OLDWHITEMAN
Hobby trainer M. Gill had one of the worst UDR of all time last season. This season he will be hoping to better that dismal effort. Going by his stable representative He's Fast and Furious (should be more aptly named He's Slow and Feeble) performance in Race 5 at Kaikoura this afternoon that will be difficult. What a poor effort again from this horse , which was beaten at the 800m mark and battled home from there. Clearly, the horse is not fit, like most from this stable, and should not have been at the races. Why race an unfit horse?
Mardy
Holy shit its you again.Surely you said your bit last time out?..so no idea why you have to start up again.I do not know Mark Gill, but as for his horse that was in today i have backed it on more than one occasion and if it hasn't won for me,it's got in the money quite a few times so he is not the worst horse out there and im sure Mark isn't the worst trainer out there either, not everyone can have royally bred horses,he does the best with what he's got.And considering Mark lives up here in Blenheim there is not that many trials/workouts run in this neck of the woods,so the best way his horses are going to get fit is by appearing on race day.Surely you've said your bit and you can let it lie. 3

Geez Thoroughbred trainers use racing all the time to get their horses fit in NZ. Doesn't happen so much at the OZ metrop meetings because the big money's always up.

I can say what i like Mr Mardy. Who are you to tell me that I am not entitled to my opinion? Have I ever sent an abusive reply to you? Get over yourself mate, and stick to giving out tips. I do not believe that a horse should be at the races when it is not fit to race. Surely to send a horse to the races that drops out with 800m is wrong? Whether Mark Gill lives in Blenheim is irrelevant; he trains the horse and it should be fit when it leaves his property. I live in Blenheim quite a bit too. A competent trainer can get a horse race ready without trials. He's Fast and Furious is slow, poorly gaited and trained, and weak. I think the horse doesn't like racing and should be retired.

Joe Kidd
I recall He's Fast and Furious running a very good and close second behind God Only Knows on the first day of the Blenheim meeting at Blenheim in January. Had next up winner so I backed it and tipped it out on here for the second day despite drawing the second row. Ran a pretty average 5th or 6th on the second day behind ordinary horses so I said never again. Has enough ability to win three or four races but I'd only ever include it in the thin end of trifectas and first fours after that run. There are hundreds of bread and butter horses going around just like He's Fast and Furious who's trainers manage to get the best from the horse's despite limitations. 1

The Furious old boy paid 14s too. Be a good drive home for the trainer.
