  1. We had a discussion about this previously i think when I posted on another site under Integrity101 My understanding was Daniel took the raw data literally and made the point small time differences (where the study may have used " not significantly" in a different context) can translate into winning margins...1/2L = @ 0.1sec et el Just an aside ,when the RIB are invited by Stewards to increase fines/days suspension for winning they clearly have no idea about Dan's thinking...in the recent instance of Satherely cheating while winning...RIB's Gavin Jones said more or less 'a $50 increase in fine when winning then but we dont believe the nose victory had anything to do with the extra strike' In fact ex Head of Auckland CIB Gav got it wrong, claimed his claim of 1 extra strike was a typo when it was 2...changed the report after I alerted them but didn't increase the extra $50 or show the fact the margin was 0.1 L...of course 2 extra strikes won the race as evidenced by the sectionals
  2. Daniel O'Sullivan's his name https://betsmart.racing/ Dont be lazy...whip him an email yourself...but dont leave any welts
  3. BIG HEART on that one The only way to post more nasty piks like JKB's was attaching PAST attachments which is what i did But no doubt he'll be working on taking that away as well #megalomaniac
  4. So Neil Davis has given up "Just a note that using the PDF formlines for analysing the form is a waste of time. There are so many errors in them, that I was going to note them but it was taking too much time, especially the jumping races." totally agree...noticed one on Saturday that was 3 wide without cover at its last start... Entain's take "Trailed" They spend so much money on extra talking heads on Trackside then letting the basics go like this is stupidity and ultimately false economy
  5. Oh golly! Missed that missive... Wondered why my ability to post attachments has been TAKEN away altogether and also my want to like certain posts! BIG GROWLY FACE on Chief Stipe...it's like he's an Ayatollah or something
  6. Do whips improve performance? "The received wisdom is that whipping a horse makes it more likely to win. However, a landmark study published in 2011 showed increased whipping does not significantly affect a horse’s speed at the finishing line. This reflects the reality that, as they finish a race, most horses are losing speed because they are fatigued. The comparison study mentioned above also found no difference in finishing times between whipping-free and conventional races." As before, the doyen of race analysis in Australia Dan O'Sullivan analysed this "significantly" and showed that very small margins in time can translate to far bigger margins in distance than imagined I agreed with his expert finding that indeed "using the whip increases the chance of running faster"
  7. I suspect John Oatham is behind the "ignore this rule" command Afterall he said the 'notification to change race tactics' was too difficult here even though it works in Australia He's too exhausted travelling the whole country from venue to venue to know where the hell reality is pointed One of THE greatest wastes of spending in RIB's tight budget
  8. I showed stipes this one of Shaun Fannin leaving welt marks in the Wellington Steeples...the head of RIB at the time said "the vet was too busy with other things at the time" like this one of JKB
  9. FFS...the flank's where the flank is!! The nasty screen shot of JKB's welt mark...right on the flank! Like we all know where your lint filled belly button or is that where your ass is? get a grip man!
  10. Suffice to say Any 'bet' that dosn't meet the minimum bet level is a dead set long term loser...obviously Unless Entain are letting their mates on?? What's incredible though...is the likes of bookmaker Steve Hunt, who has a part in setting the odds...is allowed to punt!
  11. oh of course it is...doh!!
  12. And Bruno in the 2nd race with the final strike before he gets up in the last few strides, the ultimate stinging 90 degree flex using all the muscle he can muster...into the flank And 'they'say "it's all about the noise not the hurt' #pfftt
  13. The flank of a horse is located on the side of the horse, behind the rib cage and in front of the hind legs, specifically, the area between the barrel (ribcage) and the hindquarters. It's a sensitive area and is often described as a slightly indented space.
  14. It shows JKB striking the flank with the non padded polymer/handle and the resultant indentation/welt left VERBOTEN
  15. #yeana Take a look at the vid nasty https://loveracing.nz/Common/SystemTemplates/Modal/Video.aspx?v=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202505%2fM4_WANG_R05_310525.mp4&i=%2fCommon%2fImage.ashx%3fw%3d565%26h%3d314%26a%3d1%26o%3d1%26z%3d1%26bg%3deeeeee%26p%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202505%2fM4_WANG_R05_310525.jpg&r=Race 5 - DAWN EALES-BALDWIN MEMORIAL OPN 1200&rs=1
  16. Exactly! It's the sheer hypocrisy of NZTR setting up a 'Welfare' division, signing up to "zero flank" whipping circa 2020 with the International body...then ignoring it until they were dragged kicking and screaming this year to finally adopt it Then being found out to be virtue signalling (in cahoots with RIB) to turn a blind eye with ONE charge in 4 months where as you point out...it's OCCURRING IN EVERY RACE This is Toni Davies winning on IMA BRAZEN ONE at Whanganui with every single strike aimed at the flank...remember there's nothing about allowing strikes on a saddle cloth if they think that's ok...besides the whip end flexes under the cloth and onto the sensitive barrel
  17. Excellent article Some VERY strange "big bets" being announced on trackside recently $1334 yesterday on Te Akau's horse at 2.5?? Money laundering?
  18. Speaking of women...where's Sammy Spratt Has she eloped and changed her name?
  19. You do your own? Bullshit The previously excellent PDF's have been torn asunder with inaccurate gear change info, AI 'intelligence' failing to match Stipe reports, entire form lines left out et el
  20. Onya Chief Unfortunately by closing threads down you avoid serious debate and give impetus to the competition Who stole my intellectual property..and we cant have that Do far better
  21. What gives, is nothing sacred anymore? I put a hell of an effort in to post ugly illegal whip piks and doo doo goes and plucks them off this site! Good question then, why was this thread shut down and my IP stolen to continue the debate elsewheres ffs?
  22. it's called 'reality tv' You're in some kind of fantasy world where you think WELTS and ARM ABOVE THE SHOULDER have been manufactured by stealth...weird At least Gavin Jones ex Cop ex head of Auckland CIB has now changed his 'fantasy RIB report' to "5" after reading his mistake on here "After reviewing the films, it was noted that Ms Satherley’s mount finished the race off strongly. She won the race by a narrow margin and over the concluding 100 metres she struck her mount a further five times. Although the additional strikes were not deemed as being excessive nor were they considered to have been a determinative factor in her winning the race, a small uplift, as recommended by Stewards is applied as it is deemed an aggravating factor. Accordingly, a $50 (25%) uplift is applied to the starting point penalty. Note: "It shall not be a contravention of the Rule if a Rider strikes a horse seven times prior to the 100-metre mark and does not strike the horse more than three times after the 100-metre mark. On this occasion Ms Satherley struck her mount five times after the 100 mark. Thus, the reason for the charge." So the sectional times are in and Josh ran 0.05 faster from the 400M to the 200M or a lg nk/1/2L...and 5 strikes...enabled him to be level at the 200M and a further 7 strikes from the 200M maintained a 0.1L win And old mate Gav 'thinks' the cheating didn't make a jot of difference #pfftt
  23. What on earth are you talking about? "this type of image" is straight off the telly with ZERO photo shopping as per Curious posting exactly the same shot I couldn't photo shop a fly let alone a horse...I'm useless at anything tech These REAL piks show the RIB/NZTR are virtual signalling their way into the November 'thoroughbred open day' where multi media will be present lauding the effort of 'horse people' that it's all 'zero pain and total care' When EVERY single race shows a jockey striking the flank of a horse which of course is verboten due to the extreme pain a horse feels on that area Only the RIB stipes have been instructed to ignore this rule...with one only charge been issued in over 3/4 months Wake up
  24. You're right, Neil knows his stuff Especially good at adding form lines like "slower inner' which saves having to remember what the form was on a certain day AI can go to hell as far as I'm concerned Entain's spend has been enormous on talking heads but FORM is permanent...and race form is King..not celebs
