aquaman
Just looked at the Melbourne rain radar and it tells me not over yet.

Are you a glass half empty type? Which radar are you looking at? The BOM radar shows rain easing.
aquaman
My info says 90% rain till 10 am Melbourne time. After that down to 10%.

Not raining. 3mm expected over next hour or so. Concurs with my radar analysis. Will start Soft5 not expected to get worse according to Track Manager. Chief Stipe
Well don't listen to Track Manager's! Eternal optimists! Now a Soft 7.
Chief Stipe
Russian Camelot, Buckhurst and Mugatoo. Can't leave Probabeel out..... Pretty even field really. Changed my mind again. Kolding.
Chief Stipe
Three European bred Stallions in the first three! Four European breds in the first four! Ouch.... When you look at Sir Dragonet's last second to Magical in the Tat's Gold Cup....well....Amory 3rd! All looks ominous for a downunder win in the Melbourne Cup! Chief Stipe
Well Aquaman you got the money. I think the track held up really well considering the rain - a true Soft 7 IMHO.
aquaman
I thought it opened up, lots of kick back. It was the undoing of Probabeel down on the fence. My horse benefited by the soft going. Wider draws an advantage towards the end.

mumbles
James Cummings appears to be going thru a lean period in the big races.Still training winners but not as often in the big ones that would appeal to Godolphin imo.
Freda
Happens to everyone. The bigger operations, generally can weather things a bit better, more ammunition..but - swings and roundabouts.
Noodlum
Heard Glen Boss interview done this morning. Sir Dragonet wouldn't have blown a match out after the race. Considering Maher has only had him for two weeks makes you wonder how much upside there is. You'd have to pick him on a soft track in the Melbourne Cup.
