Mark D Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Yes many tried to warn them about this clown but THEY knew best. Still didn't think this would be the way he went. BTW he was RACE CEO. That's the thing with mergers - your problems are inflicted on others Quote
Joe Bloggs Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Is this bloke's initials AR by chance? Quote

Chief Stipe Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Alasdair Robertson - was it him that stole the horse ambulance? Does this add to the list of people we have had as administrators who have OZ racing on their CV? Quote
Joe Bloggs Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Google him, I'm not saying it's him until someone posts the story, however google him, the story re Perth and his life at MRC. I only met him once, at Fairdale Stud during an open day, when he found out I was at Caulfield for 5 years, he bolted, I was very interested in his life in Oz for obvious reasons, but we couldn't find him and the crowd was not that big.......funny that. Robertson's attack on a female ABC reporter, when he said he would rather his daughter grow up as a prostitute than a journalist, sent Melbourne into a media frenzy. But it appears that last Wednesday's behaviour is just one of several attacks on the media. The state government declared Robertson's behaviour grossly inappropriate, and since first-hand accounts of his irregular behaviour towards the media have flowed from Western Australia. Quote

The Centaur Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 From my small involvement with AR I concluded he was the smartest racing manager around in racing. I gathered that opinion from the work he put in attempting to get funding for 100 years commemoration of ANZAC bearing in mind Trentham played a major part sending soldiers overseas. So he let the media have it somewhere along the line. Without the full story don't go jumping to the media beat ups. Reading the piece above it sounds like he physically "attacked a female reporter". THe truth is probably he strongly responded to some erroneous press. Quote

You seem to think his resignation is tied to the story in your quote above It isn't, and if you think this guy is "smart" then god help racing Mikie Edited December 17, 2020 by Mikie 5 1 Quote

jess Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 The sudden departure sans explanation raised an eyebrow around the place for sure - serious ill-health or wrong-doing are the reasons I've seen in the past for the rapid, unheralded exit from these sorts of positions. What I have heard since, I can't repeat here at this stage. Hopefully it's not true - and if it's not - and I posted it here - it would be a low blow to repeat a rumor of that nature. Here's hoping I am poorly informed. J Quote

Mikie Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 I don’t mix in the same hallowed circles as you Jess, but I am told that his behaviour has been aPELLing Mikie 1 Quote
jess Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Ha Mikie! - nothing hallowed about my circles ... just another horse-lover who follows a bit of racing here 'n' there, breeds a few, races a few ... and will probably at some point retreat with an empty wallet & my tail between my legs 😜 1 Quote

theshu Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Have just read quite a bit about AR in some Australian papers from a few years ago. Sounds like a real piece of work if it is all true. Karma gets them in the end. 1 Quote

Mark D Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I think this will be the subject of a Xmas Eve News release if at all. NZTR will be hoping nobody notices. And they wonder why many believe that there is no integrity in the racing administration. 4 Quote
Mark D Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 And I just remembered that Cameron George is now the chair of NZTR! Oh my god! 2 1 Quote
