Addington coverage - Trackside

A bouquet (a cheap one, maybe from PaknSave or from Hagley Park, not roses or anything too expensive) has to be given to the Trackside TV crew for their coverage tonight at Addington harness. 

It helps not having wall to wall racing, with races coming in from Okinawa etc, so we have good 5-6-7+ minute lead-ins, with Mr O'Connor interviewing trainers, showing recent trial videos etc I can't actually fault it. 

The only thing I would add to enhance the coverage... would be some canned laughter, just like how Fox Sports add the fake crowd background noise, during the broadcast of the current NRL "fanless" games. Add the canned laughter when Greg O'Connor's suggested bets pop up on screen.

It was pretty good.

They had the night to themselves which helped. I wonder what will happen on Sundays etc when you don't have such a harness person in the studio or are competing with other meetings.

So the Invercargill meeting has comments on the TAB site for each horse but they are not on the HRNZ website under the fields.

Why is that?

So the TAB dumps the concept of comments due to costs but accepts them freely from a club?

Back to normal poor coverage again with the 2 minute lead in to the invercargill race 6.  The aussie jumps race obviously takes precedence.

Just heard the trackside presenter say domestic action takes precedence as she crosses over to invercargill with 59 seconds to go. Commentator gets to mention 1 horse before they go up to the mobile.

The local harness coverage has turned to shite, evenAddington Friday night was very poor!

TAB doesnt care, more races the better and doesnt seem to matter where they are from!

I feel the reality is that punters are going to vote with their feet.
