  1. Countless rumours like this in the industry that amount to nothing Gee so don't get your hopes up.
  2. An outstanding race, I've liked Santa Ana Lane since his win in the Goodwood and I'm sticking with him and I like Snitz in the Kosciuosko. What an unreal days racing it is!
  3. Yes the Shooting to Win and Rubick(I know already had a runner placed) both from E&E mares will be interesting runners also the Brazen Beau at Flemington will be interesting the way his sire is going.
  4. Good call that's a shocker, happens when you have no one interested in the product you're promoting TURNBALL STAKES
  5. Punting off jumpouts maketh a poor man poorer , speaking from experience.
  6. I've always liked him and seen some nice types at the sales but he just hasn't kicked on with that good 3yo that all stallions on that sort of fee need to have. On the value side of things I was asking my self the same question a few weeks ago. I came to the conclusion its gotten more difficult to find value but from a breeding to racing perspective (under $10k in NZ as I see it) I came up with Alamosa,Bullbars,Zed,Roc De Cambes and R2R on the proven list and of the unproven at a reasonable fee Derryn,Complacent,Wrote and Rageese.
  7. I agree the US Racing is just so utterly pointless and of no entertainment value at all.
  8. It will be a submission to another crowd who haven't got a clue what they are looking at(particularly from the sale of the racecourses) and more than likely just going through the motions.
  9. Yes only lacking that big horse, then there is the Zed of Australia the mighty Bon Hoffa more my price range ;0
  10. Indeed or Darci, Zacinto ,Per Incanto,Swiss Ace or Shamexpress for less.
  11. Happening across the country I think Reefton, folk who have been MIA from the club scene now popping up from the reeds to tell everyone who has been working the shift at the club what to do, where the F@@@ have they been?
  12. Speaking of stallions that need a horse , you'd have to say something by Ocean Park and Reliable Man is going to have to kick a goal this season or it would be difficult to justify their fees.
  13. I tend to agree with you, he is getting some Aus winners but he needs something decent to pop up this spring for sure. See the run of Tavistock Abbey yesterday looks like he could be worth following.
  14. Seriously impressive animal, I hope they get the $$ they want for her , if not I'll certainly enjoy watching it race in NZ !
  15. Possibly be more turnover without them?
  16. Here is what we do in NZ , we employ people to copy off what they have done in Australia , I can't think of anything original to come out of NZracing in years. The new website bears a distinct resemblance to racing.com.
  17. How good is Enable, seriously impressive on the AW at Kempton.
  18. Not to mention Jockey Agents that are tipping horses on preview shows, that just screams conflict of interest , I've never understood why they have allowed that, well I do cause those who run it aren't punters, breeders or owners so don't understand a thing!
  19. I agree , I never thought I'd feel this way (betrayed if you like ) by the industry but I'm also questioning my involvement , should this proceed or not ,you just can't trust those running the sport thats being shown to be true ,or a lot of those in the sport having revealed their true colours.
  20. Who knows gallops code may be next.
  21. Great post I think you're bang on!
  22. Don't worry they are.
  23. Yep you're exactly right, in fact I'm of the opinion you only need your premier tracks to have excellent facilities the rest that are mostly running industry race days and are for TV races or summer festival are a different experience altogether, but lets face it this is just BS to get through what they want to. I don't imagine crowd attendances will increase outside of the norm at any of these locations due to track closures, they are alienating a whole bunch of future punters, racegoers , breeders and communities with these closures , I believe racing is going to become even less relevant than it is today(that's hard to believe) in this country if these recommendations take effect.
  24. Going to be interesting to see how he goes with the new stock bought at the sales, at the moment a lot of these runners have the Autridge polish on them. I'm sure he'll go well as he has assembled a nice team of experienced horse people around him, one things for sure he's gonna "Thank Dave " no matter what happens.
  25. Sums it all up really. Really poor form from many of these people who know very well a lot of proposed recommendations such as track closures borders on theft and their lack of empathy for those impacted says a lot about them really well it says "me me me me!!!"
