  1. Yes, Arna doing well, as are some other small trainers.
  2. $5500??? FFS, your joking arent you? By the time you pay costs, you are well into the red. Not knocking the guy, and yes, others have said, his owners are not paying for much of costs, but usually most trainers take horses with a chance to be competitive, but as you say, its more of a sleepover trip. Well done, happy new year
  3. If he is having a punt, hope he gives his nags a swerve
  4. Trent Yesburg for one, Regan Todd, plenty of them. I think your an older type person that never thinks outside the square. Try it sometime, look at other options, you might surprise yourself
  5. I think Chris Waller does a great job. As for the Purdons, I sit on the fence. I used to think more of the stable until the spinning stories came out, that got a cross mark for me. But yes, I think it is positive for NZ harness when the stable departs, I am sure some of the horses will go to other stables, so it will make NZ racing more even. Auckland have had 6 races already, All Stars yet to salute, even with red hot favs. Maybe this will be the norm?
  6. Just to add, Dean Taylor is another one struggling. Although, with a better drive, Baileys Diamond should have won down south. I know that some of his owners have purchased horses for good money to give them a better show of winning, but certainly the results are not coming. Great to have loyal clients, but their comes a time when maybe you should try one of the many up and coming trainers, just my view
  7. Well, Wonder what to expect tonight? Runner in first race went poorly, could hardly pace, finished last? I suppose they will win the major races with so many runners, so team driving will be to the fore. I have heard that a few owners may be looking for other trainers, which to me would be a good thing. Anyway, whatever you think of the stable, an era is about to come to an end.
  8. Fair enough if that is the case. Its an expensive trip gambling and boozing, without taking nags for a ride. I know the coast caters for lower class racing, but looking at the last weeks racing, it is getting worse. As for the Hopes, yes they had poor circuit. Lets hope Bens neck is ok, he is looking begind him more than in front😳
  9. This guy must be a great salesman, to tell his owners the nags they own will be competitve on the coast. They all went crap, against piss poor opoosition?? What was he thinking, I would be disgusted if i was one of his owners. Keep those battlers at manawatu!!
  10. Starkers at $8-50 a good bet in race 3, i think its that race. Had no luck recently, good draw will see him handy, will run on good. Teds Legacy $10 and Daggy Lamb $21, well worth a few bucks, in same race, but both worth betting on.
  11. Nice that the TAB is running these. But come on, the fixed odds on these runners are well unders, around 30% to 40% what they should be? Bittersweet.
  12. Horse loves the mile, great gate speed. Not so good over longer distances, good option would be to send him to Aus.
  13. Well, people go to jail for fraud.
  14. WTF? Of course this will end in court. Tip of the iceberg
  15. I think those in the game knows what this is all about. No doubt it will all come out soon, but not looking good at this stage.
  16. I backed this horse today each way, thought it was a good thing. What was Ottley doing? Had lovely run 3 back, ample chance to get off fence, yet sat there. No room, late for 3rd???? Fine her for not giving her horse every chance to win!
  17. Watched first 2 races, what a shit track. Needed to close
  18. Yep, that was terrible
  19. So he knows nothing, not been charged, yet has tossed his licence in?? Come on
  20. Thought same
  21. Usually, trainers only take a year off when charges are ahead🤔🤔
  22. Think Nat has hinted over the last couple of years that she was getting a bit tired of driving, so if your running out of puff while driving and winning in big races, sort of tells you she has had enough. Hayden Cullen, this is a surprise, will the big owners support him the same as purdon? I doubt it very much, think we will see less top horses in his stable, so could be a good thing shared around
  23. Lets face it, when Classie Brigade wins, it has manners, dunn gets away with murder, and runs home to win. Its a plodder
  24. Wow, have they ever gone so bad on a big day? John Dunn cant take a trip. I will leave Sundees Son a miss, bit I do like Spellbound, but no confidence in stable.
  25. Those outside horses had a huge advantage, what a joke
