Wasn't that long ago & Govt put GRNZ on final notice. So, what has GRNZ done about it? Well, Grant Robertson won't be looking favorably on this - On Trace magazine claims GRNZ doesn't even have a welfare manager! https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/On Track Magazine/February OnTrack Magazine Single page version.pdf I won't inform Grant, just yet.

Not likely. GRNZ haven't even announced that they've hired a new welfare manager yet. They're probably holding back because they are trying to work out how they can justify that the position can be filled by a person that doesn't even reside in NZ. Or could it be that they're just trying to work out how to fit so many faces on their "meet the team" page? Where's Liz? Where's the secret welfare manager? https://www.grnz.co.nz/about-nzgra/meet-the-team.aspx
  3. A long read, but well worth the time. https://www.nzcpr.com/marxism-it-could-not-happen-here-could-it/
  4. After your greyhound forum has gone completely quiet for over a month, then a member takes the time to post some relevant content, why don't you say "Thank you" instead of trying to correct their grammar/wording?! See you again in March, possibly.
  5. 11 suits in headquarters plus 7 board members. February is a week away. I volunteer to alter GRNZ's website for them, as it seems 18 people are being overworked & there isn't enough available time to let stakeholder & participants know what will be happening next week and beyond. Attn: Glenda/Michael - Here is an example of the potential workmanship that I have to offer. .
  6. Omicron will be much more fun to fight off when you have your best suntan of the year & far easier than fighting off Delta any time of the year. Delta is still circulating in NZ, Omicron isn't thus far. Jacinda is probably trying to hold back Omicron from breaking out for personal reasons until after her big day. I personally hope she's unsuccessful.
  7. My initial question was quite a simple one. If a gunshot victim with Covid is a Covid death, then why isn't a fully vaccinated car crash victim a Covid vaccine death? Govt reporting the largest number possible of Covid deaths makes their tragic response to the pandemic look better than it was/is. Govt reporting the smallest number of vaccine deaths/complications possible makes their draconian mandates more justifiable than they are. The Pfizer jab that didn't work as expected after a first & second jab, the Govt is now offering (soon to be expecting) a third "booster" that still doesn't work against Omicron, which is about as dangerous as a bad common cold. Instead of mandating the vaccine, Govt would better serve its people by mandating exposure to Omicron. The vaccine has cause much more damage than the virus has & anyone to believe anything different is naïve, foolish. and/or a Jacinda sympathizer.
  8. Since the Govt calculates & reports Covid deaths as "Died with Covid", why aren't all those that were vaccinated and have then died calculated & reported as "Died with the Covid vaccine"?
  9. Hey Aquaman, you might want to reconsider getting the jab. I have and it's great! 🤩
  10. Aquaman, the above two quotes are from the "Amazing Chase" Thread. The following quote is from this thread. I don't recall you changing your stance about Trump or Covid vaccinations, why the about-face here? If Liz was replacing Mr. Dore, I'd be jumping for joy. But to bring Liz into headquarters through the back door into a position seeming written just for her is simply wrong. If the position in headquarters was deemed as needed by a competent board, which everyone knows they don't have, then GRNZ should have called for application for the position long before it was awarded to anyone. Long live the Rendle monarchy.
  11. Hey Aquaman, remember this fiasco your two heroes caused not so long ago?
  12. The COO will require a new seat & desk. The role has never existed with GRNZ before. As far as I can gather, this "new position" was not offered to the market. Therefore it's a back door move and a position written to suit what she has to offer to it, whatever that might be. GRNZ services 10 racing clubs with a total of only 5 race day venues currently. GRNZ has 10 suits currently at headquarters, Ms Whelan will make that 11. On top of that there are 7 board members. So 18 suits to oversee 10 clubs & 5 tracks. Something is very very wrong.
  13. This will prove to be a major improvement within the GRNZ headquarters cartel. Link To Earth Shattering News Long live the Rendle monarchy!
  14. I've been taught to never accept personal medical advice from a Vet. However my dog feels differently & now wants the Covid jab. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=316426259864456

    Huge effort!

I won't be cheering for a kennel that has stuffed the sport. If you want to sing the Cole kennels praises, you might as well give them a shout out for the Galaxy Heats today too. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14748/result-summary.aspx Maybe the Cole kennel should just train all the greyhounds in the country & put some urgency in the ending of the sport.

  17. Hi Gail, How's Homebush Connor doing these days? https://www.grnz.co.nz/greyhounds/profiles.aspx?AnimalID=30810 Qualified at 15 months old. Retired at 21 months old after a bit of a mishap with the rail. Always seemed quite a happy & playful pup around the track. Obviously got some special attention from the kennel having received a 4 month rest break between his last two races during his 6 month racing career. His final race was intentionally up 4.1kg. Great to see it wasn't the scales fault & an early part of the rehoming plan. If he all patched up now & still somewhere around the kennels, someone here on BOAY might be interested in giving him a forever home. Regards, Charles
  18. You're close with your parody but a peg or two to low. Really it isn't much different to get pulled over by the cops, blowing over the limit and saying 'well my mate is the MP that wrote the law & has given me a note saying they reckon because I have never had an accident and can still drive safely then clearly it is absurd to suggest I have been affected by alcohol' What the GRNZ Board has done in this instance was to intimidate the judicial system into the outcome they desired. I agree about the dog being charged in the first place. Their have been several far more flagrant instances that which were not even so much as mentioned in the Stewards report.
  19. The rules or wording of them didn't between these two hearings but something obviously has (see above quote). The JCA's Geoff Hall, Chairman 17 Feb 2021. [44] That LITTLE LEAF won the race is irrelevant. For 3½ strides the dog’s head was focused away from the lure. [45] LITTLE LEAF has thus “failed to pursue” as provided in the Rules. The Review is unsuccessful. We add we do not believe the Review was completely devoid of merit and thus we do not accept Mr Wallis’s submission that it was frivolous. http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/nzgra-request-for-review-p-green-v-riu-written-decision-dated-17-february-2021-chair-prof-g-hall The RIB's Geoff Hall, Chairman 13 Oct 2021. [39] Considerations (factors) which may influence the exercise of the discretion under r 55.1(b) as to whether to stand a Greyhound down for failing to pursue include: how long a period of time was the head of the dog turned away from the lure (the head of BIG TIME PRADA was turned for 2 strides — there was no easing, so that aspect of the Rule was not engaged); was the dog looking to other dogs and wanting to engage with them (BIG TIME PRADA was not looking at the other dogs as they were some distance behind her); the weather conditions (in this case they were atrocious); was there a noticeable change in stride (there was not); what was the outcome of the race — and again we add we agree with the Stewards that this is only one factor to go into the mix, it is far from determinative (BIG TIME PRADA won the race in a very quick time); did the dog become unbalanced for reasons other than interference — eg due to the state of the track (there was no submission that the state of the track caused BIG TIME PRADA to become unbalanced and turn her head); was the dog’s focus on the lure diverted — by eg an act of nature or the actions of a third party, such as a stranger, a photographer, or the presence of another animal — eg a hare or rabbit (the heavy rain beating on the outside fence is alleged to have startled BIG TIME PRADA, who is a “hearing” Greyhound). No doubt there will be further factors (as in Race 2 at Dunedin on 3 December 2019, as discussed above, for example); this list does not purport to be exhaustive. [43] The Review is successful and the 28 day stand down and satisfactory trial imposed upon BIG TIME PRADA under 55.1(b) by the Stewards on 13 September is lifted. https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/grnz-request-for-review-reserved-decision-dated-13-october-2021-craig-rendle/
  20. Seems a bit of a rinse & repeat of the week prior. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14724/stewards-report.aspx Runners in the 2nd, 5th, 6th & 7th. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14724/result-detail.aspx
  21. It's a serious conflict of interest when a trainer/owner is allowed to be the lure driver in a race which they train and/or own one or more of the dogs. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14733/stewards-report.aspx He had entrants in the 4th, 6th & 7th races at Manukau today. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/14733/result-detail.aspx And oddly enough, he was the trainer & syndicate member of he winner of race #6 (Thrilling Hudson) as a $9.50 outsider when there was an incident with the lure being to close to the leading dog. Yet another example of officials looking the other way, just to get dogs around the track. So much for "being on notice" from the government. The officials are leading the charge to getting the industry shut down an participants just sit around & watch it happen...
  22. So much for the RIB creating integrity reform as it was meant to do. This wasn't fast talking lawyers swaying the emotions of a jury in their favour. This was a carefully considered decision of a corrupt judicial system (JCA) influenced by a biased, conflicted governing body (GRNZ). Nothing more, nothing less. For once, the policing body (RIU) was the one to get it right, although they didn't show much vigor or conviction in the hearing.
  23. It's not what has been done, it's who's done it. The old boys club is still alive, strong & ruling the code in a manner for personal gain. Hannan jumping up to the defense of Rendle because of a FTP. When's the last time the board chair played a major role in defending a GRNZ rule breach charge? https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/grnz-request-for-review-reserved-decision-dated-13-october-2021-craig-rendle/
