  1. I totally agree - I will not go down the shoot - I will have a drink but no birdcage .
  2. In the USA - the home of health & safety and where anyone will sue for anything - they allow every owner , sponsor plus extras have photos with there pride & joy . But not Addington where everyone is in a cage !
  3. As has become apparent one rule for private schools and one rule for public schools - JCA same offence if a private school $100 fine but public school $ 500 fine . Justice never !!!!
  4. If as the treatment company say it is solely for the benefit of injury recovery then you do not race a horse that is injured for at least 2 weeks maybe more . To stop the “ blood doping “ suggestion and the other comments - - Treatment has to be notified - Any horse treated by blood infusion cannot race for 4 weeks from notified date of treatment - If horse treated and not notfird to RIU then trainer stood down for a month and all horses in his/her/there care are not permitted to race during the stand down period unless transferred to a stable who has never had a horse in their care in one or any of the owners of the horse for over the last 2 years. This would be fair as they say is for horse treatment only and others say blood doping . If horse not sound a month of rehabilitation and building up fitness again would mean no performance enhancement . No one will have ? about its purpose !
  5. Surely same offence - whatever code - same starting point for fine / suspension?
  6. As has become apparent one rule for private schools and one rule for public schools - JCA same offence if a private school $100 fine but public school $ 500 fine . Justice never !!!!
  7. Total bullshit then - surely if you dope a horse with a jockey on top or driver behind and I get bet on it then penalty the same . I guess Private Schools v’s Public Schools spell treatment!
  8. Cheaper to cheat in gallops - why ? May change codes and get the chemist working .
  9. I have posted a similar line in the Galloping Chat and to my surprise they tell me the JCA fines/penalty quidelines and set by the ruling body . So the JCA is not an independent body and two identical cases the galloper can get a $5 k fine and harness $10 k fine - surely this shouldn’t be ! The JCA should be fully independent and not puppets to the governing body and why slam harness v’s galloping. Is HRNZ judge and jury plus trying to destroy every trainer in NZ . Who gave them the mandate to treble penalties for the harness code v’s galloper ? Both race horses , both bet on and both subject to doping surely for transparency and public perception penalties should be the same . Harness big finds get in the paper gallopers never reported on so makes out to the public harness are just big cheats . JCA should be 100% independent !
  10. I thought the JCA were totally independent of the governing bodies and the penalty levels were what that the JCA felt appropriate. I learn something everyday but have to question whether this should be the correct way to go - a trainer dopes a horse with xyz and if all things equal surely the penalty should be the same whether a trotter or a galloper ,
  11. Have you noted the favourable fines etc galloping trainers recieve vs harness trainers for very similar offences. Is there a different jurisdiction for different codes ?
  12. It is a stunning location - close to everything, central and in the best schools zone . If I was in the millionaire bracket I couldn’t think of anything better than living in this location.
  13. Another gallop soft fine - $1,400 each - yep below RIU recommendation
  14. Still doesn’t explain the gallop $6 k fine versus harness Burrows fine and baking soda first offence $12k Cobalt is in the public eye a far more serious drug but galloping trainer gets half what RIU suggest and credit for not been warned off by the RIU as last test was getting close ! Burrows charged twice and fine double but RIU admit they possibly should of told them of first Kava positive! This is not consistent- are gallops treated differently?
  15. How inconsistent is this fine Harness versus Gallops 1) Harness bi carb 1st offence & proof not tubed - fined - $12,000 2) Galloper trainers 1st offence Cobalt - fined - $6,000 Do gallopers recieve lower fines - not fair and not equal . Surely each code should have same penalties?
  16. Maybe get hard interval training at home and only the supper horse can stand up to it and the rest gone forever. Chase Auckland another example . Broke down at 2 , broke down at 3 and half broken down start of 4 year old season . A few can handle the regime but more don’t .
  17. Read this case re - A) JCA said they should of flagged trainer he was getting close to been over so lower fine - Compare with Burrows case B) RIU recommend $12 k but JCA gives $6 k - Compare Dunn case RIU say $4 but they get $30 k Different softer rulings for thoroughbred v’s Harness . This case Colbat so how can it be half of Burrows and they were told they shouldn’t of been told about first Kava reading ! Read this case and see a real soft fine/decision but different code !
  18. Girls give as good as they get today - potty mouth is not solely from males . It is not a case of that - it is about all behaving professionally and to don’t bring the sport into disrepute .
  19. Apologies spelling & grammar - the site bounced me on correcting the posting
  20. I attach party of a JCA ruling for Galloping and COLBALT and it is again so inconsistent when compared with Harness decisions . A) The IRU said fine should be $11k and JCA awards $6k B) Reference to the IRU should of flagged the previous high colbalt reading to the trainer! Now think Dunn & Burrows- 1) IRU suggested $6 k by memory for the Dunn case and JCA near treble that fine - JCA loose on appeal . Also a minute caffeine v’s colbalt the substance in the galloper should be double fine ! 2) Burrows - Never warned / told about first Kava test then get 2 kava positives for an approved licences bet tonic .Same as galloping circumstances but surely colbalt v’s kava is meths v’s lemonade ! 3) Burrows small 3 horse team and trainers honest as the day is long get fined $5 + $5 k then appeal and get another $1 k so $11 k for a supplement recommend at a horse shop to calm nerves . A fine nearly twice a high profile galloping partnership who gets cobalt ! All we ask is for consistency but the inconsistencies continue. Why do we have JCA anyway they are making some strange calls and appeals are going against their original decision - ie Jewels Drivers Fines - regularly ! Also, it is the costing the sport huge money in overhead !
  21. Still not doing it for me - surely there is something else we could try . Stand behind the driver ( Aussie way ) , lower the platform and make rails vertical - this leaning over down on the horse is impossible to get a half decent photo - think of something as this has taken away a huge pleasure of owning a horse and spending $$$$ $. May as well join the Aussie flight as if you cannot get close to your horse may as well chase the easy pickings over the ditch and watch it on TV !
  22. The title Cup should carry a minimum stake and minimum class . Today’s effort had a rating from 40 discretionary ( handicap) - I thought rating 40 was reserved for drop backs on Thursday night - surely not worthy of a cup name . The stake was less than a low grade trot ! Winter pace ok winter c...p never .
  23. A good picture
  24. Watch the last trot - Unruly No 10 Crusher Collins - race 4 . Great by Nathan Williamson to get away with it but totally unfair to every other horse who stands ! To me cheating and horse should be disqualified and driver fined / holiday . Unruly is just that and if you cannot improve your starts give up but don’t cheat !
