  1. Just missing a woman on each arm and a betting ticket in the suit jacket pocket...
  2. If it was the opening entertainment at the Fast 10 it would draw tens of thousands and the Brodster could wear his weekend clothes on a Friday....
  3. There was. Matt Cross was good but in a standard fare kind of way. They talked about the awards night but no mention of Blair Orange's speech on the show (or even on the awards show that was on trackside) so it just confirms the Box Seat is an in house show with no real independent thought. Don't rock the boat baby...don't tip the boat over....
  4. See the BBC are saying the France v England game is off on Saturday. Wonder about poor old Scotland as they might be going home if other games are off too.
  5. He spoke poorly on the show probably due to nerves but got a little better at the end. Greg and Matt were finishing his sentences for him though. He loved the mile races at Alexandra and said it brought punters back to betting. Brodie has another adversary!
  6. Who would take those odds for Chase Auckland? Got to step first doesn't he?
  7. Me too. Seems like drizzle is the case rather than rain so should be ok.... I suppose the only consideration will be the twilight meeting in a few weeks time and if they chop up the new part of the track and the consequences of that.
  8. Good luck, Westview and Co. It is a big ask in that field. Those unruly horses will be making a charge at some stage. Quite a challenge for a first starter regardless of ability. Hope she goes well for the syndicate but regardless of Sunday it looks like you have a handy one judging from the trial videos.
  9. Is he still racing? How is Heaven Rocks etc going? I see Dexter is flying over there. 314 wins and 8.7 million. Harnesslink is handy when I remember to look.
  10. Massive fields for the punting competition except the Cup. I reckon some odds will be large so it will turn on its head each and every race, especially if it is wet as predicted. The Cup itself is quality but the lack of standing start manners and grass track form is intriguing for a handful of them. Wasn't it last year there was a big big punt on the FF for Airpark Flyer?
  11. Was offered at 8s for the place in the pre nom odds by the TAB. Would only take one or two to drop off the starting list for her to become a threat.
  12. Cup field looks good at the nomination stage. All Stars brigade will be off 30m by the looks of it. If it is a bit damp and heavy underfoot would you start The Fixer first up on grass over 3000m off a mark? What are the odds on Chase Auckland getting away cleanly? No Dunn horses and no A G's White Socks.
  13. So, is anyone nervous?
  14. Won't count for the punting competition so Westview will be looking for luck elsewhere on the card.
  15. At least it was the trots ? Eugowra looks like it is in the middle of nowhere...
  16. A game that will never be remembered except for a very good try against amateurs. See they are trying to label it the best World Cup try ever which is ridiculous. The big tests are yet to come and I am not convinced.
  17. El Chapo and Rory Brown didn't help either. Rory is a bit of a nutter with ability it seems.
  18. Maybe he was inspired by Blair Orange's speech at the awards dinner? I didn't see anything wrong with his drive but will watch again like a steward!
  19. Which horse?
  20. I said at work today I might do a 'neverneverland' Got a few blank stares...poor buggers won't know what hit them when I drop the bit and stop suddenly for no reason...
  21. and Jo Herbert back driving. Nice to see.
  22. 4 back and waiting for a run and then held up behind the hotpot who went an awful race. Must be nothing worse as a driver than watching the whole momentum of a race go past you on the outside round the final bend ? Onto Methven. Good times.
  23. Just watched it. What the hell is happening? Did both these horses think they were greyhounds who had caught the lure??
  24. Not sure I have ever seen a horse just decide to stop in the middle of the race like that. A few whacks of the whip and it started again. Crazy.
  25. Somebody thought otherwise. Walked up, stood still and looked like it had no forward momentum to get away cleanly. DD still runs on at the end. I think the driver needs to utilize the UR and time it for a walking start for the horse. Last chance saloon next week at home at Methven on the grass. Could be the boilover if he only gets away on even terms.
