Methven Punters Comp!

Kakama

Recommended Posts

Cough. Following a fair bit of success at Methven over the past few years, a few of my mates are sufficiently confident to throw their hat into this ring, and drag me along with them. You know what they say about pride cometh before a fall...  Under public pressure, we'll probably crumble completely and lose the lot!?

Anyway, I am very much the weak sister of this team. So in order to make some kind of contribution (which will probably be ignored anyway), I would appreciate BOAY posters passing on any good bully you may possess. For the (my) greater good, don't keep it to yourselves!

Thanks in anticipation,

Basil

I hear they too busy bagging, Brodie.

They just can't let it go.

Back in town, and yes I saw that the Darkside were mentioning “The Brodster” again.

It looked like it came from the grandmaster himself, The Scoobie Doo!

Actually, I take it as a huge compliment in that they haven’t forgotten me, and yet I haven’t been over there for such a long time, seems like eternity.

Thankyou Darkside, as it appears that Brodie will live forever over there in their eyes, so to leave such an impression, I must’ve been veryvworthwhile for their site!!

I see the grand master seems to be seriously kissing butts now and throwing money at everything to keep people, you could get a sponsorship deal to go back for a cameo Brodie, they need something to pep snore café up?

No.

No track in Vegas of course as the horses would die of heat exhaustion.

The Rockies they would die of frost bite. Massive snowfall as we were leaving. Lucky to get out of Banff!

New York, couldn’t be bothered as hassle with the trains getting to the Meadowlands.

You wouldn’t rent a car and drive over there as they are mad and drive on the wrong side!!

Half the world seems to be entering the comp this week.

I can see it being brutal for most. Will it be last man standing?

I have never been in one but I imagine the lead will fluctuate heaps as people get lucky at odds.

$500 entry fee happy, good to be involved with a small syndicate a few people to blame if you go down the gurgler!!

Your right, New York Nice but bugger driving round there. I went with the wife 10 years ago for 5 nights, but between her and logistics I never got to the trots ...Be interesting to know what sort of crowds they get at the night trots there, considering the extremely large population.

We went to Meadowlands probably about 5 years ago.

I think the pokies keeps the place going and they have give always to the oldies to get them to the casino.

As for the racing, boring as hell and not watched by too many.

Most of them looked like they were down and outers really unfortunately.

The Racing is extremely over rated and I don’t believe that the enthusiasts here would be over there!

Although, Iraklis would be into it, I am sure !  YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAGOOOOOO etc.etc.

Will be interesting — Mt Hutt apparently had its biggest snow dump (45cm) of the season last night. Down in Methven, my freshly-groomed car is covered in the white stuff (?), although it's melting now as the sun is out and there isn't a cloud to be seen. But it's cold, and there was a lot of hail and rain yesterday, so a dead/soft track seems inevitable.

Basil,

I like Pine Cone in Race 6. A lot.

Yes squirrel, come in westview and kakama, how are you guys getting on?

Well, I'm pleased to report that my group split into two teams and one of them won! Admittedly not the one I was in (as I predicted, we lost the lot, despite utilising Counter Punch's excellent tip!) But reflected glory and all that...?

My 'other team' were 8th going into the last race, but put a $300 place bet on Leading The Way @ 7s and somehow jumped all the way to 1st.  The strategies employed by some of the leading teams seemed a little peculiar...

BTW, where has the public grandstand gone?

Explain, I am interested.

Was it a minefield all day?
