  1. So 11 starters - 8 off the front row? Means Rosie Richter draw outside of second row inside one Unruly horse? Perhaps the driver wanted to avoid tracking something that was going rough? Looking at the race the horse inside it on the second row wasn't in position either. Tricky grass track mobile's.
  2. 25mm yesterday - most fell before midday. 45mm for the two days prior to midday.
  3. Cool I'll see ya there. The stupid thing is I know exactly who you are.
  4. Seem to be doing alright so far this year. Strike rate 3.21. Not including OZ starts. I guess they are doing so well you'd want to tax their success.
  5. You just stick to your text books.
  6. Only if it won and as @curious pointed out Imperatriz has a 98% chance of not winning it. David Ellis and Mark Walker have pulled the right rein. Full credit to them for evaluating all the variables and deciding on what's best for the horse and ultimately the owners. I would imagine the owners are more than happy with the decision. As Ellis has said many times their business model relies on keeping their owners happy.
  7. Really? The person who purports to have given the world the concept of Quantitative Easing? Yeah well that's worked out well hasn't it. At least he now has quantum of real world data to blow his own theories out of the water.
  8. Oh deary me is there a conspiracy I didn't know about? So this Werner chap is a left wing academic is he not? Perhaps the Bank Of England should have approved the Barclay's offer for Lehman's. Oh dear another conspiracy theory. At the end of the day Governments should get out of active participation in markets. Full stop end of argument. New Zealand could do with a Maggie Thatcher or even a Roger Douglas now.
  9. But couldn't you open the entry by adjusting the entry fees. If you weren't sold at Karaka you pay more to enter for example? How many Aussie horses want to come in this direction anyway?
  10. Probably would have but he would have got a drag into the race on Imperatriz's back and given his horse a softer run. That race wasn't his Everest. Williams admitted he stuffed up and his decision was hardly split second. Williams rode Giga Kick like he was a Ducati and not a bicycle. As for when the horse injured itself it could just as easily been when it put in that very fast sectional. It was a bad ride and Williams deserved a serve. He had an excuse in missing the jump and could still have ridden to instructions. Don't forget no matter how arrogant the owner is they still pay the bills be the billionaires or poorer (mostly poorer). BTW a Racing Manager had a bigger role than just representing the owners. They are a conduit between all parties involved in getting what is best for the horse particularly at the elite level.
  11. That's your reality no one else's. You provide no empirical evidence ever.
  12. So? We are talking about Imperatriz and the value of The Everest to her!!! Not some stallion promotional hype!!!! Tell me as a breeder (which is unlikely) would you value the Golden Slipper above The Everest in terms of stallion making?
  13. FFS you are focusing on ONE point that was made not the rest of the article nor the any of the other articles published on the subject!
  14. You talk idealogical nonsense.
  15. Breeders value black type. End of story. As for the Karaka Millions you could eliminate the sweepstake aspect by taking a levy on ALL horses that are sold through Karaka to fund it. You wouldn't need NZTR funding! Then you could apply for black type Group status. At the moment it is a sweepstake where 2 or 3 stables hold most of the tickets.
  16. No it is purely and simply about what is best for Imperatriz and her success which ultimately determines the owners return. The Slot Holder negotiates with the Owners what the total stake is and the Trainer gets 10%, Jockey 5%, plus 2% to stable hands of that stake. Just like any other race! So Te Akau win either way. David Ellis as Racing Manager and Mark Walker as Trainer would have considered a range of variables in making their decision. They've publicly stated that the believe Imperatriz races better left handed, the Grp races are important and what they are being offered by slotholders doesn't sway their view. You've also got to consider that the Everest wasn't being aimed for and her race programme was devised months ago and took into consideration factors such as travel and change of stables. In the short term it's not money but what is best for the horse. Ultimately following that course you win.
  17. Really? Please provide us with your analysis/data that supports that contention? Where are the international horses? Does it rank above the Dubai or Hong Kong invitational races in terms of quality? So the only reason you have for breeders placing value on The Everest is its stake level? So much for international pattern racing and standards.
  18. Uh? You're an intelligent man so I'm assuming you are not inferring that there is an advantage in racing with 35 tco2 or below. Your anecdotal story could have some merit and a possible reason could be that the un-named trainer treated his horses for lactic acid build up after fast work during the week. Nothing illegal in that as long as the one clear day rule is adhered to. Perhaps Stewart does the same or the particular horse has high natural TCO2 levels. If there was something else being administered then the technology is there to find it. Grimson has had the same scrutiny. Hell weren't his horses locked in a barn for a time and they still won? I'd give @Archie Butterfly a miss if I was you. He will cross a legal line one day that he can't slip back over.
  19. I said that is what Imperatriz is aiming for - a couple more Group 1s and another Group race a Grp 2 I think (I can't be bothered checking). Time honoured Group races against her own class. Not an orchestrated sweepstake race. I asked you why Breeders would assign more value to winning The Everest over Group 1,2 wins and placings. Are you suggesting that it has nothing to do with the quality of the field but just the fact it is the "World's Richest Race"?
  20. Please enlighten us all with your erudite analysis of why breeders would assign value to winning the Everest over a couple if Group 1's?
  21. You haven't provided any facts just opinion that doesn't stand up to any challenge. You also have an appalling understanding of math when you can't grasp the fact that holding trillions of liability in a housing bubble is far more of a problem than holding billions of net assets. The Federal Government created the problem not private sector greed which you assert. The Fed had the power and means to resolve the problem but stuffed it up. A classic case with evidence showing clearly that Governments should stay out of those markets full stop. It all arose from political intervention to provide a cheap supply of money for home lenders. I have yet to see what your alternative is. No doubt it involves more market intervention and the printing of money to hand out.
  22. I guess they have to claw back as much of their liability on I Wish I Win as they can. Assuming you mean Entain when you refer to the TAB.
  23. Black type adds residual value when she is sold at the end of her racing career like all Te Akau syndicated mares.
