I'm picking the starter still expects to be paid, as I say don't bet much on gallops where do you see the Stipes report on trackside they went back to the start and said looked like jockey wasn't in saddle.

How is that not a late scratching, will be interested to see a Stipe report but from someone that doesn't follow the gallops much and talking through his pocket I think I'll stick to trotts and occasional bets on the Aussie gallops, NZ now on the list.

Wouldn't it be outrageous if mile racing actually suited some horse's and gave the owners a chance of actually winning something? Nah why cater for them at all. What do you actually think all the American bred stallions we are using produce .

About 3.7 at moment we spent about 300,000 on the first few stages of upgrading Stables

We absolutely need three race meeting every week this time of year in canterbury. Owners Don't want to race their horse's where it's not handy to go watch them, don't figure lol.

Stakes are governed by hrnz, we are bulk funded with part of that allocation being for stakes which is what we pay out.

Could be worse although Kaikoura sunday has the fast 10 treatment 20 minute intervals ( great ) it draws the short straw with the meeting Kicking off at 3.48 ( madness).

This time of year it is clear that we need three race meetings weekly in the Canterbury area , as an owner we have four racing this week on friday night and one at the trials because there isn't a local race suited. No money at trials but another week of training fees.

Korbyn drove very majestic because of his good drive on her the week before when john was away, John Howe put John on his runner when he saw he didn't have a drive in that race , I think I'd rather have John out there driving rather than sitting in the stand.

It's that time of year again when the pretenders come out and try and knock Westview of it's perch although I must say Gasso managed to do exactly that last year but is he just a one year wonder.

Absolutely jackpoting first 4's make a difference but grass track racing with big fields is why you get them although we didn't have as big a fields as usual, as for good GBR again Methven punches well above it's weight infact the club that produced the best total GBR last season was Methven.

Correct, Sunday's have been our money makers for a long time , fortunately the meeting held up at Methven last week about 70,000 up on last year with a Good GBR but we did have one more race. This week's OAMARU meeting we will be more the guide line when we're not on the grass .

I bought that very subject up this week at the upper regional forum which Brad Steele was a participant. He seemed genuinely concerned and was going to bring it up with Entain .Last weeks 12 races at Methven took 5.40hrs last year's 11 race's 4.40 . We aren't funded to provide between race entertainment which is also a problem, if you went to the rugby and half time break was 40 minutes would you hang around.

To be viable to breed horse's you need someone to race them, about 60% of race horse's still have breeders as part of their ownership. Although we were told 70% of the new funding is going into the lower end horse's I can't see it, creating new race's at that level is not what I'd call looking after the bread and butter battlers that ultimately fund our racing .

I think opinion stops when you call someone a cheat, but that's just my opinion.

If your lucky enough to buy one race fit you have saved yourself another 5 grand. Racing horse's is not for making money.
