See it is being reported he is injured and almost guaranteed he is out of Cup.

They had said he was being targeted early on but then connections seem to go lukewarm so this injury is the end of any Cup aspirations.

At least the race is getting more even. Some of those lower R55 owners might be now considering a tilt lol

Welcome Harewood, Chicago Bull is a very good horse we all know, but it is very hard for an Australian based horse to come over here and win The Cup.

He is used to racing on the small tracks and 2 mile stand isn’t that easy for them.

I would say that it will be a blue and silver again, not sure which one but they will line up a few I would think.

I would bet my left nut Chicago Bull does not show. The Chase Auckland story was a beat up to me. Never really seemed likely, even if everything went perfectly, even though the stable weren't discounting it. They are generally very conservative with their four-year-olds, Lazarus and Il Vicolo the exceptions.

Underestimate this horse at your peril Brodie. He is a seriously good horse who has run the times. Is very good from a stand, can do a lot of work in a race, sit parked or come with one run if the pace is hot. I have seen him race many times, A pocket rocket.  If he comes over, which is looking more an more likely he WILL win against a "No Lazarus'  field of average horses this year. Harewood is on the money!

It certainly will not be at my peril at all Harewood.

I won’t be investing on the NZ Cup.

I'm with my mate Paul (Harewood) on this one. Chicago Bull is one tough customer. Ive watched him race in Perth and personally I think the bigger the track the better he will be. I've got my horse picked for the Cup ( eh Robert), but the Aussie could rip this one off quite easily.

Seem like Chicago Bull is going to turn up.

Bull is charging to NZ Cup

05 August 2018

By Adam Hamilton

It is now just a matter of how and when Chicago Bull goes to the New Zealand Cup, not if.

The pint-sized superstar made it four wins from as many starts and is as many weeks when he snatched a head win at Gloucester Park last night (Friday).

It wasn’t his most impressive win, but it got a big tick from driver Gary Hall Jr.

“It was a wet track, a really heavy track. I could’ve worked to the lead if I’d wanted to, but I actually spoke with the stewards before the race about the going being quite heavy near the inside and him being a little horse, I’d be happier to sit one-off,” he said.

“It almost backfired on me, but he found a way to get the job done. I was trying to look after him, if that makes sense.”

A rejuvenated Devendra led and Hall Jr allowed him to dictate with a 63.4sec middle split of the 2536m before they roared home in 55.1 and 27.3sec.

Trainer Gary Hall Sr said he it was now all about keeping Chicago Bull “ticking along” until the Victoria and NZ Cups.

“He’s going to both, the timing works,” he said. “I might stretch his races out to once a fortnight until between now and when we go to Melbourne.

“Then, after Melbourne, we’ll get across to NZ as soon as we can to make sure we get a lead-up race in across there before the NZ Cup.”

Now the Cup is getting spiced up.

For all those doomsayers out there who aren't happy unless we have a Cup field full of superstars, I say, pphhhh.
