a bit etratic early in straight, closed well. Can see her winning a good race soon over more ground….

    I may be wrong, but i thought when Mighty Me won Derby, it was an afternoon meeting at Addington, maybe on a Weds? Any reason why? I know for many years after the race was run on a Saturday

    Totally agree… I just dont see who they are targeting, i just cant listen to them, its so cringy watching them tossing coins and throwing darts. They have drivers or trainers tip and a few, which is ok, but when the 3 of them start betting at any meeting, and take those bloody SRM… its crazy. Thank god we have a good trackside team for Friday night harness, think it is brilliant

    I remember being at Addington for Mighty Me’s win….. plenty booing as he was returning to birdcage, from memory think it paid double figures, was beaten fav previous couple runs, although i am not 100% on this… Dunhill was a pretty handy sort👍

    Great comments The Galah, Withadream2 and Gamma… That puts a different spin on changing stables, you would have thought Shand would have happily continue to train and let another driver on, who knows he could have trained a NZ cup winner. I only started following harness in early 80s and remember Borana, but forgot how dominant he was as a youngster only to see him battle a bit as an open class horse, then come out and bomb them cup day. Great memories

    George Shand did a very good job with this youngster, won them in a row against good horses. Does anyone know how the horse ended up with Peter Jones? Amazingly when it changed stables, it never won a race for nearly a year, but of course we know its next win was a biggie, the NZ cup, although did have several placings before that. I assume horse was sold out of Shand stable, any info would be great, thanks

    When NZ Tab had a monopoly, it wasnt as easy to open accounts or place bets overseas, i do all of my betting on iphone, so i have only had data for about 10 or so yrs, before that i rung tab.

    So do you think retailers just discount for the hell of it? Hardly, they do it to compete with competition. No doubt your remark regarding free bets was pointed at me, of course free bets or match deposits work, do your homework and look at every Aus operator, they need to compete. TAB used to do more…. but of course now between them and Betcha, they have a monopoly…. but they are losing customers and turnover…. desperate times which is now why they are offering special odds for those betting on machines🤣🤣. …. that tells you that they have no idea to increase turnover with on line punters….

    Agree…. Te Akau have a few out today, be interesting to see how they go at Riccarton…. was a time when they just won for fun down here, but struggle now
