Are the restrictions tighter for harness punters than for the galloping ones? Wouldn't the greyhounds have big punters making a killing too? With kennels dominating numbers wise, is it as dodgy as anything? They must be restricted off the planet. Just asking, as I am wondering if Harness racing punters are the TAB's biggest dislike.

The All Blacks are 'just' a team these days. Make no mistake about that. Get Liam Squire back playing as soon as possible if they can. It is a hollow forward pack without him and Retallick. The wing is no place for Ben Smith. He is not hard enough hitting. Where did Ben Lam and Waisake go? While Mo'unga is playing well enough, I think him, Savea, S Barrett and Coles come off the bench to create some form of impact. Props? We can barely get 2 on the park good enough and I doubt Franks and Moody will last a World Cup. And Nic White showed NZ's traditional achilles heel against a halfback who runs. Seems true. They say they care about losing punters but they want you the most and, really, couldn't give a flying monkey's about how much you lose to them. The concern is tokenism at best. Hence, why am I am a valued customer ? The TAB run a propaganda marketing campaign to those involved enough to see it. The KPC is just another example. They spout come and win big but as soon as you do, you are shown the door. There is $150 000 up for grabs and they are concerned about certain punters from winning money. Their margins must be bloody tight these days. It is like a retrenchment policy out of the Great Depression.

I used to know the Southland trots very well but even then I was wary of the first day of new season. Used to be a few unseen horses starting against the perennial battlers so it was tricky.

So they are trying to encourage betting and find the best punter but the best ones are not allowed in. That confuses me and must alienate the elite punters. The mix of gallops, greys and trots doesn't appeal. I thought the entry fee for previous years was a bit steep but that is just me. Always seemed plenty of people entering and I imagine they had a great time coming together and trying to pick winners.

holy shit the tournament has already started. I would go with Anna Nordqvist (even after 2, so I am not cheating) I think she showed form at the end of last week. I don't really follow here as a player but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't like backing players who competed at the business end in a major the previous week as I feel they are shot mentally.
