Thank you for that Pam.  I often think it be a great idea if someone in authority was to keep an eye on comments on places like this and come on occasionally to clarify situations which might often have a simple explanation.

Yes, absolutely.

In the very early days of Channel X [ Dave and Ange ] there was a Q & A session, once a week/month, not sure as I wasn't around.  But someone from NZTR would answer genuine queries and I think it was a really good option.

Probably keeping it courteous might have been a problem, otherwise there would have been no reason for the section to be removed.

It went to the jumpouts and couldn't even get a barrier certificate there.

My understanding is (as in CW's comments above), that was because she was ridden at the jump outs by a stable track work rider and it was ruled she had to be ridden by a licensed jockey in order to receive a barrier certificate.

That's from 32 starts with never even a warning from the stipes about her barrier manners?

Yes but that seems to be an administrative issue not a reflection on the horses behaviour.  If you can point me to the official report online that says she was nailed for her barrier manners in her last start I'd be grateful.

No, apparently they all worked on her and she refused flatly.

Once everyone had given up and decision made she went in on her own!

I think Donovan was on at some stage.

I don't think trackwork riders can ride at jumpouts?  have to be licensed.

For example my lad could ride if needed, as he is a ticketed amateur jockey.

EARS BACK (K Hercock) - Declared a late scratching at 4:11pm after refusing to load. Connections were advised that
EARS BACK is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of a Stipendiary Steward prior to racing next.

Ok so there was a race after the last one on its profile at NZTR but it isn't listed because it didn't start.

Sorry I'm with @Freda on this one.

I had the ear of Head Office back then, and championed HO to be pro active! Minimal effort was put in, but without self discipline from some! excuses were found to stop it!

Recently on a Facebook thread, a technocrat from HO jumped into a thread (stating he happened to work at HO) and that x was the fact of the matter! Simple and refreshing! but sadly not the norm!

Typical shallow shit from you! any smart leadership will have their  heads around platforms that allow organic feedback! What has been lacking has been the backbone and political nous and intellectual skill to use these social media forums!

Of course! anyone that has a understanding of racing history and how as a Industry! especially Head Office! has lagged years behind in the move into the digital area!

Posts like this aimed against other posters and contributors are EXACTilley the reason those in Authority of any kind in Racing Should and Do dodge any social media forums. And a pretty sour generalization of a broad group it is too .

It was aimed directly at Tab! I meant every word in it! happy to share similar in person with him! Would love to debate in a public racing forum! All power to the drink aid!

Re Head Office getting involved! that can't happen! no staff with the needed institution memory any more!  Having said that, there has been some very creative digital images being produced recently.

Is that a jump out rule specific to Riccarton?

Wrt barrier certificates I think so.

You used to be able to get barrier certificates from the old wooden gates but not now, the overhead ones must be used and licensed riders.

That was the problem with a horse I inherited  as he wouldn't accept the overhead gates and there was no opportunity to work with him in those gates other than at trials or official jumpouts.

So I had to send him to Wingatui where those gates were available any time wanted.

Well Murray , first you hurt my feelings , then you double down on your bullyboy comments then you welcome a confrontation and some sort of debate !

What the hell on ?

I was trying to be polite with my choice of word....tosser . Are you gonna prove to others on here your superiority in what field ? Or is yours bigger than mine ? etc ....You appear to have returned to live in Dunedin , seems very odd at your age .I assume you not a scarfie .

Most people join the 3 x best things to come out of Dunedin ASAP. 1] The road to Christchurch 2] the road to Central Otago [Cromwell , Clyde ans Wanaka] or even 3] The road to Invercargill. You move there ...ha,ha Racing almost completely lost its soul and participants in Dunedin and surrounds .If the Andertons and Kennedys left there would be ZERO Racing.

Harness training ceased and Forbury Park closed , and most of the galloping fraternity left too. Doomed can explain that Wingatui only survives thru favourtism.

what else can you debate and bully me on ! Career and work. You claim to have 100,000 horse photos. I have 6 , but they all Group 1's plus 150 at the beach and 150 travel ! And the photographers I know are mainly wimps who couldn't pull a sailor off their sister who hang around race meetings with their hand on it ...the clicker. And they have the personality of postage stamps or worse still dead fish ! I guess Tom Llloyd rode a 100cc motor bike and drunk gin , and Taylor Strong doubled up on print ,ditto Jack Morris who trained a bit.

I even did a bit of stuff for a few papers so picked a few more winners than you !

So dunno how you gonna confront me....you keyboard warrior you !

Dreams are free....I realise Cherry farm closed in 1990's but did Ashburn Hall take you back to Dunedin ?

I see Ears Back went around ok at the Ashburton trials today, so presumably all good for Saturday.

Must have gone in the gates ok. Out of season now. One of the quietest trials I've ever seen after that!  Nominated for Saturday I see. Hope they have her on regumate.
