  1. Well, looking at that Race 8 I doubt that will be the end of racing there today. Pretty shit track, average riders etc. Watched plenty Aus racing lately, hardly ever see a jockey fall. Yet in NZ, hardly a day goes by without someone falling off somewhere….
  2. Good field indeed. Can’t really remember but seemed the horses that were interfered with down the back was about the time Camelot started its run.
  3. Yeah, that is a good race the last. Thought Watermelon Sugar at $6 f/odds was a good bet, first decent draw for ages but downside is it’s a tough field. Only $30 on it to win, 👍
  4. The Chase…. Every chance for 3rd… no more tips for me
  5. 😆😆😆Fernz Goldy, oh dear how bad was that
  6. Well, I havnt tipped a nag for ages, but I think I have a couple tonight. R1-Fernz Goldy R2- The Chase
  7. For those that piled the dough on Victor Bravo in the last….i feel for you. Tailed off, driver showed less vigour than I do brushing my teeth…. stormed home far too late… I liked it but not at its tote price….
  8. Gee, Stable been on a roll lately, but apart from the first runner they have performed terrible. Not many times do you have a $1-40 runner settle in trail, gets a run then doesn’t pay a Div. Let’s see how they go 2nd day, but for now… DONT BET ON RED….
  9. Mmmmm, you do know it is summer and there is already an issue. How about March or April, always moisture when a cricket match comes to Auckland..
  10. CWJ would have stayed on even after a night on the juice…
  11. Mmmm, first post didn’t look like it was posted, but looks like I posted twice. Maybe delete this one chief, ta
  12. Yep, there was a buzz a lap from home as the driver was nearly getting his arms pulled off. You may remember, did this horse show a positive drug test later on back in Aus…. I thought it did but may be wrong
  13. From memory this was my first NZ Cup that I attended, only this one was special. Had a mate that knew a first starter called… Blue Water! Was told to keep it quiet as they expected it to pay $20 plus on the day. Now, was told it was smoking up the tracks and connections were pretty sure the filly could beat the boys in the first race at Addington on Cup Day. Well, that was good enough for me, took majority of my money hidden in my sock in drawer and popped into TAB on way. Put $150 win and $250 place on it at a time I was earning just over $100 per week. Met the lads on course thinking that in a few minutes my life would be changed and would have to buy more socks on the way home….Well, don’t think I can find video of race but if anyone has one I would love to see it, but here is my memory of it…. Settled fairly handy then Keith Whall punched it out to the lead…. With about 400m to go I was getting excited….had 3 lengths on field…sadly driver went too early and was run down for 4th😬 Looking at result many years later I forgot what a great field it was…and it seemed nobody kept a secret because it went out 2nd fav…. Seems those that owned her was into banking so must have got on. Walked home after Cup feeling very deflated. Horse was very over rated, won the DB Fillies in a sedate 2.03 only due to a great Jack Smolenski drive. Took months to fill up the sock…

  15. Stupid reply…,have you had a good look at it or not….. average riding
  16. Not bagging him…. Just surprised he couldn’t hold on, watch the race again
  17. Watched video a few times, looks like horse was pushed a bit towards inside rail…. But surprised that a senior rider would fall off like that? Mind you, suppose he is getting on a bit so reaction time was poor
  18. One of my favs was Hands Down, pity he struggled on tight/ right handed tracks. His cup win was brilliant, but I really looked forward to the July /August kick off at Addington. A group of us would get a hot dog, walk to the start while freezing then watch HD bobble at the start, add ground to his handicap then work around the field and be right there at the finish… big effort. Then do same with Sir Castleton… back in the days when you looked forward to a Saturday. Even watched Canterbury play at Lancaster Park then Addington put on buses to track… great days
  19. Back to earth with a thud….. surprised he fell off, didn’t look that much interference. Hope the overseas bookies not got to him😆
  20. Out again Thursday, opened $3.50 but been crushed in.
  21. Funny how nobody in the racing game put there hand up and own their mistakes. What a crock of shit, nobody released button, of course they did. Did it work ok before that race, yes…. Did it work ok after that race, yes. Don’t get sucked in again
  22. I saw that, what a crock of shit. He was only saying recently it wouldn’t matter how much or how little rain…. Track would hold up perfectly. Heads will roll on this, will be a flop once cooler weather arrives
  23. Impressive alright…. Wonder what they paid for it?
  24. Bit of a joke really…. After all the time & money spent, we still have huge issues after a few showers. If it wasn’t a big meeting and the money was up…. I doubt the meeting would have gone ahead
