Ta. .....but at half the price he could have been lol. You tipping him will see Wellington send him out a 3 dollar shot...?
-
CP, Did you notice if Appearance trotted properly in the non-winners race? I see he won but I am wondering if he had his act together and looked like he was interested?
-
All that may well be true but the pack mentality in response is turning this site into RC of old. Just need to rise above it all and ignore it or people don't feel welcome to post. There won't be any new posters and the ones who are not caught up with the feud won't post either Just my opinion but I am sick of threads turning into shit fights and they are not just started by the likes of JJF. I can actually see the day both BOAY and RC harness sections are nearly extinct because of this feud. Personally, I am over the slanging matches and don't care whether I post or not anymore as it is fast becoming a chore reading the bickering.

Basil is gone. JJ Flash is gone, even though his original post on this thread seems like a genuine contribution. The harness site originally welcomed any poster, especially from RC, the open arms policy worked well and everybody got along. To simply blame 'darksiders' for the crap currently going on here at the moment is erroneous in my opinion. My purpose for posting on here is to discuss harness racing and I presume that would apply to nearly all of us but it seems very lost at the moment but I imagine some would even disagree with that.

People getting personal when there is no need to.

I am thankful for harness racing because...

Umm, did you read what you just wrote above in your post above? So you are happy for me to disagree with you but I am fucking history? And who gives you the right to call people crossdressers, tell them to stop rimming and saying I am fucking history? And you would deal to me if I talked to you like that face to face? That is good to know. You are like that Pound4Pound guy. Abusive and threatening. God, it is like being back on Racecafe. -

Couldn't disagree more. Basil has his own thoughts and the thread about winning the KPC was legendary. No wonder they fire up with crap like like that. Won't be many left on this site soon as these 'dickheads' will be gone and anyone new will be too scared to voice an opinion. Not sure where the oxidation pond is located anymore with rhetoric like this. -

A double-double bind? I am confused. -

Yet in the same breath, you do the same. That is what I can't quite follow to be straight up. Basil, JJ and others are allowed to have their say regardless and I don't believe they need to be ridiculed for their support of the All-Stars. They may well indeed be right in their views! No one knows which argument is right for sure. It is quite clear Friday's events teach people nothing. Nothing at all. Especially, how to get along. How bloody depressing is that? -

I thought you were better than that, Basil. Whether one likes it or not, the views of Anning etc are real and to bow down before them is to let them win. How that equates to doom for harness racing is difficult to link as well. Never took you for a defeatist. -
Wonder how he is feeling right now ?
-
...I get to relax at grass track meetings in summer after a long week at work and enjoy the beauty of the horses. (After Friday and the political thread I thought it was time to reflect and be thankful)
-
I thought his rough performance at Ashburton was due to the all-weather track but he didn't look that comfortable trotting today either.... Won't back him again until I see a trial where he is trotting well.

Yes, in Pakistan. It is a Pakistani legal problem, not a Muslim problem. That was my final comment. ?

I am retiring from this debate. Mot on soon. Friday was just awful. Awful to happen here. Awful for the people involved and their families. Awful that there are no answers to any of the issues surrounding it. Just go to be nice to each other.

I will go to Palmerston North first. A woman will spend the rest of her life battling demons inflicted upon her by four young men, who all took part in raping her for hours. Judge Lance Rowe said she was degraded, violated and treated as "less than human" and a "sexual plaything" by Lou William Harrison, Meha Hemi Taylor-Haeata, Renee Chaz Haeata and Anthony Simon Hirawani during the ordeal. The quartet were all sentenced in the Palmerston North District Court on Friday to lengthy jail terms for their roles in the gang rape, which the judge simply described as "very serious sexual offending". He said it was pointless trying to figure out who was the most serious offender as they acted as a group, encouraging each other during the victim's horrific October 2014 ordeal.

Glad Western men treat women like royalty. Especially, in New Zealand, no domestic violence or issues here. Phew. Yet, the peaceful Muslims in the mosque in Christchurch probably contributed as normal citizens. I have no idea why the topic of conversation is about Muslims and their responsibilities when the perpetrators are not. Maybe self-reflection by white western people is not allowed and prefer to blame everyone else but themselves. Back to harness racing for me.
-
That is false and dangerous at the same time. And the bible promoted violence when they went on the Crusades? So no foreigners (unless they are white? Just like the lunatic on Friday likes) are to enter New Zealand from now on? Every country is to close its borders?
-
That is the thinking of the Nazis in Germany pre-WWII against the Jews. Muslims are being used in some cases as a scapegoat for the ills of the host country. That is not the whole story of course but part of it.
-
Yeah, the priests are in the closet with the young boys. Pretty dark in there. So all Catholics are kiddy fiddlers due to the actions of a few? Depends where they go in the western world too, doesn't it? No, they are not. You can not attribute Islam to the oppressive treatment of women as women in some Muslim countries are treated as well as any. Malaysia, Turkey, and Indonesia for example. Even Pakistan which had Bhutto has a female leader many years ago. Some countries which happen to be Muslim are extremist eg Iran or Saudi Arabia (number 1 crazy Muslim country) but to generalise all the ills of the world to Islam is simply wrong. Islam doesn't promote violence. Idiot people who are Muslim promote violence. Idiot Christians or Buddhists promote violence but we don't label them Christian terrorists. Terrorist groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda and their actions are not to be tolerated but how about the American invasion of Iraq in 2003? Christian crusade...even Bush used the word, Christian, as an ignorant fool when they invaded with no just cause. The simplicity of arguments held by most are dangerous. I have met plenty of Muslims in my time around the world and they are some of the loveliest people I have ever met. Plus, their food is bloody delicious.
-
So everything the USA has done in the last 100 years in the Middle East and other places around the world is in the name of Christianity?
-
Simplistic and superficial reasoning there.

Need some light relief after recent events. I think it might be a day for punting on the tote and following up on some recent horses I have been backing. Still, like Appearance in a very even field in Race 1 despite not racing for a month. Will win one soon. Also, despite the unruly, Magical Melissa in Race 5. Both are a touch short on FF though. Interesting runner for me is Franco Riot. He ran some very good races early on and if he is fit enough he could be a player in Race 10 at 12FF.

They are not reprisals. This 'war' has been going on for a very long time. Multiculturalism is the most inappropriate word I think that could be used in this situation. It is not a religious war.
