  1. He is not saying that - the rule is an arse and needs adjustment . Look at it these specific races versus animal welfare and tell me who was flogging anything or any animal !
  2. I struggle to see how any of them made 12 strikes to the horses rump . RIU in whirlwind roll play to justify there existence - are they having to re apply for their jobs with the restructure ?
  3. Old news - consent hearing coming up but no idea whether RHC is for it or against it.
  4. That maybe correct as Millennials are a very sensitive bred who do not accept any criticism. They are of the view they know everything and invented the none specific very general let’s make everyone guilty of something term Woke.
  5. What’s mofo mean - never heard of the word ?
  6. Can HRNZ give us a written report or can nobody write in Birmingham Drive . Millennials - who are generally now the age group employed at HRNZ - seem to not appreciate that the harness owner , supporter and follower doesn’t play video games and generally does not do uTube or lame amateur videos - gives us a written report to digest !
  7. I am over videos - write a statement for everyone to digest or HRNZ summarise what was said . 7 minutes of waffle is exactly that - give us the facts and in writing .
  8. Honestjohn you mustn’t have any children or grandchildren who are between 25 - 35 + as you sound very naive on what is the world like . Ask your accountant , lawyer , doctor , mechanic , builder, IT person etc if they or any of their staff have tried or used any drugs ? You will be surprised what the answer would be if they answered honestly . He didn’t cheat and only certain drugs stay in the system a longtime - dope does which Labour & the Greens want to legalise .
  9. The photo is not the Jill Smolenski as quoted in the article . Very poor journalism as completely the wrong photo . Jill Smolenski horse woman and Jacks daughter, quoted in the Press , at the moment works at Allstars and previously trained on her own and used her fathers colours . Photo wrong Jill !!!!!!
  10. Kawasaki highlight so far - as soon as I saw a start of a jap gallop race - finished me for the night . No bets and my TO per meeting is $200 plus or thereabouts if no collects How to turn off regulars no radio coverage and bloody jap races on Friday night !!!
  11. Where are the turnover figures gone to? i hear Riccarton first week was $2.5 mill v’s Addington Friday early on was $1.2 mill. Big difference - why the secrecy - RITA should publish every meeting and weekend total and then junior rugby team can again sell raffles based on total .
  12. I have given this some long thought - not arguing he did wrong and if the case report is correct it is hard for anyone to dispute - but verses serious crimes heard in a higher court ( High Court ) than the JCA the punishment is too hard. He did not commit murder.
  13. Why have we got 2 outfits sorting out race programs ? Surely central body only or club only - cost and time waste is not affordable. Present only 4 meetings a week and over a fortnight 4 clubs so say wages and overhead ( rent , phone , car etc ) of say $150k p.a per club is $600K on stakes .
  14. I have a bet sitting since F1 never got to start - had 2 and cashed in one 95 cents to dollar - they have offered me $0.02 in $ - that’s right 2 cents for a $ .
  15. Name suspension you seem to ignore .
  16. Well that didn’t take much to get rolling
  17. Why has site become boring and too nice ?
  18. MOT must perform well as it would not be on my list for 7 race meetings as no phone reception - how over 50% of on course patrons would use to bet these days.
  19. I am not and never have said that but if NZRB/RITA gives you $120,000 for stakes & towards running your meeting and you only pay out 65% on stakes but you have accumulated $500 k in reserves due to being a racing club ( surplus made from the owner coming to your meeting and a punter betting on the horse etc ) then maybe the club should say we are ripping off the owner and NZRB/RITA . Therefore, to save travel and costs etc the owner is better off racing closer to home . My view is the other on course activities should make money ( bar food sponsorship etc ) and help towards running a meeting and stakes should be as close to turnover distribution from RITA. Just my model that can vary a bit for iconic days ( Kaikoura an example which had another day put on them as it is $30 k to set up for 1 or 2 days ) but racing for poor stakes when a club uses 40% of its distribution to run the bar and pay the rates & insurance it is not servicing the industry .
  20. And Happy Sunrise if not done is not the reason for it to be done now - then Clubs can prove whether they should keep there dates etc.
  21. Happy Sunrise Such a report was produce up until 2016 then canned as showed too much info - like Clubs paid only 55% of the money they received from NZRB in stakes compared with Cheviot the high at 113% by memory .
  22. It is public knowledge HRNZ did not ring Allstars and other big Canterbury stables Nat was interviewed and said communication was terrible - on public record .
  23. The lack of industry transparency hasalways annoyed me . Surely it is possible for RITA / TAB then HRNZ publish from each meeting - - On course turnover - Off course turnover - Fixed odd turnover - Exotic turnover So total turnover say MET next Friday Then stakes contribution from RITA Then gross stakes paid to owners / races Net stakes paid ( net of nomination fees, industry associated body contribution - Sires Stakes , Filly Series etc ) Then we can see who is the best performing club for us all to digest . Then the case for closure maybe very apparent or the opposite. Also how do HRNZ know the horse population and location etc - they couldn’t even be bothered to ring Mark & Nat but managed to call the small time favourite trainer .
  24. It maybe a bit of a conspiracy theory but the clubs to loose their permits predominately have strong balance sheets with property , reserves or both. Will the new Act make Waterlea sell or Avondale etc? I do agree we need rationalisation and a race meeting should standalone and make money without sucking on its reserves but the selection of theses clubs versus say Westport or Nelson or Refton may mean a RITA plan to balance its books by asset striping the asset rich club . Manawatu books look strong and how can HRNZ tell trainers how to run their business - as an example if Brad Williamson wants to travel to middle of the Nth island for a two day meeting that is his call not HRNZ’s .
