  1. Yep, most agree that it is a good horse. I’m not too sure if it’s top class yet
  2. Fair enough, had great run and well driven. Kailua Flybyes run unbelievable,
  3. Good luck with Millwood Nike, no way will I be betting on it. Reason being, regardless of what you say, stable is performing far less than usual. Those that have won have had great runs in transit, not saying they are not good horses, but would have struggled to win without gun run. Previous years, their horses could sit parked, 3 wide and absolutely kick their heads in, not now. One reason you should be wary with millwood Mike, if it doesn’t get round easy, will struggle to win
  4. Boudici good outside
  5. Without me upsetting Gammalite, this must be the worst NZ cup carnival for the Purdons. Yes I know couple of hot picks have won, but overall average
  6. Newmarket

    NZ cup

Some good racing today, but need to turn TV off now after NZ Cup, that Nicole Sims doing my head in
  7. Yep, just a normal days racing in nz
  8. I thought you said it was little girls and dark skinned riders causing the carnage? You have no idea
  9. Had woman jockeys for years, pretty racist comments to me. See you have no idea, these jockeys obviously don’t have the training, experience etc. To say you now have little girls or Mauritians to dodge, FFS
  10. Must admit, this is my money talking here. But come on, what was Thornley thinking. Got a great run through, yet leaves one -one to go for lead, which was never going to happen with Blair driving the fav. This stable had some great horses in the past, and not nocking McRae, but maybe time to look at other driving options.
  11. Well, Get on those Purdon nags tonight. The moneys up, watch them have hard runs and win in fast times, unload
  12. Seems races aren’t still going ahead tomorrow.
  13. Well, This nag has been battling forever, yet wins last race easily. Be good to hear from Chris Wood on how this thing has improved?? Synthetic form has been holding up well mostly, mostly. Do we get on next time, or is it back to duck egg form.
  14. Yeah, people travelled to the races back then. I remember around 1982 or 1983, used to work extra hours on a Saturday, which was paid in cash. Addington was on that night and my 2 favs were out, Sir Castleton and Hands Down. Stuck the $40 on Sir Castleton which I think paid about $3, then stuck the $120 to win on Hands Down. From memory it only just got up on the post, and amazingly I think it paid about $6, Our Mana was hot Fav. Walked to the outside stand after last race to collect, only had mainly small notes left, my pockets were bulging😆. Best thing, I don’t think the TAB was open until Thursday, so no chance to give it back. Funny how you remember the good days, mind you I remember some shockers too 😬
  15. I like the old days. Hands Down would come out in August racing fresh and usually win or go close and still be peaking for cup day. When you think of those old trainers, they were very skilled in getting their horses to peak, sth island open class racing started in August at Addington, right through to the Easter Cup, even had racing in Forbury in April.
  16. Nice post Galah, you got my points down pat, and yes I was a bit harsh on you Gammalite so I take some of comments back, and no I wasn’t drinking when I posted 🤭. I don’t knock the Purdon stable, their record over the years have been amazing, but I am puzzled by some aspects of the harness game. The blood spinning thing, I assume it is still being used? If so, is it fair that it is being used at certain times, especially when the big bucks are up, I didn’t have a bet last night on any Purdon runners, but some punters would have got burnt bigtime. Come cup time, these nags will be sitting 3 wide, surging to the lead easily, yet last night several well performed nags were beaten with 400m to go. Great to see Ben Butcher drive aggressively on BD Joe, won him the race, while the fav went very well sitting parked. Need more of this type of driving,
  17. At least trackside will have more time to show premier racing from Aussie. Will be less horses falling in NZ today, so that’s another positive.
  18. At last somebody telling it how it is.
  19. What a load of shit. Take ya hand off it and listen. I AM NOT BAGGING THE PURDON STABLE. I am telling you that when the money is not up, they under perform, simple as that, if you have a single brain you will agree. Put the bottle away mate, it’s not doing you any good, your a disgrace to even call yourself Gammalite, poor horse
  20. Well, as expected most of their nags have performed well below expectations so far tonight. In fact some of them have turned in shockers. Don’t bet until the moneys up and the spinning starts.
  21. Yep, same issue last night, mind you some of my horses were slowing down last bit of race, so hard to tell😆. On another note, commentator at Ruakaka today. Nearly every race he gets excited calling outside horse, which was never a chance of winning. I know he is trying to be exciting, but come on, call the race as you see it
  22. If people cared, we would have less horses falling. I was joking about the TAB option
  23. Another couple of nags fell in last race at Matamata today. TAB should run odds on how many horses fall a week. 5 plus would be a good option, Per runners, NZ has the worst rate of falling runners. Still, nobody cares
  24. You watch also, they will stop all the promos once they have little competition
  25. So the TAB think that by stopping NZ punters betting in Aus, that the amount will automatically be spent at the NZ Tab? Hardly, if I can’t bet with Aus operators, tab won’t get any more money off me.
