Chief Stipe
I'll start. If weight stops horses why don't riderless horses always win?

Many do win and many more would've won but for losing their compass in transit. With the compressed handicaps and less quality of horse the weight factor today is certainly not as great as it was yesteryear where some great horses carried phenomenal weights on 45kg minimums. The late Bill Skelton's favourite saying was "an ounce of luck is worth a ton of judgement."

Why is it so much easier to get three wins and a second placing in your Quaddie , than getting the 4 winners in it ?? 2

Or backing a horse to win and finding it flying down the outside for a very impressive second. or backing a horse for a place and seeing it leading only to be swamped in the last hundred to finish a honest fourth worse than that though is backing a horse for a top 4 and it getting fifth, what a mugs game racehorses are at times lol. 1
Pitman
Why is closest to the inside (running rail) not the shortest (quickest) way home at certain tracks? Even when listed as a good 3 Edited May 14, 2021 by Pitman

Shad
Old yarn from many years ago about a favourite that never fired, Stipes questioned the rider on his lack of vigour, to which he replied, no use in both of us getting tired.
