How do you get a 3rd positive when you throw out all feed supplements etc after 2nd one and still come up with a 3rd. Kevin should have used the Dunn excuse and then he could have got hit with the wet bus ticket as well! 1 1 Quote
Guest CrossCodes Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Townley over the years has laughed and fully admitted to people he got his property and got where he is by doping his horses, it just seems that nowadays it's just that little bit harder to get away with it, hence why he hasn't had anything of any real bite for a number of years. They should have given him life. Quote
the galah Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 A pathetic sentence and just confirms what so many say. One rule for some and another for others. No wonder the small timers dont bother anymore. 2 Quote
Newmarket Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 Anyone have any links they can post about this guy in the 80s? You know, about the time when straws and soda were the norm on raceday!!! All this annoys me 2 Quote

Well, If its just the food the problem, should we not have a heap of trainers getting DUNN again, not just this case? 3 in 3 months, what a piss take. Seems its always the same offenders dont you think? 1 Quote
the galah Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 If you don't get a disqualification for 3 times in 2 months then when would you?. These people on the jca have no idea of how their bend over backwards approach is perceived by so many. Reading their excuse for the penalty just highlights their ineptitude. 1 Quote

Guest CrossCodes Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 And since money seems to be no problem to him a fine is of no deterrent whatsoever. When was the last time (if ever) a trainer in any of the 3 codes was banned or suspended from training? It's a fucking joke! Quote

Yeah I remember when he was in Ashburton,it was pretty well known that he was milkshaking and the stable never denied it.Phil and George Burrows worked for him back then. The stable loved a punt too 1 Quote

The purple patch from during the early 90s was incredible. Every time his horses started they were a massive chance. Then it all dropped off and was never the same. 1 Quote
Newmarket Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 Same with that guy Webber that trained Cinamin Junior? One minute battling trainer, next he won training premiership?? Looking back, its now easy to figure which horses where on it, they raced fiercely in front. 1 Quote
Portfolio Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Always wondered about this stable years ago. Remember Townley training horse called Aiming High. He got it running ok, even connections were amazed how much it improved. Besta Kara the same, and trotter Auto Craft held record for awhile. Back in those days, a horse entering some stables improved out of site, crazy when you think about it 2 Quote

Newmarket Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 While i love the harness game, i hate what lengths some people go to for a win. The Blue Magic debacle was very sad, very negative for the harness game, even more sad when people take their lives. When you have a top trainer , reckon at the time he administered the substance, he didnt know what the substance was, is hard to believe. The whole blue magic saga was hard to fathom, Quote
LongOwner Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Read this case re - A) JCA said they should of flagged trainer he was getting close to been over so lower fine - Compare with Burrows case B) RIU recommend $12 k but JCA gives $6 k - Compare Dunn case RIU say $4 but they get $30 k Different softer rulings for thoroughbred v’s Harness . This case Colbat so how can it be half of Burrows and they were told they shouldn’t of been told about first Kava reading ! Read this case and see a real soft fine/decision but different code ! 3 Quote
