Do you really think i have to spell it out for you?

How about  you start with those who have previously been charged with similar offences.  The best way to predict current behaviour is to look to past behaviour.

Also you should look at those stables that have abnormally high injury rates which would indicate the use of pain suppressants. And occasionally there have been examples of sudden multiple deaths at stables, although i'm not aware of any stables who have had that in the last couple of years.

Then just go watch the way some horses come back to scale after running record times, and look like they could go and run again in the next race. The occasional horse can do that, but every horse in the stable?

Like i said some stables can do this and still  say they are doing nothing illegal, often because they are ahead of the game in that respect.

i think the above is limited to a handful of stables.

In the big scheme of things i don't think Mcgrath was a big fish in that respect. Just an easy catch.

I should say i believe the same applies in both the north and south island.   One, of the most inconsistent stables in the north island has horses who often run average at cambridge but go way better at auckland.. I'm thinking of a second tier stable here. just have a look at the published tco2 levels for an indication of why.

On one hand its confirmation of what anyone with 2 eyes open has been saying for years.

No you don't need to spell it out but those other 'stables' continue to operate outside the law quite nicely even though anyone with 2 eyes open knows it?  So why change.

McGrath may have just run of out of cards in his deck to play with and he knew it.

Youv'e got to start somewhere. Turning a blind eye had been the standard modus operandi by previous stipes/ RIU for years. How may times did they come out and warn that they would be testing for... in the future.  Why,because they and industry leaders were never interested in catching anyone. Its always had been just hot air.

Make no mistake, the previous inaction of the RIU is partly responsible for much of the current cases . Go back a few years and you had those running the show doing everything they could to cover up any wrongdoings, and the stipes openly picking on the small fry participants over nothings while turning a blind eye to blatant corruption.

Now the  current RIU  have actually taken action they should be given credit for their actions. Not rubbished and be attacked personally like so many seem to do.

When did their ethos change? Gradual or sudden?

I think that came about  partly a result of  new personnel within the RIU and partly because of revelations gaining traction outside the RIU that had to be addressed.. Its been gradual.. And i don't always agree with some of their actions, but i understand they are trying to enforce the rules and deserve credit for taking that approach

Its not just on the investigation side of things.  Look at the stipe report side of things.    Those who operate in the north island have been round for years and seem half blind sometimes when it comes to some high profile drivers. The younger south island stipes don't seem to miss much in comparison and don't give preferential treatment if you are high profile..

At the end of the day the industry requires punters, and punters need to believe the integrity side of things are being taken care of.

But blossom they were hiding like little kids I'm sure that's not in the rules that he would have signed

I know they can come on to your property but I think you will find that they have to let you know that they are there when they arrive

No they were hiding in the bushes so no looking around

Somebody was obviously tipped off for RIU to take such measures. Given the Driving charge etc he or those he associates with him might have some serious enemies. Seems a pattern is possibly emerging?

Yes maybe so but cant they be adults about it and go and say hey we gave had some one say your doing some naughty things do you mind if we look around

Surely you would agree that at this stage nobody bar the RIU,NM and his Accomplice know exactly what was said or happened. As its coming up before the JCA for now any comments are just speculative.
