  1. True, Globe. This horse is cool to watch. But real sport is when you are in the ring with a contender and not cannon fodder. the true test is yet to come, and if, and when, he passes it, it will triple the excitement factor which will make its way onto the 6 o'clock news - a very rare feat.
  2. Taking some time out to study some form for Timaru. It has been a long time since I sat down and enjoyed myself this much ? Jeremy Wells doesn't seem to be a multiple race winner and I was wondering whether it is a good thing to have a 'celebrity' name attached to a horse. On one hand, when it goes right it is great, but on the other hand, Tiger Woods, does it just bring derision? If someone asked the human Jeremy Wells, how is your horse going? What would he say? It got 9th in its last start at Timaru and is racing there again tomorrow... Mmmmm....lucky people have no memories these days so probably doesn't matter.
  3. Will add a different and welcome flavour to the regular Cup week Blue and Silver main course served up most of the time. OMG is that an anti All Stars remark...??? I must be deputising for the Brodster while he is colonising Australia.
  4. Perseverance Road has a tough act to follow....?
  5. Another good win but when programming allows it is time to take on some better horses.
  6. Holy shit, that is high praise lol. In fact, the highest in the land! ?
  7. A TAB sucker punch. Lead the gullible to the unpromised land.
  8. So you are saying they are on drugs?
  9. Without paying much attention, maybe the way they are driven? Stables go in and out of form.
  10. American Pride running into the infield! Haven't seen that for a while. Money was well placed on the plunge horse. Went a big race before breaking.
  11. A tough one as Perseverance Road would be the upset of the century... or
  12. Just had a thought, maybe HTP could organise a rally protesting blood-spinning on Jewels day at Addington. That would get human blood going...?
  13. Does anyone care? I would like to bet not one single Aussie horse will turn up. Makes no sense to come for obvious reasons. When the times are posted no one will blink as they are over 1980m. The crowd will be slightly bigger than normal as all owners will turn up. There may even be a queue to get a bet on. At least if it is cold, Addington has better facilities than Ashburton. ....I must be feeling pessimistic tonight. Forbury ain't the same with no Raphoe running.
  14. Cracker Hill. A big move in the PGG trot at Addington, 21s to 6s, especially considering the opposition. Does anyone have any idea what would have caused this move in?
  15. The Box Seat was safe and with its piece on blood conditioning. Seems like there is no other side of the story to be found, except by the ignorant conspiracists. Rule-compliant - sure. Closely monitored - sure. Wada - sure. Very much an industry protective piece. The Box Seat 'has 'absolutely no issues with it' Part 2 is a formality next week with more pro-blood conditioning people next week. Case closed.
  16. If he gets 2 and a half years for a 50 each way bet, the ones on race-fixing charges now, if guilty, won't be allowed back in their lifetime or the next.
  17. When the All-Stars have 3 or 4 or 5 horses in a race, what people tend to forget is that only one of them wins...the rest did not. Personally, I don't think Smooth Deal is the best 2-year-old anyway. It got beaten on its merits the other night. I would blame (which I am not) the horse rather the driver. Especially considering there was nothing wrong with the drive at all.
  18. Good point.
  19. Further evidence today this trainer is on the rise without a doubt.
  20. Indeed. The Furious old boy paid 14s too. Be a good drive home for the trainer.
  21. Haven't seen the value yet ?
  22. Raphoe Raceway. I forgot the obvious course name.
  23. Well, her drive on Peraki Reactor as a odds on fav was debatable. Will you apply the same standards that you do for Tim? ?
  24. I have always known Trentham to be just Trentham but after watching the first race at Rangiora (thanks Champagne Prince ?) I hear them call it Trentham Gardens. I have never been into gallops but I have never heard that before. Is it a marketing ploy? Good lord, are things that bad they have to rename the place or is there a story behind it? Ashburton Downs? Forbury Fountain? Addington Central? Methven Mountains? and of course Timaru Mecca. Love it. HRNZ should implement immediately.
