Yes, unfortunately mud sticks, especially in sex cases. But in this case, George was the victim of vigilante, lynch mob justice, being made a scapegoat for historical sexual offending by Catholic clergy. If you saw George running the gauntlet entering Court during his first two trials you would understand what i mean. Hear our useless fake news here in NZ interviewing victims of abuse re what their thoughts are to the result. These victim interviewees were unanimous in their condemnation of the result, but actually had nothing to do with Georges case, but never the less were convinced he must be guilty regardless of evidence or lack of it, they just wanted to hang somebody, anybody. Just rubbish low quality radio jocks such as Heather Du Plessis Allen looking for sensationalism rather than truth.

Hey mumbles, all 7 Judges were unanimous in their decision, and it didn't take them long by their standards to reach a verdict. How must those two Judges from the Victorian Supreme Court feel now being over ruled by their peers. The whole saga has reflected badly on the Australian legal system, but finally got it right at the very end of the judicial system. Don't know George, but I bet its a sweet day for him.

What i cannot understand is, why no follow up on all dogs by the RIU. They have the figure's from the NZGRA of all dogs chipped and branded. How many are being put down by a Vet as against those just disappearing down a hole. Have not seen one charge yet against any trainer or owner from disposing a dog illegally. This tells me that an awful lot of dogs are just vanishing.

I see after Israels success at defending his rights to free speech in his action against Rugby Australia, his career is now on a roll with Catalan Dragons in France. George Pells appeal to the Supreme Court of Australia begins 10th March. I think 7 Judges sit on the Supreme Court. Surely this time he will get justice and be found not guilty. This case will have huge ramifications for the Australian Judicial system. Catholic people throughout the world are praying all this week for acquittal of George Pell. Clearly Pell was convicted on emotion and not evidence. I look forward to the Supreme Court rectifying this huge miscarriage of justice.

In 1997 I found myself in the same situation which happened at Auck on Sunday. I was in the first heat for the Silver Collar with Aqua Floss. She was the favourite in box 1. The lure stopped after running 350 mtrs. Floss was leading and going to win. They the Club wanted to draw the two that were going to go through from this heat, Floss incidently was the favourite to win the final from memory. I kicked up merry hell and explained to the committee, I had traveled many miles for this event, and thought it grossly unfair it should be reduced to a raffle. I managed to convince them the proper thing to do was to rerun the heat after the last race as a non tote for the advertised stake money. The connections of all runners were given the choice to rerun or pull out penalty free. Only one dog pulled out. All dogs were returned to the kennel block where they waited until the last race was run. Floss lead all the way in the rerun, and went on to run 2nd in the final to Gotta Cruise. This in my opinion is what should of happened in this instance. They have probably hamstrung themselves by becoming to cute with their own rules, ie so many mtrs on one day garbage. Nothing surprises anymore.

That maybe so, but I would expect those that represent racing, ie Clubs, NZGRA, NZTB, HRNZ, to be making submissions trying to get as much for racing as possible. Not sitting on their asses letting it all happen as seems to be happening.

The racing bodies and clubs are yet to join the dots between punters equating to income, so the fact that small things like the changing of the constitution within the TAB to favor sports betting over racing is of little concern.
