SLB2.0
Watch his ride in Race 3 at Oamaru I hope he gets a long holiday for not making any effort in the straight to ride out his horse, which was in contention. Are there any excuses for his ride on Manzappeal? Did he think it was a trial?
Murray Fish
it didn't look to be racing that kindly at times.. seemed to take off around the 500m and looked a bit unsteady rounding that last bend, it it hit it it might have gone worse!
SLB2.0
He can still ride it out without using the whip
Mardy
According to stewards report,he locked onto one rein,so he felt that if he went for it the horse would have gone to the outside fence. I did back the horse and yea on the turn i was like 'well this will bolt in' but no. I know Kenny has a lot of time for Akshay, and i can't imagine he would of just decided to not ride it out, unless there was something going on..which going by the report there was, No doubt a lot of people will be gunning for him,so to speak, but that won't be me.
Mustang Kenny
In Akshay's defence it was a very hard ride. The horse clamped down on the bit so badly has has hurt his mouth and gums, which we are treating. He is a dream at home but fires up in the race. We WILL sort him out and will happily have Akshay back on him or any of my horses. Akshay is a very good rider who reads a race well and listens to both horse and trainer. On top of that he is a genuinely lovely man who is thoroughly decent and hard working. Fortuntely he knows NOT to listen to keyboard warriors who have no idea of the facts or circumtances and who more often than not speak from their wallets. To the brave out there ... don't let this horse go 😜
SLB2.0
I questioned the ride, which I'm allowed to do. Not speaking through my wallet. Who on earth bets at Oamaru? I wanted an answer for the ride and someone kindly posted the stipes report, which was great. Unfortunate for connections, as it appeared to be in front at the time he was forced to stop riding, but that's racing.

SLB2.0
Thanks to Mardy and Kenny for posting and clearing things up. I was hoping it would be something circumstantial. No thanks to the other who contributed nothing to this thread.

You bagged a Jockey at a racecourse you have no interest in punting on. Not only that without any idea what was happening you publically stated you hope he gets a long holiday!! BEFORE you even bothered to look for the stipes report!!

Probably neither are appropriate in this context as there were clear reasons for the ride.
