    • He had a Winter campaign in Brisbane last Winter. 11 starts for 1 win and 10 unplaced runs. Because the FFA class in Brisbane is quite strong really. they really rattle along fast. can't remember what he paid in that win but would of been BIG odds (beat a Grimson runner)  old kiwi Auckland Cup winner is always hard to beat >>Turn It Up . one of the best here. His last start in Queensland Mach Shard was 5th to another old kiwi 'Hot and Treacherous' . who seems a fair sort of horse. Probably about same ability as Mach Shard I spose.  going way back Mach Shard ran a Place in the Interdominion Grand Final at Auckland , so that is a great feat, so is a better horse going around right handed it seems ?
    • When Mach Shard raced overseas in 2023, it raced 23 times in mostly poor fields for 2 wins.  So horse back from position at start, raced wide before settling last. Followed up Aussies 3 wide n turn, made up probably 20 lengths on leaders to win easily.    So Chief, if your right you will be punting it from now on?  I say it will struggle ….

    • A brief break in what has been a very wet week in Hong Kong raised some hope that Sunday's FWD Champions Mile program at Sha Tin would be contested over sound or at least drying-out ground. But overnight rains that lasted into the daytime rendered the turf course as yielding, and those underfoot conditions worked against heavily favored Golden Sixty (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro) and very much in the favour of BEAUTY ETERNAL (g, 5, Starspangledbanner {Aus}–Ithacan Queen {NZ}, by Savabeel {Aus}). The 5-year-old gelding jumped best of all and on an afternoon where it was imperative to be on or near the lead, took them all the way to cause an upset. Red Lion (Ire) (Belardo {Ire}) chased throughout and held for second ahead of Voyage Bubble (Aus) (Deep Field {Aus}) in third. Golden Sixty was ridden forward by Vincent Ho and was always within striking distance, but he could not produce his customary burst in the soggy conditions and came home fourth in what may–or may not–be the final start of a truly remarkable career. Sales history: A$90,000 Ylg '20 INGFEB. Lifetime Record: 17-9-3-3.O-Patrick Kwok; B-P Raftopolous (Vic); T-John Size.
