Guest CrossCodes
Great scenes, the southerners have turned up to play today! Made for great viewing and almost had a tear in the eye, well done the while Pitman crew!
Reefton
Yes well done Pitty. Great to see a great supporter of West Coast racing getting a great result in the big one. And who was it bagging southern form on here a couple of weeks back? Edited January 19, 2019 by Reefton

billy connolly
Phenominal result to get that horse to peak two years running against quality opposition. Third horse's run was just as meritorious from outside barrier. M. Pitman has come a long way since Ben Ahee and southern racing would be the poorer without him and his wife. Reefton
The Swiss Maestro another northern reject who returned for Pitty to kick arse as well. Amazing how the southerners are so competitive when it comes Wellington Cup time
Newmarket
Dee and gee 2nd? Great results by south island, but you must ask about lack of quality horses in nz at the moment. No wonder race times are not getting quicker

Shad
Thought I had a good day on the punt, with Dee n gee the quinella with the two raise the flags Iman Jima and countess ruby. Got my bets on early only only to discover for some reason I hadn't, bugger, new site got me bamboozled, my fault for not double checking. I got caught the other week, thought I had a nice trifecta, but after the race went to look at my account and total funds still the same, checked my betslip and the bet was still on there, i know I had pressed "accept" but sometimes I notice now I get an 'accept" then another "accept" straight after bloody frustrating!

Done the same. I have to be careful, aus apps let you just put amount on exotic bets, so spend $30 will get you a %. Tab app gives you same option, but i have clicked on top option, which lets you place $1 units, luckily for me today, i didnt have $5k in acc, otherwise it would have accepted bet, and it lost, oouuch

Yeah, I thought I'd done it right, glad in one way Dee n gee didn't win, was around 80s fixed, but very frustrating, how many times do you have to push except button. Also missed out on the gore cup winner to, never any hassle with old site. 2

Not far off the track record and the record was set on a lightning fast track!! Back then that the winner (and others) probably couldn’t walk freely for 10 days!
Shad
Don't quite believe that 1.06, seem just to fast on what looked like a dead track, certainly was great racing there yesterday, with those tight finishes, and top showings from the south, I need some practice on the new tab site.My bets never went on and that was the only sour note of the day. Will have to check them all next time.
Fred
The fast times are usually set on a track with a bit of give in it -not on concrete like going. Trentham and Riccarton are conducive to fast times over 1200m because of the track lay out.
Weasel
See below (ex Race Base) Enzo's Lad's time yesterday 1:06:95 is 7th fastest since 1996. No surprise that Trentham and Riccarton dominate...Ellerslie appears 3 times in the Top 100 !! As noted by Fred, Trentham and Riccarton 1200m layout are dog-legs, therefore conducive to faster times. Of course there was a time when Pitty was himself a purely Australian trainer -about the same time the famous Gabriel Marie was training in NZ.
