Are you there SA? The place looks deserted on TV.

No. Have you ever seen so few spectators at such an event?

$50 entry for general admission is steep.  They seem to be trying to be something they aren't.

Perhaps the WRC should look at what Flemington do away from the carnival and for that price include a $30 food and beverage voucher, a book and punters club ticket.

Residential creep shown in 'creepy' detail by the drone footage suggests this once great track is on the way out. NZTR Venue Plan says 'quote' the potential redevelopment of RACE Trentham, IF IT PROCEEDS, is likely to commence after Wellington Cup week in January 2026 'unquote'

I think they pulled the pin on that after learning from the experience of the Auckland trots.

Heck, hope they had their stop watches calibrated, seems a tad fast, gates in correct position.

A couple of weeks ago Steph Hunt mentioned Trentham 'times' were under investigation

You'd think NZTR/Race would actually announce that fact rather then punters having to find out 2nd hand

Yeah I'm very skeptical on those times, the pace they were going you wouldn't need the stopwatch, more like the alarm clock, reefton another track I'm suspect on times, one year they ran 2.03 and change for 2000m, 1020m times last meeting were around the 1.03 mark, yet the 1400m were 1.25, they did shift the winning post many years ago after one horse went over the outside rail taking another with it, wasn't tracks fault, jockey to busy celebrating an forgot to steer her mount around the corner, recovered the horse heading through blacks point, Gold dust was its name.
