  1. Great call, Globe.
  2. Not sure, as his manners are still touchy. My armchair is wondering if DDSS needs a big roomy grass track and long straight lines. After all, my armchair has trained a total of zero winners but it is a comfy armchair.
  3. This is an extract from an article today in The Optimist. As someone who doesn't know much about the inner workings of the industry or how it is run, I find it quite hard to comprehend to be honest. When some say turnover is up for a harness meeting, true or not - I don't know, it seems to fly in the face or reality or is the galloping code the only code that matters? How serious is the sustainability of racing in NZ? For the full article - http://www.theoptimist.co.nz
  4. Hopefully one day both of them will be, but at the moment, 46.9L and 60.9L says these babies still have a way to go, especially in manners.
  5. With NZ's best harness racing punter unavailable to give tips as he is currently out of the country in Europe trying to shake the TAB spies, I will throw one out there in race 2 tomorrow. I still really like Flying Mandy (big performance after its break at Vegas) but is quite short in the FF from its draw so I will leave it tomorrow unless it is ignored on the tote. There are a few other handy types at short odds too (fancy that) but they are unreliable at the same time so I will go with DD's Super Stuart for the FF place at 4.40. Draws 2 on the second line and will enjoy the mobile and being out of the rush early on. I am pretty sure Flying Mandy and DDSS will win one soon enough.
  6. With attrition and non starters he will surely make it?
  7. So Spankem for the Flying Stakes then? ?
  8. True, but there is possibility of excitement. Imagine if UMC won! The grandstand at Ommers would erupt!
  9. I think it is great for the club to have the All Stars in quite a few races too. It will lift the intensity of the racing and be a boon for watchers. They might even get a decent crowd. Dougie, I think Oscar B is the biggest certainty of the year off the FRONT lol $1.10FF? They will never catch him.
  10. Tough week. You never considered the Solheim Cup? Sometimes those head to heads are worth a go if you watch the entire event and get a feel for it.
  11. I think a few will find out where they stand on Sunday. Classie B, AG's and maybe, to a much lesser extent, UMC. Probably a trial for Franco Santino's aspirations to be in the Cup too.
  12. BOAY for the best harness armchair advice ?
  13. I have no idea of what they have done to the track but I am guessing they are hoping for some good grass growing weather.
  14. Just rush the tapes, delay the start, walk around again, make them hurry and get a running start ?
  15. The club must be rapt with this field. Just to have 11 in the field is an achievement. Plus, it is the first time U May Cullect hits the big time. Going to be worth a watch.
  16. Just reading his obituary. He was a little bit ahead of my time but reading through the horses he was involved with I remember Seafield Inca. Gosh, I would never have remembered that horse if it wasn't put in front of me. I only really knew of him in the twilight of his career but I bet he could tell some stories from what he had seen over the years.
  17. We had a good time in the sauna last night, she is now down to her riding weight of 52kgs. I knew I was good.....just didn't realise how good ?
  18. Yip, Brodie took this photo last summer while she was at his stables.
  19. Crikey Flag, I was eating breakfast when I saw this! Having had her for dinner last night was enough!
  20. Jack Sprat is not John Ryan. Too balanced.
  21. In Europe? I doubt it.
  22. I see a few good types are popping down with their gun Canterbury trainers to raid Invercargill on Saturday. Funny thing is, they are running into each other now!
  23. Majestic Man did well just to be the top horse in the stable! No mention of Raphoe being inducted into the Otago HOF though.
  24. A proactive ban seems to have some support. If the gallops do it then harness will surely follow.
  25. Consequently, Brodie is not sure. There, I said it.?
