  1. In the past he has been given horses with some ability and he been able to bring it out in them but in the last little bit he has got really limited types which certainly aren't 1 70FF types. TAB are having a field day.
  2. I think I was a couple of weeks early with my predictions lol
  3. Anybody going Tribeca at 2 60FF or Onedin Express at 2 00FF tomorrow night? ?
  4. Are you sure! I bet you never thought your original post would end up like this! I think you have spoken for the way many felt and it has ballooned to this thread. You have my vote for the best 'maiden' post ever!
  5. Could be a prophetic call. He is a tough bastard.
  6. Mr Guerin is promoting Chicago. Bull?
  7. If you didn't agree with the sale of Christen Me in the first place, this might piss off you off even more. He has now been on-sold to a new owner and raced at Yonkers last Saturday. Here is how he was described before the race in their punting advice. He got second in 1.52 but it is all a bit sad and I wonder how all involved are feeling at the moment? Race 12 In an extremely competitive finale where you can make a case for six of these; I'll stick with the sharp (4) ALOTBETTOR N. Bongiorno trainee gutted out a win against one notch lesser last out but has been right there with this type (and better) in the past. (5) SOHO LENNON A was grinded into submission by Pacing Major N last out; I see an off-the-pace attempt coming tonight. (6) CHRISTEN ME N moves to the Lance Hudson barn and we'll see if it wakes this underachiever up. (2) SOMEWHERE FANCY, who I have listed fourth, is a serious threat to take these wire-to-wire.
  8. I just saw that Shandale died from injuries in a race fall at Gloucester Park in the middle of June. He was a very good horse. Always a shame when something like that happens and I am glad it doesn't happen too often in harness racing. Touch wood.
  9. Chicago Bull's win price is suspended but the 6 50FF for a top 3 finish might be the much better bet in the long run if people are keen to bet on him.
  10. Before I fly off the handle, is there a reason for this? Melbourne Cup information - you get your money back if the horse you back is not nominated. NZ Trotting Cup information - No refunds if not nominated! Considering Mickey Gee is exported according to Punter then it is even bigger bullshit!
  11. Those betting into Chicago Bull are keen, even if he was 26s. Not sure 'very much on the agenda' is 70-30! Chase Auckland no certainty? He is an awful bet at 6 50 with the information below Because while trainer Mark Purdon has confirmed the superstar three-year-old will be nominated for the great race, he is anything but certain to start.
  12. Indeed DR. The TAB is just a con job when it comes to these markets. Soho Tribeca, Chicago Bull and Dom Domingo (really!)
  13. However, an at his best Heaven Rocks V Lazarus on a consistent basis would be exciting. No doubt the horse flesh was there for a rivalry. Problem is with exported horses, Aussie racing, different programmes for different horses (not like the old days of Kurow Cup and the Flying Stakes!) it just never eventuates anymore. The closest thing we could hope for in a rivalry is one between 2-year-olds that goes into the 3-year-old races. Problem is there always seems to be a dominant horse.
  14. Can anyone tell me the last rivalry in harness racing? When two or three horses went at it to and fro in big races on a consistent basis? Can anyone look at the list of horses nominated and name who are the open class warriors challenging to win the NZ Cup after going so close last year? Is anyone excited by the fact one stable has 5 of the 7 horses at the top of the market? Is anyone actually interested in the opening of a (tight) market because they are keen on a horse who looks they could sneak a NZ Cup over the favourites? Is the TAB actually interested when they put a horse in the field who has supposedly been exported? Does anybody know the individual characteristics and personality of the horses involved like a Hands Down? I might be a bit harsh but I don't know, it doesn't excite me like it used to. Oddly I would look forward to the Dominion Handicap Trot more than the NZ Cup but that might be going too far.
  15. No one is guilty when it is done en masse. Ironically, a speed duel or super aggressive will get you suspended!
  16. One positive out of all of this is RC makes the TAB seem like a generous and caring organisation that one wants to donate to. So not all bad?
  17. Some are RC repressed so need to express their feelings like true kiwi punters. Might need to go to the Vent and release there in future though.?
  18. Was a bizarre race alright. You don't see that often. Odd thing was War Horse couldn't even win and horses came from the back in a time of 3.22 and last 800 in 58.5 for the 2600 metres. This is in stark contrast to the all-out battle for the lead in the last with Red Moon Rising.
  19. Attention Trainers: We need your help - Forbury & Addington 09 July 2018 We need your help to get the first two heats of the 2018 McMillan Equine Feeds NZ Junior Driver Championships off the ground this Thursday night at Forbury Park and ALSO Friday night at Addington. At this stage we do not have enough horses to hold the heats and it would be a huge shame that some of our best young talent will miss out on being able to drive in four heats after they have put in the hard yards to get to the Championship Please check out the nominations below and see if you have anything suitable for any of the races. Nominations are now open until Tue. 10 Jul, 2018 at 9:00 am for Forbury and Tue. 10 Jul, 2018 at 9:30 am for Addington. Every starter also recieves a free bag of McMillan Feed! Any help will be greatly appreciated by HRNZ, the Club and of course the Junior Drivers. Forbury Nominations here: https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/noms/071247nm.htm Addington Nominations here: https://infohorse.hrnz.co.nz/datahr/noms/071332nm.htm Maybe they could have increased the stake by a couple of thousand to make sure this series is more appealing to trainers.
  20. Good to see you on here Tonka ? Quite a few are willing to label some horses which is great. Win or lose, it is food for thought.
  21. They don't expose themselves like that! They have 9 horses at 11s or less. The chances of that on Cup Day are somewhat remote.
  22. What do you think? Value? Lack of value? Quality of field? Needs Aussies? All-Stars benefit? There are probably 5 or 6 who are not up to it but that leaves about 18 so with some Aussies it will be a full field.
  23. I won't mind missing a trip from one banana republic to another.?
  24. Cheers, FU. Things are good here. Lots of good people. No stirring. More coming aboard all the time. Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing.
