  4. Keep back tracking Thomaas. The fact is you didn't know about the Tongue Tie first time until AFTER the race when you looked at the results. Any serious punter would have known the Te Akau Shark gear change first happened in OZ. But we know you are not a serious punter don't we? Also a serious punter probably wouldn't have taken much notice of the gear change in terms of assessing value. So we can't trust your stupid blueprint in OZ?

  7. I never said it was wrong. How do you explain they don't need barrier blankets in Japan? Nor do they allow barrier attendants up on the gates holding a horse during the start?
  8. Most punters would have picked up it wore a tongue tie for the first time in Australia the first time it did. Just as I did and I parked that information in the back of my mind. You obviously missed it. Which I find strange as wasn't one of The Shark's race's with the Tongue TIe on your Blueprint special? E.g. the Cox Plate and part of your 170,000/1? You are a fraud and you are back tracking quicker than a snake caught in a wagon rut.
  9. Can't be anymore stupid than you on this subject. However lets take IN A TWINKLING as an example. He has had the following gear added: Lugging bit - this is to stop hanging/lugging and allows the jockey to put more pressure on the side of the mouth; Norton bit - used to stop a horse from pulling by putting pressure on the upper side of the mouth; Cross over nose band - stops a horse running with its mouth open and pulling. Extreme measure to use for racing; Cheek burrs - a round disc with raised prickers on it. Used to control hanging or refusal to turn its head; Tongue Tie - used to keep the tongue in place and stop its movement. Doesn't all that gear indicate that the horse has tractability issues? Were they caused by poor breaking in and poor mouthing? Who knows. But if as a trainer I kept getting horses that required this gear to eliminate this gear I would be checking things to ensure there isn't a common factor involved. I read a recent article regarding a high priced yearling who was going through its two year old preparation. It showed promise however the trainers pulled back from proceeding due to it having racing behaviour issues. They then focussed on those issues through retraining and re-mouthing. The horse has come back into work with those issues resolved. Many of our top trainers only pick up their horses 6-8 weeks out from racing with many months spent breaking in and pre-training elsewhere. No I'm not as arrogant as you to say I know everything about horse racing or what gear they require. You profess to be an expert on it. But as one of New Zealand's best horse breakers said to me the aim is to minimise gear and there are many ways to train a horses behaviour without resorting to extreme measures.
  10. He's been tardy with it ON. But don't let facts get in the way of your fiction.
  11. You're the one that's stupid after all you were crowing that The Shark had a tongue tie on for the first time last start! When in fact he had it on for the previous three. Idiot.
  12. Given that the suspension days carry across both jurisdictions he probably won. $10k is pocket change in Aussie racing. Don't forget when he appealed he was still able to ride and I'm sure he picked up some good wins during that period. Just a game.
  13. FFS it is not worse than what you see in the first 50m of any race. Maybe thoroughbreds should have mobile starts!
  14. Yep and you would be banned from all forms of social media in China. So thank you lucky stars that I have a tolerant attitude....just.
  15. I don't know who breaks the Te Akau yearlings in. However that year from yearling to two year old is critical in the education of a racehorse. I also believe that any behavioural issue can be trained our of a horse. For example surely you can train a horse to not need a barrier attendant standing in the stall holding the horses head before the get go or even train out the need to have a barrier blanket. The issue is of course it takes time and patience. That is a gross generalisation. However perhaps they should look closely at the processes BEFORE they get the horses that they finish off to race. What is the time frame for the first preparation after breaking in and pre-training? Six weeks to first race? What just a Tongue Tie? You thought it only happened last weekend. Or did his performances improve once they took the blinkers off?
  16. More crap. They "played the system" and succeeded. Get over it. What I will say though is that McDonald's "indiscretion" would have probably been overlooked in OZ.
  17. DECISION 1. Mr McDonald was charged with Careless Riding in breach of Rule 638(1)(d) following the running of the Karaka Million 3yo Classic at Ellerslie on 25 January 2020. He pleaded guilty. His licence to ride was suspended for 9 national New Zealand riding days, (to commence after racing on 27 January 2020) and he was fined $750. 2. He has appealed against the penalties imposed. Because his lay representative (on the Appeal) contended the period of suspension was running it was urgent that the Appeal be heard and the Tribunal requested, and received, written submissions on behalf of the Appellant and Respondent, and afforded the representatives the opportunity of expanding those, if they wished, by oral submissions in the telephone link. 3. The Tribunal, however, did not proceed to determine the merits, or otherwise, of the Appeal because it had granted Mr McDonald the benefit of a rehearing for the following reasons: (a) Through Dr Molloy he has contended that he only pleaded guilty to the charge because he believed he would only receive a lesser penalty than that was imposed. (b) Dr Molloy has advanced argument as to reasons why Mr McDonald had such belief. He alleged that the rider “should really never have entered a guilty plea as this was a minor indiscretion, but he was seduced into doing so with the promise of a light penalty.” He alleged that advice given to him by the Chief Stipendiary Steward as to the possible process of the Judicial Committee led him to believe “he was about to receive a 4 day penalty.” (c) We record that Mr Oatham adamantly rejects the contention and any comments attributed to him as asserted by Dr Molloy, are incorrect. At best, he said, Mr McDonald may have misconstrued any comments that were offered. (d) We were in no position to resolve the disputed facts and do not do so. If Mr McDonald’s guilty plea was not genuinely made as an informed admission of the charge, even though unwisely made and surprising for a senior rider, we concluded that he ought to have the opportunity of a rehearing if he wished. We were advised that that was his wish. So in the interests of fairness to the parties and in order for justice to be seen to be done, we have: (a) Allowed him to change his plea to not guilty. (b) Granted Mr McDonald a rehearing of the charge.

  19. FFS Thomaas if you are going to post this crap can you at least post the link to the site that you got the information from. Then we can decipher your gibberish from fact and fiction. http://jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-j-mcdonald-decision-dated-7-february-2020-chair-hon-j-w-gendall-qc
  20. Scratch this in the egg on your face. Breaking in and pre-training a horse if done properly can teach good attributes - done wrongly it can teach them bad behaviours. You obviously know NOTHING about training a horse. Bollocks - his CV would say the contrary. What he probably does know is how to train a horse to REMOVE gear. Yes - that should be the goal of any trainer. He has done that with Te Akau Shark for instance.
  21. I'm not knocking Jamie Richards - please don't get me wrong. But how many horses has he pre-trained or broken in compared to Clayton Chipperfield? In my opinion those that do the breaking in and pre-training and turn out a professional athlete are the real trainers. Unfortunately they don't get any of the glamour or the monetary rewards that the end of the line trainers get.
  22. Except you don't trust "some" trainers. For example Clayton Chipperfield - who when you combine his jockey, pre-training and training history has as much experience (if not more) than Richards. ...and turning its form completely around Most trainers work to minimise the amount of gear on a horse - not increase it. That is they train and educate a horse. Training doesn't just involve pitching up in the morning and putting the jock up, telling them to gallop 1000m at three quarter pace. A good example of people who train horses is Chris Waller. Look as his work on Nature Strip? As for In A Twinkling the poor horse has more gear notified than most - Approved Plates, Norton Bit, Visor Blinkers, Barrier Blanket, Nose Band, Tongue Tie - has even had "Cheek Burrs" - whatever they are. They don't sound nice.
  23. So why the hell worry about those things that you can't assess comparatively or quantitatively when punting? Unless of course you are looking for excuses AFTER the fact. Your Blueprint is looking decidedly Grey!
  24. Rule Number(s): 638(1)(d)Following the running of Race 4 (Aranui Harvesters 1550), an Information was lodged by Mr Goodwin alleging a breach of Rule 638(1)(d) in that S Collett allowed her mount LADY RUDOLPH to shift out near the 350m when not clear of ITALIAN LOVER and SKYPHYTA which were checked.
