Compare the price you got to SP. You have to beat SP by a margin if you want to be profitable. Keep a journal. Write down things you noticed during your day of punting that might be useful in the future. Don't rely on your memory unless you are very special. If you did something really clever write it down. If you did something really stupid write it down and underline it. Review your journal regularly. Try and find an edge. Don't make studying form your sole focus. Focus on getting the best possible price you can and be patient. I do keep a record of all bets and the last 6 months I am up overall across my 3 accounts. I do find the bonus bets a big help, getting free bets is something we never had until recently smith TAB, would have loved it 20 yrs ago. Somebody did tell me once which I do every week, withdraw your money out on a Sunday evening, nobody will offer you many match deposit/ bonus offers if you have money in account. Sure enough, it works. So there goes your theory about me losing all my money, that’s not me.

However, if you have a winning month, you can expect absolutely nothing the following month. They know what they're doing, and they know deposit matches will likely end in you losing your month - both the deposit and the bonus bets. It's why advertising sign-up bonuses in Australia is illegal. It's a bit like roaming the streets and asking people if they want a quick taste of some cocaine, before ultimately selling them a bag. The TAB usually offer bonus back on earlier races, for me today first 4 races gallops and first 2 races harness. I assume many will get same offer, although some differ. TAB obviously want people betting on more races, so looking at those that bet on more races for turnover?

SLB2.0
Your bonus offers are purely dependent on your win/loss for that month. If you're winning, expect less. If you're losing, expect more. It's not hard to figure out why they do this. Is it moral? No, but there has to be some responsibility on the player to realise he's losing, no matter how many bonus back races or how many deposit bonuses they receive. In terms of problem gambling, offering a deposit bonus isn't good. If you're trying to stay away from the punt, but get offered a 100% or 200% depo bonus, that's almost impossible to turn down. It's why gambling affiliates have struggled in the last five years (in Australia) because they can no longer advertise "sign up to sportsbet for a $500 deposit bonus match". And I'm still shocked the NZ TAB (now Entain) doesn't use an affiliate marketing model, especially considering Ladbrokes and their other offshore bookmakers do.

Not sure that’s 100% true, they factor in many things
Shab
So Entain no longer restrict winning punters but shower them with 50% deposit match and bonus back on the first four races offers instead. Pull the other one its got bells.

Pull the other one it’s got bells. So do you have accounts? Do you get offers? Tell us more you seem to know everything. As I mentioned earlier, last year on Trackside a QR code let anyone deposit $50 to get $50 extra…. I suppose that never happened? Me thinks TAB /Betcha having an all out blitz offering customers promos, getting more accounts opened. Then hoping government stops punters betting in Aus, at which time offers in NZ will decrease or stop… hoping to once again have a monopoly. No doubt a few TAB staff will be getting restless…. didn’t they only agree to keeping staff on for 2 yrs, must be getting close.

I suppose that never happened? They had a similar offer when I walked on course for the NZ Trotting Cup to sign up to Betcha. I spin their wheel which could have doubled the offer but all I won was a pair of socks with BETCHA printed on them. Anyway when I used the code for the offer it wouldn't give me the full offer. So I suspect some offers are adjusted. Who knows but what I've been told is if you win a lot you don't get any offers or at best reduced ones.
Newmarket
It has been advertised on Duke TV that everyone is offered up to $100 for Karaka boost promo… So check in your promo section…even those that state TAB never give everyone anything…. makes them look a little silly. Bloody hell Newmarket. I just looked under promotions and discovered the $100 offer. I would never have known it was there. I have never had any texts or emails about it and there was nothing indicating it on my account. I suppose I am a bit silly for not spotting it. I have never looked under promotions before. I think you can use bonus cash just like normal money when betting can't you? No need to use it all at once. But I think you can only use it on fixed odds, is that correct?
