  1. Just an added bit of news..Walter Bahr the last surviving member of the USA world cup team that beat England 1-0 in Brazil in 1950 has passed away at the age of 91.
  2. Great to see the English beat those North Africans todays.Maybe if they had tried to play football then a draw would have been a good result but no they tried to be smart arses with their defence, and the English were good enough(ONLY JUST) to take advantage. The game was thoroughly boring.
  3. Winner at first ride today if i haven't missed a previous ride.
  4. Was he with Roger James up north for a while?
  5. Hasn't started his two weeks yet.Be patient with these young fellas.
  6. Betting figures could have benefitted from the NHL and the NBA finals already over as well as no major college sports going on and the NFL nowhere in sight yet till later in the year. Great event though something NZ Racing can never emulate.
  7. No need for the ''boot up the ass'''.Big red would be in more trouble than Billy. Two weeks away from the hustle and bustle will do Billy the world of good. Time to reflect.
  8. This Carnival seems to go on forever. Enough is enough. Good money for mediocre performers. No longer has the ''must watch'' appeal.
  9. What do they do in the English winter with tracks like Ascot etc. Maybe there should be a period in the NZ winter where only jumpers race.
  10. Used to be a fantastic place but to often schools were using it,clubs were using it etc and all of a sudden you couldn't swim the 50m pool. The 25m pool was so congested it was just about impossible to go up and down in the lanes.Tried the outdoor pool but that closes around May.
  11. Oh no!I wonder if he is going to miss those Waikato cold, wet, miserable and shitty Winters.
  12. Q...What do you have to do to get a jail sentence? A...A lot more, especially under the Lefts wannabe laws.Andrew Little want to fling open the doors.
  13. Allan Hawkins up to his old tricks again. Obviously jail taught him nothing, thats why Mr Little they should stay in there until they do learn.

  14. Chequer Board was my favourite that he drove.Pretty good horses in that era. Could be wrong but Great Adios,Allakasam,Manawaru were horses racing at the same time.
  15. No expert myself but you would hope that the work they are doing to the track will make a difference just based on the length of time that it will be out of action and the possible cost involved.
  16. Another win today 42/1
  17. Also see that Broad gully farm/one over lodge is also for sale in Waimate. Looks like the Trotting industry is being abandoned.
  18. Trademe realestate showing Grinaldi Lodge is for sale. Looks a beaut property for humans and horses. Does one of the Williamsons operate from there.?
  19. No car nut but enjoy the AMERICAN PICKERS coming across rare vehicles on their show..
  20. Not blaming the new Govt, however they are the current Govt and they need to pick up the ball and run with it. As to why Guy did nothing, only he would know and it would be interesting to know why he was so inactive.
  21. Its okay to blame Guy but the reality is that O'Connor is the man now.He should have put an immediate ban on the transportation of livestock between farms imo.I know that would be hard to implement and very unpopular but thats why they are in Govt.
  22. On another website Keith Woodford,a former Proffessor at Lincoln is calling for the Govt to step back and let the farmers take care of it. NOnonono,if you want taxpayers money for compensation then the Govt have to be incharge with input from others.
  23. June could be a critical month for the further spreading of this disease.Sharemilkers and their herd travelling to new farms. This could turn out to be a circus.
  24. Did Richards senior win the first at Geelong with Mazzuro today?
  25. Who was the previous well known studmaster who urged followers of the racing industry to vote NZF. He's retired and Peters should follow suit.
