  1. Hi Nina, I would not worry about Forbury or the aptly named Retarded Driver, they talk nonsense. Hold your head up high, you and Greg have done a good job bringing up Ben, he seems a nice young lad. As for the original post, I agree the lack of speed in many Addington races is terrible, so bad that I have stopped betting, will wait until the better races come along. Far more competitive racing at Auckland, that is where my money goes recently.
  2. You know what, I think he has a good chance. Aucklanders won’t care about his past, he is well known and will put up a fight. Will be very interesting indeed
  3. Ants has always been a quality driver, for a very long time. If he was back in nz, of course he would be in the top 6 drivers, record speaks for itself. Hope it all goes well in Aus for them, I can see the timing right, am sure they will get plenty of nz horses coming their way.
  4. Yes, last couple races Vincent trained him. Last race was from a long handicap at timaru I think, finished midfield, I had a punt on him🥴.
  5. Yeah, not sure why Maria races these horses, been a long time since she last had a winner. Didn’t know she moved up there, thought she was still in Canterbury. Drove a few winners in the 80s when working for K J Vincent, Andronicus, Spangled Lord etc
  6. Going 8 wide on the turn didn’t help it 🥴. With the exception of a few drivers, that is probably the worst junior drivers races I have seen, didn’t have a bet luckily
  7. Good oil
  8. I agree, no way was she clear before she found the rails. Really surprised it held 4th, was there an enquiry?
  9. Look, I know the girl has been getting the winners, but that drive in the first a shocker. Even more amazing, how did the horse retain 4th place, caused huge interference yet not disqualified? Can somebody explain, Ta
  10. Funny as a punter, you usually remember the times a horse is unlucky, driver gets the blame all the time. Jonny Cox on Motu Elite Hanover, not a bad horse, but had more bad luck than good, maybe driver error once or twice😆😆. I remember missing pick 6 once, horse blocked up with nowhere to go, thought it cost me a fortune, peeved for a week. Even if horse had got clear, still might not have won, but it is always different from a punters view
  11. Good on you Kim for putting him right😆. I tell you what, you certainly picked up a few of your dads driving actions, especially close to the finish. Hope it all goes well in the future with your baby, all the best.
  12. I assume they were out for running a place tonight? I would like the stipes to comment on drive, which was great until 300m, then showed little vigor until close to line, yes it was money speaking
  13. That is probably the most foolish thing you have said. If you run 2 races, both over a mile, each 2 minutes. First race 25sec first and last qtr, middle qtrs 35sec. Second race, all qtrs 30secs. It’s the same mate, yes different horses will be suited by times, suited by draws, positions etc, but times are same. As I rightly mentioned, which you obviously didn’t understand, the time on the night was not fast, one lower class race went quicker, few other races went close. That was why Copy That won it, saved for last run, look at overall times,
  14. Yep, him and his dad one of the honest good guys.
  15. Worth noting the the winner in the 2nd race went quicker on the night, while a few other lower class races were just a fraction slower.
  16. Not sure anyone has mentioned Cullen. I think many on here, including myself, watch a heap of Aus harness, I am always interested how nz horses perform. Horses that are average, or struggling to compete with the top few in nz, really do grow a leg. But if somebody can correct me, has any ex purdon horse that has been exported to Aus, performed as good or better than in NZ? Yes Turn It Up unlucky last night, but previous runs poor in Aus, went huge in nz. As for Spankem, with the draw and the run it had last night, should have won, or at least 2nd, open class horses in aus are an average lot at the moment
  17. So true
  18. The Ex NZ horses racing in Aus at the moment, are going huge. That is great for NZ owners, trainers and breeders, aussies will buy, and for good money. But come, horses coming from ex purdon stable, who would buy them. Even Chief might wonder🤭
  19. Copy That won real good at Albion Park tonight, came from well back to swamp them close to home, typical well timed run from Anthony Butt. Shame to see Spankem toss it in so easily, while Turn It Up, a shadow of his old self. Do not think many Aussie trainers will be keen to buy ex Purdon runners anymore, there is a list of good horses sent, that race very average there. Mind you, I suppose many will come up with reasons why,
  20. Is it just me, or is the Dunn stable struggling to get a winner. Got a swag of nags, but results not there. Any news?
  21. Fair enough, hope he gets better, didn’t know he was sick, won’t mention his UDR again.
  22. I suppose my thoughts, are what stock he is racing with. I know he had some better bred expensive horses earlier on, but then he started racing 2nd grade donkeys, that struggle in the sth island, so took them up north, picked his races and did well. But all of sudden, he is now winning anywhere, Santana Mach sat parked yesterday, ran away to win against good field, in good time? I am struggling to understand
  23. So if it was preventative rather than what you call, therapeutic😆, why would they give it to all horses, just before big races? Come on, you are joking
  24. Still do not think he has had a winner? Has Lydia in first race today, only horse he has at the races. Gee, must be a depressing drive to the track. Good luck with horse, poor field, but it would surprise if it paid a divvy
  25. Given time, wouldn’t mind a dollar for every time I hear that!! Lets see, no doubt it will be sold soon, Let’s see how good it goes for new owner
