LongOwner, how long is going to be though?

It has been propped up for awhile wouldnt you say?

Also, without owners and punters unfortunately you havent got harness racing!!

Well the big players in harness racing - Breeders & Owners - are based in Auckland or thereabouts. Take the sport away from them they will move to Ellerslie and take all their friends and $$$$.

The population and the money is in Auckland - cut them off kill the sport.

I just went through Addington fields and Fridays two meeting must be the worse fields in history.all small fields and all small prices.not happy as I only like outsiders and good luck in picking one.what a joke.i can GTD now that since the change to ratings system it is 90% less chance of outsiders.i could pick heaps every meeting and now zero.you know ready I am would of been 30/1 yet because of small fields it's 8.5.it would of been a good chance in trail or lead.the harder they go the better.have a look at it's race to starts ago it was in front by a mile after the race and could of went another lap!Brodie did you unleash on Franco Norton again?:)

LOL I totally agree with you in regards to the hopeless odds on offer at Addington as well!

I didnt want to say that as well as Auckland as people would think I was trying to kill the sport!

But yes, really I only saw one horse I thought was worth a go and that has been slashed so going to be a very quiet night on the punt!

Anyway I am sure someone will come on and say they are great punting fields as many do like backing the shorties !

And what makes me lol is the starting point for the mile race at addington.is there anywhere in the world they start on a bend.it would be better if they started at 1402.25.it would be great.last night I nearly got the Aust tab for plenty.in the Monte in France I backed a horse at 81/1 and 14/1 place.it was going to be one the faves in France ridden by one of the best.it was a 8/1 chance in france.it started 10/1 in the end.was running forth early after half the field broke and then it did losing 300m and it still ran forth.lol.it will win when it trots the whole way.they the Aust tab often stuff the odds up.

Yep everyone knows how I feel about mile races and yes absolute clowns running that race over a mile at Addington!

Dont bet overseas apart from Oz trots when I sort one out but never get much on!

The Tab NZ have this Top 4 and yet you can not get anymore than a pittance on it on your account.

No agency or course betting so what is the point?

Bring back the head to heads NZ TAB when there is no decent fixed odds divs

I agree mate. There's too much racing in the South, with the same horses going around week after week. It's boring.

Put a leftover $1 on the Group 1 multi at Bathurst tonight then.  Gold Crown/Tiara/Chalice/Bracelet finals.

Winning combo of 7 -3 - 12 - 4   (races 5 to 😎😎 8 )

gets you a carton and the 'fish and chups' for the weekend at 80-1.  nice.

Noms for Auckland friday very light again, seems more want to go Manawatu than Auckland, in some ways it must be frustrating for those with the topliners racing in such small fields yet in many ways they have actually chased a lot away.

Very sadly Brodster is getting close to being on the money. After a couple of good weeks of Auckland trots with the Messenger assembling a great field, we revert to the crappy Auckland Racecard this week..........

8 races with 4 trots (And $1.20 fav in the feature one) , an amateur drivers race, a maiden, and just 2 mid class pace's. Used to go all the time to Auckland trots but wouldn't bother going to this meeting. Actually won't even be watching any of it , let alone considering a punt. RIP might be right?..

I wonder if the public turned up in the last 2 weeks despite the better fields.

Once one stops going it's not easy to reignite the fervor for turning up on course, like tv has changed habits.

You're probably right. Most people have a 'routine' that they cannot bend from. I would of been along with Bell's on to see the Aussie Raider go past 2 weeks , but definitely skip this week.

It used to be a big deal when the Southern boys come up to strutt their stuff.

Lord Module taking on Delightful Lady ,then there was  Royden Glen, Iraklis , Christian Cullen, Christen Me ... plenty of good ones to go along and see take on the Northerners. Roy and Barry had to be 'sharp' to repel them.

Roydon Glen winning the Great Northern Derby... one of the best performances you will ever see...

Look how far Royden Glen is in front in the Auckland Cup 100m out , but the 'Iceman' AGH arrives with Comedy Lad on the line to take the 1986 Auckland Cup (the last one I saw live) . Well done Tony , great owner Max Harvey and of course the legends Roy and Barry training.

South Islanders trying hard to beat the best ?  2nd for Royden Glen on this occasion. Roy rules !!!!! lol.
