I've often wondered why the nick-name Scooby was selected... Seems a bit more like Scrappy to me.

Drains were clogged was the excuse the last couple of times they lost a meeting. Yesterday the weather report was there for everyone to read.... It is autumn (leaves)... The infield is still higher in elevation than the rail is..... The same management is in place..... Did anyone expect a different outcome? I didn't. If they end up drawing the final field from a hat for next week, then they might as well take it one step further and draw the top three for the final from the same hat.

Why is there a need to scam money from someone when you've won 1.75M in stakes thus far this season? Something just isn't ringing true. Side note: This is a very different topic than the "Schofield 2 year ban" which the thread is intended for.

Brando wasn't half the dog over the middle distance that he was prior to his silver collar preparation & victory. I recall connections of Brando at the time saying it ruined him. One of my dogs finished 4th in that same Silver Collar race & was awarded $200 for his appearance. Today, a 4th place finisher in an everyday C4/C5 middle distance race is awarded $282 in stakes money. I wonder why so many owners & trainers had left the sport in recent years?

Tendency in the past would have seen a CD kennel nominate 3 or 4 dogs to get drawn to the fields, with no intentions of actually starting the dogs. It's happened week in & week out, over the last few years with most of the distance races carded in the CD.

Good spotting CC. Seems the problems were on Friday in Race #9. The TAB has got it right. GRNZ have it wrong.

Sam doesn't seem very far out of place in the photo either. It's not the posture of someone that doesn't approve of what they are doing.

How hard is it to get the details of a race correct? Even with electronic timing, video footage & photo finish cameras they still somehow seem to get it wrong. Greyhound racing is an industry of contradictions, conflict of interests & cover-ups. It's obvious to me that the RIU, GRNZ board & the GRNZ staff are not up to the task to sort anything out.

Most will know exactly why in WN's form line for 25 Apr 17 a "D" appears. My question, since he was later disqualified for producing a positive swab on that date, why does he still show $1440.00 in stakes winnings for that race? Most likely just some more top notch record keeping by GRNZ.

What's a 10K fine to someone that's won 1.5M thus far in this racing season? About the same as spending $150 at the grocery store & having them charge you 10 cents for a plastic bag to put them in. $10K fines x 4 (the three in photo's & Lisa as the listed trainer) & a lifetime disqualification for the 4 of them. The good news for them is they don't do time behind bars. C'mon Sam, spill the beans & have the ones taken down that should be. Don't take your portion of the rap for them.

Easily made it past your Ban Scooby.... I found nothing too noteworthy. However, I see no need to thank your sheep for sticking around while you cleaned out the troublemakers. I suppose somehow a statement as such might make you feel a bit better about yourself. Just a reminder, I cleaned myself from your site a bit over two years ago, completely by MY choice. The Admin here seems to be quite happy with my "trouble making". They understand it's good for their page hit count.

There's going to be some very long hours spent by LP's at the Vet's, while their dog undergoes leg reconstruction surgery & recovery or the like.... No more getting the parents in to look after the dogs for one night, while Mr & Mrs trainer go out for a few drinks.

I've heard he's now a scientist woking in paper mill. A nice guy with a real love/understanding of the greyhound industry. The NZRB lost a very valuable asset because of one night in Wanganui. The NZRB would be in a better position now if they kept Brian on the books & lost Wanganui......
