Still making it up in Palmy today. BOUDICCA (1) - Stewards queried the performance of this greyhound with trainer Mr. M Goodier when turning her head outwards shortly after the start, without making muzzle contact, easing or failing to pursue the lure. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a very subtle limp in the right front leg which was unable to be localized, with a 5 day incapacitation issued, not withstanding that and after considering the submissions tendered by Mr. Goodier, and the Stewards own observations the performance was deemed unsatisfactory, and the greyhound was stood down pending a trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion as per GRNZ Rule 132A(1).
  2. Another positive published today, which doesn't sound dodgy. In this case the dog was disqualified. Why not the two I've brought up earlier? https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/non-raceday-request-for-a-ruling-written-decision-dated-26-january-2023-teeing-off/
  3. So GRNZ has repeatedly said Welfare Is Paramount. So how did the Cole kennel get away with throwing welfare under the bus & get fined only $400? https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/non-raceday-inquiry-written-decision-dated-20-december-2022-lisa-cole/ A dog faulters & pulls up in a race. It gets vetted after the race & the vet tells them it is possibly fractured, splinters the leg & instructs them to have it x-rayed within 3 days. The Cole kennel found it was inconvenient to get this done, being it happened on a Friday afternoon & with the weekend coming 3 days isn't enough time to get it done, so they choose not to get it done at all. Steward rings them on the 3rd day & they didn't answer so he left a message. Coles never returned the call & they were approached on Wednesday at the track (5 days later). It seems someone at the Cole kennel must have used their x-ray vision to decide it wasn't a break. Welfare doesn't seem to matter when it comes to the Cole kennel. A $400 fine to a kennel that wins $2M a year isn't a deterrent to reoffending. The investigation & hearing alone would have cost the industry more than twenty times the amount of the fine handed down. I reckon MPI and/or the SPCA should investigate animal cruelty issues over this.

So Mr R Quirk and/or Mr D Wadley do not believe that the #4 (Oliviero) either failed to pursue or marred in this race, they chose to simply write in down somewhere. (Performance noted)? So, what is performance noted? What good is noting performance? This race will have no bearing on any races this dog runs in the future. If they charge this dog for an infraction in another race, this race will play no part in that hearing. What does the "I" in RIB stand for again? In this case the "I" stands for ignorance. The Stewards are making shit up as they go along. Noting performance does not appear in the rulebook. Effectively they have threatened the dog empty words.
  6. At the end of the day, he had a dead rabbit in his freezer. While that suggests something suspicious might have been intended for it, it doesn't prove anything was going to be done with it. However, a rule was written against having it & everyone knows about it. He got caught & was fined $10k for it. Justice (on that front) has been served. What I do have a problem with is that the rabbit was found in the freezer because the RIB turned up unannounced to inform them of the positive swab for Cobalt. Sounds to me a deal was done where if he agreed to plead guilty to dead baiting, the positive swab would simply be swept under the carpet. So, no penalty to for the trainer for most probably injecting too much vitamin B12 in the dog. No disqualification of the dog means that any purse won will be kept. No justice for any dogs placed behind the doped dog, which obviously had an illegal unfair advantage, whether it had a chomp at some point on a dead rabbit or not. Even in those few Cambridge instances for positive Morphine swabs a few years ago, which came from poppy seeds in the professionally manufactured dog kibble, at least the dogs were disqualified, and the placings were amended. The same sort of thing slipped through with Fredrickson case in the CD, where the blame for MDMA was placed on the swabbing steward. The dog was never disqualified so there was no justice for dogs placed behind it. Both Fredrickson & O'Regan returned positive swabs after a race so a DQ for the dog at a minimum is a must.
  7. Seven months have passes since these announcements of charges being laid. Why has it taken 7+ months for these two, yet the Toomer case took only about a month? https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/charges-laid/ As for ignoring positives, it also seems that the cobalt swab returned which was over the threshold & the "B" sample which was sent off to Aussie for testing that had also returned a reading higher than the threshold has disappeared into nothingness. As part of the aftermath of that initial investigation, why hasn't this decision been made public yet? Afterall, the swab was the reason for the "routine investigation" for the "unrelated matter" they refer to. It'll all be part of a devious underhanded plan to coverup inconvenient evidence for a protected participant. The RIB/RIU & GRNZ have a history of this sort of behavior.

Who's "kurious" in the toxic suite? Rendle, Glenda, Hannan, or Rennell himself? Obviously, someone with very close ties with Rennell. My crystal ball guess is in bold & here's why. After recently stepping down, She's been freed from obligations & requirements in the GRNZ rulebook.
  9. Bit further down in the report, it seems the starter had an oops & then did a runner. Stewards declared this race a no-race after the Starter prematurely activated the green light prior to all greyhounds being loaded into their boxes setting the lure in motion. Stewards have opened and adjourned an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this due to the Starter being unavailable at the conclusion of the meeting.
  10. Maidens will be maidens. Race 2 Cambridge today, three different dogs put out for FTP. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15338/stewards-report.aspx Yet it should have been four dogs charged with FTP, but the Steward let the #2 off this time for looking right in the backstretch for two or three strides.

GRNZ and its board NEVER answer to anything. Why should they? They're supreme. They're the boss. They are the ultimate multimillion-dollar business decision makers. They can just serve up what they want, when they want it. There's no accountability for their decisions or actions. The owners & trainers just follow them around generally trying to do the right things (not always) to comply with GRNZ's whims & keep food on their table & in their dog's dishes. If the owners or trainers dog gets so injured it never races again or get put down due to catastrophic injury because of poor tracks and/or poor maintenance of them, the cost is all on the owner/trainer. It cost GRNZ $0.00 to put down a dog on Thursday because it sustained two broken hocks & a compound fracture. The Vet was going to be paid the same whether it happened or not. I've pushed for this before, but the TRAINERS & OWNERS (at least the decent ones & they know who they are) need to come together & stop nominating their dogs at Auckland, at least until probably April or May. The track is only going to get worse before then. Nothing good will get done with the track if everyone keeps doing as they always have done. Leave the track to the Meth heads & vitamin B12 injectors to fill the fields (if they can) & let them ruin or kill their dogs there.

The original video which was up has been re-edited to take the worst bit out in the home straight. Both dogs that received serious injuries yesterday during the tote races were well off the rail & free of any interference. One in catching turn & one in the home turn. So how many serious injuries does that make in now in the last 3 race meeting held there? 1 of them was prior to fixing (ruining) the track & 2 since. Didn't they even put in a huge water storage tank & drill a bore for water so they wouldn't be short of it not too long ago? Surely someone must understand the water needs to be applied to the track. 14 filled desks at headquarters. 1 welfare manager & 1 track expert in Australia. It isn't even funny anymore. It's time for owners & trainers to file criminal charges against the GRNZ (the lot of them) & recoup some of their losses.

So now the Stewards no longer give a written running detail of a race & at someone's whim they're just going to flip the switch off for a replay. Then the punters can't watch it & make informed decision on their own. If that's going to be the case, might as well just drop 8 numbers in a hat & drawn 1st, 2nd & 3rd place out of it. Maybe they've begun to test a new plan like this for the future, because they know their current plan isn't going to end pretty.

They had a 42-day injury & a broken hock in a qualifying trial prior to the race meeting and the stewards let the tote races go ahead. Really? Then they had to delay race 7 to put extra water on the track. This alone proves that they knew there was problems with the track. So, are participants demanding GRNZ get rid of their so-called expert? Are they demanding a safe track to race on? Do trainers & owners have the balls to STOP nominating their dogs for race meets at Auckland? Surely they know that the track isn't safe by now. The sport is fvcked because GRNZ & the RIB are out of their depth & they always have been. This happens EVERY summer in AKL. It's not a surprise it's an expectation.

Heard GRNZ is paying out the stakes for yesterday's fiasco, which at least helps the trainers out some. Also heard GRNZ have apologized for it happening. History says that the expert will now blame the track staff, if he is to repeat his blame someone else route he continually used in AU. What GRNZ should do is FIRE the expert, apologize for hiring him in the first place & payout to trainers/owners the same amount of money they paid to him for his worthless services/salary.

The "expert" gave his approval to return to racing on 12/12. https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/2956/Manukau-Stadium-Update Just 6 days later, after a wet (but not torrential) week, the ALL-WEATHER track was not suitable for racing, after spending a couple of months getting it back up to speed. 30mm over the 6 days isn't that much water for NZ conditions. What an absolute waste of money, paying someone who doesn't know what he's doing & losing two months of shutdown for no gain whatsoever. Who's to say the track isn't in worse condition now than it was before he started working on it? You just can't make this shit up. Credit to the Stewards for calling it what it was. Hopefully they've learned from their past mistakes & continue to make good decisions revolving around welfare.

GRNZ's newly hired National Racing Safety & Infrastructure Manager Bill Wilson has shown his true worth. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15285/stewards-report.aspx The warnings about his expertise have now come to light (even though GRNZ ignored them in the first place). https://australianracinggreyhound.com/tag/bill-wilson/ But hey, at least GRNZ can report to Govt they have a racing safety & infrastructure manager on the books now, even though he's still based in AU. Great job Glenda & Mr. Dore. He's just the man NZ racing needs. Just wait till this trickles down to Wanganui & it's TWO tracks!

    Here's the "pre scratching" data. 11 potential race meetings used to compare. 14 Aug 2022 = 248.13.5.6.26 21 Aug 2022 = 4.7.23.26.2.26.24 25 Aug 2022 = 567.4.46.5 28 Aug 2022 = 23.3.247.2.58.24 01 Sep 2022 = 567.27.46.24 04 Sep 2022 = 4.2456.123.56.6.47 08 Sep 2022 = 345.4.4 11 Sep 2022 = 1.1235.57.1356.7.37 15 Sep 2022 = 567.47.5.2 18 Sep 2022 = 5.27.16.8.5.56.346. 22 Sep 2022 = No runners Pre (covered up) positive swab ~ FIVE Winners : EIGHTEEN Seconds : TEN Thirds : SIXTYFOUR Unplaced 33 in the money : 64 out of the money = 34% in the money Post (covered up) positive swab ~ ONE Winner : ONE Second : FOUR Thirds : THIRTY Unplaced 6 in the money : 30 out of the money = 17% in the money In the money TWICE as often prior to the cover-up.

https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15183/stewards-report.aspx All his dogs were scratched on 25 Sept. That would have been shortly after he had been notified of the swab. During that in-person kennel visit notification by the RIB, the live/dead baiting evidence was discovered. For an interesting comparison, if you like to check it out, compare the numbers you already have for 5 weeks Nov & Dec with the numbers from 5 weeks early-July to mid-Sept, just prior to the scratching. It won't prove or disprove anything, but it might uncover a very interesting trend.

After Mr Dore is done trying to sweep the O'Regan Cobalt + and live/dead baiting incidents under the carpet, he might as well keep his broom out because it's time this one is addressed again. https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/2864/16-June-2022-GRNZ-Media-Release-re-charges-laid- It's been nearly 6 months since the charges were laid, therefore even longer since the alleged offences were committed, so what is the hold up? Has it been passed on to the SPCA so they can drag their feet for a couple of years before the crown prosecutor can withdraw the charges so they can walk away free & continue racing dogs? Just like they have for the last many months? Just like Cole did?
  21. C'mon Top Dog. You can do better than this. After race 9 a dog had a suspected fracture/sprained hock. Yet before race 10 it was known to be fractured. Did the PNGRC purchase/commission onsite x-ray equipment between races? https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15291/stewards-report.aspx
  22. Yankiwi

    Oregans

So what's happening with the alleged live/dead baiting & Cobalt positive swab? Surely both of these need to be heard by the RIB. Maybe Mr Dore needs reminding?
  23. GRNZ made the statement - https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/2864/16-June-2022-GRNZ-Media-Release-re-charges-laid- $30k Galaxy $100K Cup $30K Stayers Cup Three G1 races - Three box #1 allocations for the Deputy Chairmans kennel.
  24. Three Group 1 races tonight at Addington - Cup night. Isn't it convenient that the Boards Deputy Chairman's kennel have Box #1 in all three of them. One day the corruption within Greyhound racing will come to an end. That will probably be the day that it gets shut down. Oh and by the way, still waiting to hear about those two positive Meth charges to be heard & published that were tipped off ages ago, which GRNZ also confirmed.
  25. 8 races x 8 dogs = 64 dogs. 3 races x 7 dogs = 21 dogs 85 total dogs. 9 injuries requiring a stand-down, 7 of which were serious requiring 21+ day stand-downs. Over 10% of the dogs sustained injury. Now the big inquiry as to why. Then they'll find out the track was too dry. That's only been happening since well forever from mid-spring to mid-autumn. How were they supposed to predict that?
