So that means not as good
-
How is Heuy v’s FTM look now and favouritism you questioned ? i guess I am proved correct .
-
Those drugs you say I am on - to say Mcleland is a good / top driver - you must on them as well .
-
Heuy a better horse - confirmed today .
-
How we looking today -Huey just confirmed my view he is a better horse than FTM . LongOwner always right
-
How did Feel the Money go today - I say again not as good as Hewy
-
And you changed the thread from the Franklin Cup to race 9 Nelson with choreography unfounded insinuation - one could state slanderous comment as no facts !
-
Nope you did not hear the race or nope you are deaf? It was in the post race review
-
Jesus another conspiracy theory on why a horse ran second and was favourite . Feel the Money favourite as she has 200 plus owners x $5 ew v’s Heuy with one owner. Huey is the better horse and drew one and should of been favourite . Listen to the race and the commentators gave huge rap of Johns drive from going from 3-4 wide on the bend to fence to run solid second . Draw 1 v’s 6 makes your conspiracy very shallow . The Fixer drive was - I am not going to try drive - so punters had their money stolen .
-
And now he has given up again - flagged Refton and Rick May took drives - a great asset for the sport poisoned again by over zealous Mormon look a likes . A first offence for a very longtime absent young driver does not warrant a top end fine - an experienced long period senior horseman gets $200 - less than Stevie Golding . The result is a talent is lost !

NZ Cup $100,000 Now $800,000 So 8 X $5,500 = $44,000 That looks right or is MET robbing the other races to inflate the Cup ?
-
If house now say $1 mill that is 21 times $47 k so $5500 x21 = $117,000
-
That appears low versus the 80- 90’s inflation/interest rates for that period but maybe that is all it is today .
-
And if you adopt an average inflation rate of the 35 years then allowing nothing for growth or extraordinary cost increases about average inflation the stake should be ; 5% p.a average: $28,900 6% p.a average: $39,900 7% etc : $54,900 Worth remembering in the mid 80 and part 90’s we had inflation well into double digit. Someone give us what is $5,500 in 1983 worth now .

Why would Auckland horses come down for the Cup Meeting when there week in week out stakes are near the same . Cup supporting races stakes are an embarrassment . Then the lead up Cup races for up to full open class races are a huge embarrassment. Why race in the Maurice Holmes Vase for $14,000 odd . ATC rating 50 run for more !!

NZ Cup Field: Queen Bee Bardon & Bailey's Knight
LongOwner replied to Happy Sunrise's topic in Trotting Chat
Someone agrees with me . Cheapens the race and I agree a dumb down result . All because of greed - MET needs to rethink this as last 3 years have had useless horses in the race (some have destroyed deserved starters there chance in the race ) - Miracle Mile by far the best race in Australasia as field quality not quantity. Rating 90 should be the minimum nomination or you win a qualifying race - not this $$$$ pay in and you get a start . -
That doesn’t make the present cup process the right way to manage the sports previous Everest for Australsia - now the miracle mile in my opinion is the Everest as you have to be asked or qualify so best v’s the best .
-
Why do the TAB and the Club promote them then - all they do is make a mockery of the field - pay up and you are in the field - and robbing the punter which racing survives on . Far to early market & nominations - creed which makes every sale of every horse ( cup class down to plonder ) look like a Christian charity with an excellent cause - so the fields get smaller and weaker . Hope after the shambles of the last 2-3 years they review the rubbish. Club and TAB ruining what was a great race . Nominations and horse grading would suggest a field of no more than 12 should get a start -and that’s a stretch - I would say less . But people have paid $$$ so will get a non deserved start and bugger the race - Dream About Me chopped at the start last year - by a low ranked horse ! But lesson was not learnt .
-
Nomination fees mean the true racing follower has again missed out because the early nominations means the likes of Spakem didn’t nominate - on his Kaikoura run and run before he would of been really competitive and added quality to a now average field . There maybe more out there or sitting in Aussie like Spakem - especially with the defections - but the public will be left with a field with no depth or poor lead up form. Nomination fees kill a chance of a Spakem making the field and rob the classic race of a late bloomer not getting a chance to run . The big negative they do allow horses a start who have not deserved it ! To make it worst they steal the dumb punters early money with scratchinga every year with no refund - a good way to sour the harness punter and send his $ somewhere else .
-
They drive like they always have and the races have gone up in tempo and quality returns . It has confirmed a lot of drivers are no where in the class of the top level . Mr Y wins four yesterday ,
-
When you look at its record you can see Mclellan does well for his owners, its just a bit of a shame he drives like he does. Hes been put out for not trying before and I think many who expect drivers to try to win each time think he is in a class of his own. Can't see him changing anytime soon. The Galah your above comment - should he had been charged with race fixing ? Not trying ! Is fixing to not win - all the same .

An Appeal Court Judge sitting on the JCA ruled the evidence produced and the Police non disclosure meant there was a lack of evidence for the suspensions to continue as disproportionate penalty v’s the charges based on the evidence . RIU overzealous prempted decision - the court judge questioned whether they were heavy handed at the bail hearing but could no change it - adds to whether the whole saga has balance or foundation. All have to wait for the justice system now but at least this in justice band has been removed .
