  1. Seems like the name is fine with everyone. That's cool. I might go 'stipesrblind' to test the waters next time I name a horse. Will see what happens. Need to find their outer limits lol.
  2. It is working men's club day so dare not take her...she will be whisked off her feet and in the big tent before I know it!
  3. Great! Is it all voluntary?
  4. I don't mind whether they keep it or not as it is not the end of the world either way but I would lean to the side that it should have been turned down straight up. Rusty and OWM make valid points. I was just asking what people thought.
  5. Good point.
  6. Just reading about the Methven club news on HRNZ. Why did they need to conduct this maintenance? How much work goes into a grass track? Does it have to be maintained as much as a galloping track? Are there any specific requirements from HRNZ about how it should be for race day? Or are the clubs just like the local farmer who believe throwing as much water on as possible and let nature do the rest is enough! Asking out of interest.
  7. Totally pointless if they are not backing up on Sunday for the main event ?
  8. They must have their fingers crossed with Monbet that he can be competitive again. He will need to be almost 100% of his former self to match some of the new blood and that is a big big ask with age and injuries. I hope he can front up because it would make the open class trotting just about as competitive and quality filled than it has ever been.
  9. The AllStars are still overwhelming favourites to pull off that double. Their trotters are more of a threat to Sundee's Son than Classie Brigade is to Spankem etc. Also, Henry Hubert might come out of the woodwork to be a bigger threat than Classie Brigade.
  10. I might put forward one of these for HRNZ to consider next time 'Amitrying' and 'Hookeduptoday'
  11. I see in its breeding it is related to 'Fundamental' so I suppose the next one bred will be 'Fundamental Terrorist' I find it interesting that the owners get to choose. I think HRNZ are well within their boundaries to ask for it to be changed (or even mandated) but how was it allowed in the first place? There are enough snowflakes in the world already who are easily offended but 'The Terrorist'? Really?
  12. When was the last time Paul Court had runners at Methven? Am I right to say he is hardly a regular on the grass circuit?
  13. I see a horse by the name 'The Terrorist' is having its first up run at Methven on Sunday. Is that an appropriate name in this day and age? I can hear 'and the terrorist wins'.....'and the terrorist slays them' One could go on forever with possibilities. If it gets up and in grade we might hear ' The Terrorist knocks off Bush man in the shadows of the judges tower...' But I suppose it is not different to 'Stevie Lynn has Cathy Brown at the finishing post' Just a shame those 2 horses are not in the same race on Sunday.
  14. Good to hear as I would hate to not to be able to throw my money away.
  15. Trying to study up when I have time. I have narrowed a few races down to single digit possibilities at this stage ?
  16. You don't need lowering when you say RC management don't bother about insults. Have you not ever read Scoobie's attacks on participants or his deference to Pound4Pound when he ridicules posters with vile language? Let alone Scoobie and his merry men like FTM who rounded on people left right and centre? How do you think BOAY came into existence? You are just a supporter of them. You go back to RC after stirring on here and then suck up to whoever you want by complaining about us. If anybody thinks FTM would leave RC for good is deluded. He just came back as a different poster. One of the several he holds.
  17. A bit of rain is forecast for tomorrow and Saturday but I hope that won't affect the possibility of racing. The day itself will be sunny according to the forecast. I see Addington is on tomorrow as a prelude meeting for Methven ? I think the new season starts with the first grass track meeting but I may be a touched biased.
  18. Very disappointing to see this on HRNZ. There is more in the article than the part I have just copied and pasted. The open class ranks needed him around to spice things up a bit. Knee injury claims Alta Maestro 11 September 2019 , News By Jonny Turner One of saddest tales around this year’s New Zealand Cup has played out more than two months before the running of the country’s greatest race. Ashburton owners Stuart and Liz Leadley will not be represented in the event after their top class pacer Alta Maestro had to be euthanised, recently. The Robert Dunn trained 5yr-old was struck down with a crippling knee injury over winter. Vets told his connections their only realistic option was to put Alta Maestro down. “He was diagnosed with real bad arthritis – it was so bad they said you’ve got no option but to put him down,” Stuart Leadley said. “They said he would never make any kind of trekking horse or riding horse.” “There was no option, he was going to be a cripple.” Alta Maestro won nine of his 32 starts and banked over $195,000 in stakes. The Art Major pacer holds the New Zealand 2yr-old male pacers record for 1700m with his 1-59.7 win in March of 2017. Alta Maestro began his career and a head strong and free rolling front runner. Most recently, the Dunn stable transformed the horse in to a relaxed staying type and it was paying dividends. Alta Maestro raced admirably in open class last season and scored his best win in the group 3 Teltrac Communications Ltd Free-For-All at Addington in March. This year’s New Zealand Cup was to be on the horse’s agenda before tragedy struck. “We had some pretty big and realistic plans this year,” Leadley said. “We genuinely thought he was good enough to be doing some pretty good things and it was a dreadful shock.”
  19. That sort of comment are the ones that make you appear clueless. RC management don't bother about the insults! That beggars belief.
  20. You are not going to portray me in a poor light to others (especially new people who have no idea of the history) on here who do not know what you are like so I will leave my firm belief you are FTM aside for now. Look forward to you actually giving some tips and starting some threads with your own opinions on BOAY.
  21. Do what you said you were going to do and block me.
  22. FTM, JJ, Newmarket RC......all of them could go but you would only need to buy one ticket....
  23. I backed the horse 297th back on the inside...rather be there than 54 wide on the turn... Odds are fantastic too....?
  24. I don't think you could expect much more from driver or horse first up in that race and he doesn't need to be going to Addington to race yet so the options for starts would be very limited. Unlike in his first prep where he was out to win (which admittedly was not too difficult) he has now a bigger target in mind so will race accordingly. No point blowing him out with his health record. She should stay on the horse for the Cup as it is her dream to be part of this too.
  25. Quite a few of Court's horses are going. Some with reasonable talent. So without the cryptic clues, can someone tell me what the horses will do in China?
