When someone asks this question my greatest moment comes to mind.

Tried to find a picture of the moment from 2006 but couldn't but came across this picture - about the third time she has been sold.  Rising 19 year old in this picture.

Is it Vegas Showgirl ? , the dam of Winx.....

Is Norm Holland is the man in Black

The track is Te Rapa

The track is not Te Rapa.

Yes about Norm Holland.  He and Noel McCrutcheon were probably the last of the ex Jockey's that played a hard but fair game as stipes.  How many stipes do you see in the parade ring today?  As ex-Jockey's they understood how to read a race and it took a smart Jockey to put one across them.

Correct.  Now Lee Tiley.  Great horsewoman and a good looker.

Saw her one day walking into the lady jockeys room at Ellerslie with her riding gear at the beginning of racing. It struck me as to who is this tall filmstar.Couldn't believe she was a jockey.

Same, she arrived in a white trouser suit, figure hugging, I knew it was her, I think part of my tongue is still stuck to the tarseal there.

I experienced the same vision.  No disrespect to Lee but speaking to her was a bit hard.  Classic horse person in that regard.  They talk better to horses than us humans.  Beautiful hands with a horse and a kind rider.  My horse didn't respond to every rider (had 25 different riders!) but she did to Lee.  Threw Michael Walker!  Woops there are clues in there!

Think Carbine.

Well he's pretty good I spose, but going back over 100 years a bit tough. Are you in 3 figure age group Chief?

Hey , my boy 'Super Impose' did a pretty remarkable unique feat in his day ?

Do you remember what that was ? for a Great moment in racing .

Quiz:

  1. Name the Horse.
  2. Name the Jockey.  (I was seriously divided this day on who was better looking).
  3. The Racecourse.
  4. The man in the suit/black coat in the background.

Madame Shinko

Lee Tiley

Te Rapa

At a guess Hayden Allen leading her, it's too skinny for me and I never took her to Te Rapa.

He was my neigh bour! I was in awe of him, one day I followed the FBI down to the tie ups, they had one in each hand, Super, Schillaci, Subbie, Naturalism, Tawriffic, Mannerism, Pontormo, Gatherneaux, Azzurro, Durbridge, a stablehand had two.......with due respect to Chris W he will never know what it's like to have quality like that in your back yard, and that's where that lot lived......those days will never be replicated........they were awesome......
