Do you think this announcement might have slightly upset @Reefton?

Meeting News
Waverley 28 January Stakes to $25,000

The Waverley twilight meeting on Wednesday 28 January will run for stakes of $25,000 for all eight races. This brings it in line with all twilight Wednesdays from mid-January through to the end of March.

So the ONLY Wednesday meeting this year that didn't get twilight funding was ???

And to make matters worse, Reefton on a weekday with industry funding did oncourse turnover of $132k.

The following Sunday, ATR (feature meeting at Ellerslie qith 460k stakes) just managed 100k.

Well done reefton, good turnover for very small fields and a week day,any idea of off course turnover, may have been a 5$ entry, time to spread those stakes around a bit more, I'm sure some smaller clubs with better turnover be grateful.

Kumara on course 430k

Off 2.517k

Ellerslie off course 2.488k

I'm not sure what your point is.  You aren't exactly comparing apples with apples. For a start:

Kumara had 9 races.

Ellerslie had 8 races.

My point was about Reefton.

Turnover per race was 311k Ellerslie (stakes 460k)

280k Kumara (stakes 240k)

I think you actually find those good on course turnovers at many of the small holiday venues is pushed by tote betting by the non regular race goers, they don't care about fixed odds, probably don't care about horse racing that much either but just enjoying the summer outings that become traditional for many.

What do you mean , turnover is turnover in total figures in my understanding?

Holiday meetings have lots of holiday makers who may not have, TAB accounts, and obviously with a good crowd on course turnovers are good , not rocket science.....like most things be nice to get all these figures broken down, I'm sure Omakau on Jan 2 would be interesting.

You are probably right. Kumara and Reefton the oncourse was about 50/50 terminal:digital. Ellersle was about 25/75

I understand,  but I thought the assessment was on turnover figures not the type of turnover.  Those scenarios have little to do with total turnover in my view.

Interesting one, for me holiday makers, i wouldn't imagine spending up to much on betting, then I guess if theirs enough of them may make a difference.
