The 2 Days of Xmas Comp

Wouldn't be Xmas on BOAY without a comp, so here we go

Simple comp, Boxing Day and New Years Day at Ellerslie, 10 races each day, one selection per race, 2 best bets per day, $1 ew on your selection.  Winner with the highest total at the finish of NYD.

Closes at the start of racing on each day, no subs, scratchings can be replaced, up until close, then it's onto the sub.

Everyone welcome, including our well versed comp players from the dark side, only catch, you have to register here

It could mean Bad Punting for some or perhaps the Masterclass BP (also known as Back Punting) for others.

Yep, it'll need a comp where entries close "at the start of racing on each day" but the day after the events you are betting on. I assumed that's what you meant in your rules? Should be a close contest that way too.

Hesi spent much time slagging R C for comps and now wants to introduce the same crap here.

Best intentions I guess Hesi, but it’s a bore and a flawed format that favours those whom fluke a long priced winner. Fark all skilled involved in most cases with that sort of thing.

The only way they are fair and work is for each to have an allocated bank and they chose the investment amount, Allow the bank to grow etc.

The section is called galloping chat, not comps,  as I said Hesi was quick to poke shit at cafe for comps everywhere to try and boost numbers and a month later he is suggesting the same.

Settle folks, the thread was only to alert posters that don't normally visit the Comp section, that there was a comp.

Entry thread would only have been in the comps section.

Simple format as I don't have heaps of time available over the Xmas break.

The thoughts are to run another one at some stage along the lines of what Barry is talking about.

My inane chatter has a purpose, part of which seems to be working

The thought has always been to run a comp with a starting pool of $100K, over a period of 10 weeks, all meetings in NZ/Aus, all bet types, still a lot of flesh to put on the bone

But it takes a lot of work, so Xmas/New Year is not an ideal time

Any input into the format appreciated.
