  1. It was a witch hunt and the stipes are still at it - most non professional rule enforcement group in the NZ. Dead body movers !
  2. I think Carter has a bit to go to get near such a great record
  3. Iphone web page of HRNZ does not display Dexter's record but main site does -shame as he is a huge advertisement for the sport and his record should be available for all to see - Dexter Dunn Last updated 07/09/2022 at 21:58 pm Licence: Not Currently Licensed PRINT (Lifetime - wins/placings) Driver Statistics: Season Start 1st 2nd 3rd $ UDR 2019 Open Driver 23 4 1 3 25,490 .2415 Trot: 5 1 0 1 2018 Open Driver 1198 214 158 150 2,307,787 .2936 Trot: 298 52 25 39 2017 Open Driver 1070 229 159 131 2,256,372 .3374 Trot: 270 43 31 31 2016 Open Driver 1090 214 165 120 2,003,407 .3171 Trot: 276 49 36 27 2015 Open Driver 1001 216 152 116 2,112,468 .3388 Trot: 233 42 40 19 2014 Open Driver 1029 206 151 123 2,220,136 .3216 Trot: 229 30 30 20 2013 Open Driver 1063 199 138 122 1,827,192 .2976 Trot: 210 29 27 29 2012 Open Driver 983 199 133 103 2,093,455 .3125 Trot: 174 24 26 23 2011 Junior Driver 1152 220 152 121 1,839,580 .2993 Trot: 210 29 23 20 2010 Junior Driver 1058 168 154 86 1,948,189 .2668 Trot: 177 17 20 20 2009 Junior Driver 1263 204 139 120 1,951,274 .2543 Trot: 218 30 19 15 2008 Junior Driver 846 146 109 103 1,384,437 .2847 Trot: 67 8 10 3 2007 Junior Driver 52 4 5 2 29,076 .1432 Trot: 1 0 0 0 2007 Overseas Junior Driver 24 3 2 1 20,842 .1852 Trot: 0 0 0 0 2006 Trials Driver Lifetime: Starts: 11852 Trot: 2368 1st: 2,226 Trot: 354 2nd: 1,618 Trot: 287 3rd: 1,301 Trot: 247 Stakes: 22,019,704 UDR: .3002
  4. Dexter was the better driver at the same stage as he used to travel NZ and have full cards and had a huge win total - + 200 as a junior and high UDR . Carter is getting better drives and smaller numbers so UDR higher. I see HRNZ have wiped Dexter’s stats - short sited as valuable info when having a discussion like this. Hopefully they will reinstate them as some rank him as the best driver in the world . As a junior he won many driving premiership plus went to World Driving champs while still a junior. Now USA champ at least twice.
  5. Huge waste of money Senz - harness treated very poor by poor presenters - I have given up on them! Animal welfare is today a necessity - woke society win more than they loose . Sports divide is as big as 3waters People have to realise good trainers are just good and feed three times better and train 3 times better and drive 5 times better than the poor UDR trainer so stop bagging the stars of the sport . Marketing is a total joke at National and Club level - pool funds and put it out for tender to independent professional advertisers - contract for 3 years based on proposals from firms. The board is generally lightweight - of course some exceptions.
  6. Use the rating system and spread the stakes relative to ratings - on average field days ( say Thursday & Sunday ) run races all grouped into ratings - no PBD handicaps - so as an example 35 up to next lowest rating is one race for 12 horses . No handicap. Stake $5 k , next race grouping of lowest rating stake $6k then next lowest grouping $7k The horse of around 35 rating owners/ trainers know they have a race in a like with field every week which they may win . These poor rating horses have raced 35 to 150 times and owners want to race so as long as they race like with like they will line up every week . Group bottom ratings bottom to top - the club goes the reverse so uses 35 ratings etc as just fillers in higher rating fields. All fields and program centralised at HRNZ with directive to use the rating system bottom to top up to say 45 or 50 rating then those poor fields will be filled every week. Horses can nominate for a rating race rather than non winner/maidan race . The lower class qualifier doesn’t want to race against high quality first starters who when 2 min at the trials . Then the higher rating field sits on top using top to lowest rating - some days there will be a hole to fill up by handicap but do not destroy the low rating like with like rating system races as there stakes are lower due to class of horse . They throw rating 35 in 3-4 races up to rating 50. Why not one race of 35-40 or 2 races then next week a drop back fills the hole and 2 winning horses go to rating 42 . I yo yo but the lower class horse owners what to race but if just stocking fillers they will be rehomed but more than likely disposed .
  7. RIB has dead body mover, failed police officers with some having charged the wrong person for murder , very average - of short duration - junior drivers and didn’t get the top police job who still feels aggrieved silent leader . So you think that grouping sets a high enough bar for people to follow and respect ?
  8. https://harnesslink.com/new-zealand/rib-the-new-elephant-in-the-room-for-racing/ I have been consistent and a few independent reports have come to the same conclusion.

  9. Any rule enforcement agency should have a system which provides justice - the RIU doesn’t and they are not proactive in creating a set of rules which does - a) No thresholds for caffeine , cobalt , meths etc - read international athletic rules , Australian cobalt rules , and NZ govt meths thresholds etc . b) As in this case how can the same office and people be investigator, prosecutor, and then the equivalent of district court judge, high court judge & Supreme Court judge. I have be calling this out for years . c) Who set the penalties - now that is a mystery! d) RIB cost !! e) Rouge raids as they hold a vendetta f) Waste of our money g) Their lack of penalty guidelines (agreed by industry participates) causes the headlines - not me! Great to see a report with balance which is no based on leaked information and totally biased. It is like paying 66% tax - you loose respect of the system . They need to be inclusive and not elite - the ones they harass without foundation are paying their wages by the product the trainer , driver ,and jockey provide. Balance is all people ask for and fairness. Not witch hunts.
  10. And her stance, I would suggest, is positive publicity as the RIU structure is wrong, not fair and no one would think it it follows the requirements which would meet the justice test . Instead of being a card holder for the RIU - research justice and it’s accepted standards/provisions and tell us how the structure meets those requirements . You can say the RIU are not always correct !
  11. Yes the Crown Law Office managing partner seems to agree with Wigg’s barrister - you cannot have the prosecutor , judge , jury and appeal body all in the same camp/office. Then they pick names out of the friendly group to fit the prosecutors case - that is so far off fair or justice it is embarrassing .

  13. Those who don’t want to run AWT scratch and others may join - better for the industry to have racing than cancelled meeting . The sport relies on turnover so let’s use the AWT track and run - if you don’t like the surface well your owners will miss opportunities .
  14. The rain that has been falling surely an earlier inspection and report from the course manager on Wednesday would given the same result - cannot run. Then transfer to AWT and open up nominations with preference to those already nominated . Surley that was part of the selling point AWT in each island . Lack IQ and pragmatism - better to make the early call than cancel on Saturday mid morning . Use the AWT
  15. I think no one approves the unnecessary use of the whip but the righteous sermons from the pulpit by the RIU is getting very tiresome. The other think I note are the penalties are getting totally out of line with reality. An apprentice jockey - god the sports needs them as the future of the sport - gets 14 weeks suspension which without any win % could be $10-$15k in riding fees. That is a penalty way out of proportion to an apprentice trying to make it in racing - ridiculous which makes you think they are on a personal vendetta. Shame I have to say again - can this outfit apply some balance in setting penalties as lately they have been ridiculous. Are they trying to drive all high performing participants out of the sport so we will have no sport left and their sermons will be no longer required.
  16. I cannot work out the penalties RIU set versus our higher court system ? Drink and drive and kill five kids and 2.5 years jail - out in 18 mths. You administer a none banded natural product and banded from earning a living for 21 months. What is worse ? I see the old double dipping - triple if you count NZ Super - Judge again set this unrealistic penalty . RIU bench needs some fresh younger bench members who have some - just a little - empathy with fairness and justice.
  17. They have been telling us they were going to do a lot of things - we had to wait for the new structure. The new structure is inferior to the old with no communication , arrogance still very strong , no rule amendments and no seperate appeal body - one group of judge and jury. When are they going to change caffeine threshold and review others plus report levels to provide us with transparency? Also why no action against in-house leaks to the press or middle party then press - it should of been shut down years ago but no action taken. Clean broom needed.
  18. The narrative within the decision is ridiculous. After all laboratory results and evidence says the positive is due to the trainer urinating behind his boxes and day paddock but the RIU judge and jury write a book - They tell us it is evil and the defendant must be punished , penalty to deter others (I assume to put them off going to the toilet) , disapproval of the offence - again going to the toilet, putting the racing industry into disrepute - again going to the toilet is bad for the sports look etc So the judge and jury from one camp can only “ cut and paste” when they write a decision . Again a way to remove their respect from industry participants. Each case is individual so why can it not be written as such and the decision be delivered with some individuality to the case involved. Can they tell us how the actions of this trainer - having 3 cups of coffee a day and pissing behind (not in boxes ) his boxes put the sport into disrepute and why is it reported as if he had a positive to steroids! Shows the Wigg appeal may have legs as team written decisions do not represent justice so we could interpreted the racing industry justice system provides no justice. “Penalty Submissions – Applicant [8] The RIB have referred to the principles on sentencing in the Appeals Tribunal decision of RIU v L which brings a disciplinary approach to the imposition of sanctions for breaches of the Rules, in particular: (a) Penalties are designed to punish the offender for his/her wrong doing. They are not meant to be retributive in the sense the punishment is disproportionate to the offence, but the offender must be met with punishment. (b) In the racing context it is extremely important that a penalty has the effect of deterring others from committing similar offences. (c) A penalty should also reflect the disapproval of the JCA (now the Adjudicative Committee) for the type of offending in question. [9] Importantly, the RIB does not consider the Respondent to be a habitual offender, nor a person of low moral character that he would bring the Thoroughbred Racing Code into disrepute should he remain in the profession. [10] However, breaches of the Rules should be penalised and that such penalty should reflect the industry’s “clean racing image” and to remind participants of their obligations under the Rules.”
  19. Galloper trainer lost a $15 k stake and fined $2k as he had a piss behind his boxes. He has 3 cups of coffee a day. RIU said no deliberate intention and trainer innocent but horse was not clear - so proving justice cannot be served due to nonsense rules - and guilty as no other ruling can be given. Do you know in international sport - athletics / Olympics - by memory there is a 100 threshold . Not nil like RIU rules on. This rule needs immediate amendment as it is a nonsense and the threshold should be at no lower/the same as a human running a mile who has 20% of the body mass of a horse and been sensible a higher threshold to reflect horse size . Such nonsense and no commonsense rules just makes everyone think the RIU is there to wreck the sport instead of been good for the sport to stop cheats. Does the RIU think having a piss after a cup of coffee cheating? Clean up all your rules and review all thresholds so they make sense and then maybe more sport participants will respect you - especially if you are not on personal crusades, present yourself with humility and not arrogant. Anend nonsense rules asap .
  20. I cannot recall anyone saying there was planted evidence - I don’t know how you plant evidence for a fixing betting case. Nor drugs planted . The only thing I have noticed - people like myself who strongly consider the whole thing has no wheels as no evidence of fixing plus some stipes were/are on a crusade proven by emails they have written to the police. Then there are those who are feeding The Press and believe all charged are all guilty as the NZ Police can do no wrong and so keep feeding the RIU and the fire with falsehoods . Those feeding the fire have not worked out there are good trainers and useless trainers - some don’t have it. The coach of a third division team in Auckland is not the same standard/professionalism as Steve Hansen. Study history and the cream / skill of a trainer and driver comes to the top but the jealous group will not recognise it.
  21. Stream trackside is terrible A lot of NZ does not get good internet so cannot stream and in the car radio TAB received a high % of the audience . AM radio worked through out NZ except no coverage in Blenheim So we threw away a great vehicle to keep punters and promote new punters

  23. The problem NZ Harness have is the RIU have, under the present and past leadership and present staff/stipes, created a bad cop program with arrogance - ex starter come stipe is an example . RIU have to have respect and behave with integrity and so do trainer & drivers - it is a two way thing . The RIU drove a wedge between the groups and encouraged division in the trainer ranks and if there are no changes in RIU personnel it will never change.
  24. The Inca case(s) had/has no foundation as there is no money trail , no fixing and no proof of fixing . It started by a public complaint that should of/could of been dealt with by the RIU. Instead they went on a jealous crusade and called in the Serious Crime Unit who could not find the evidence to conclude match fixing . Everything else is outside the narrow warrant - race fixing. As Chief said to chase some for a few party pills - we will be talking about it in 3 years time as it will get clogged down in the courts.
