Its a shame that punters are too weak to do anything about it. We all moan, but very few do anything. If we could get half the punters in NZ to stop betting for a few days, that would send a big signal to those muppets at the TAB. Lets see who are keen??

Look, I am pissed off. Tried to listen Trackside feed on iphone today through bluetooth in car. Stopped several times while listening to race, really hacked me off. So i am making a stand, I AM NO LONGER BETTING WITH THE NZ TAB. I URGE OTHERS TO TAKE SAME STAND, COME ON LETS TALK WITH OUR WALLETS, STUFF THEM!!

Was driving past Chertsey recently, and saw stables beside old greyhound track. Was it just for dog racing trials, or did it used to be used as a harness racing track? Any info would be good, I can remember some good trainers around the area. Also, Hororata course, i see recently somebody said last race was in 1984. Where was the track, and is it still there? Ta

Hope it gets it. Think in the future, once things settle down, and top class harness racing starts again, he will be missed bigtime. I would have sacked all the northern guys before sticking this guy in a studio

Yes, i know that is an option. But many do not have smart phone, and if your working, need phone for work. Know a mate who is a truck driver, never bets now as can not listen, many places do not have wifi. Massive amount of drivers on the road,

Funny thing, walked past Barrington TAB this morning. Somebody had stuck message on door. The TAB have decided to close this branch, ring this number and tell them what you think??? Truth be known, Ex Staff probably put on door

Totally agree. Those machines are ancient crap, totally slow and not user friendly. Many times i have had to swap notes because got rejected. And they still charge you to deposit with card. FFS

Oh Well, things are back to normal. Dunn runner goes out hot fav, Franco Niven but given no chance to win in a sprint home.

Surely they could just take the main trackside feed live, at least that would let punters listen to the races, especially local meetings. Could have saved by just having it on certain hours, noon to 7pm or whatever, to close completely was bullshit. I for one do a heap of driving, certainly wont bet if i can not at least listen.

Wow, this nag is going piss poor in Aus. I always thought it was overated here in NZ, but it is going crap over there. Wonder what it was sold for, makes you wonder.

Out of all of the cutbacks the TAB have made, I think stopping Trackside Radio is the worst. To the many that listen to radios, and plenty do , thats crazy.

Will be interesting to see how form holds up. I had a punt on Steve, R1. At $8 good value, huge first start. Hands Up Jack, R4 at $15, Prodigul Guiness R5 at $7 & Ghostwriter R6 at $6-50. Pretty sure will go close. Good luck

Was in the Barrington Mall in Christchurch this week. Thought I would pop into the TAB, nope not open. Rung help desk to find when it was opening, was informed its closed for good? Is this correct, where is a main TAB in christchurch that you can withdraw now, and deposit back into card??? Christ, whats gonna happen melbourne cup, nz cup week etc??

Think a guy called Craig Pierce did comments for many harness meetings. As he was a contractor, he was shown the door pretty quick. Hope my info is correct

Looks like this is confirmed for later this year. Poor old NZ TAB is really gonna find it hard in the future. They should have let another operator take them over years ago, spread the resources.
